You better stay in IB. You want to come and be squatting with relative for how long? You think they won't get tired of you? When they chase you out, will you rent a place and furnish on that salary?

The fact that the Lagos job is strictly marketing, what happens when they start giving you u realistic targets and cutting your pay because you didn't meet target? Lagos is expensive to live in, transport alone can slash your salary by half, IB would be the wisest decision. Gives you time for yourself, lower cost of living, etc, etc. Please use your tongue to count your teeth.

It's LadyF again grin grin grin
I stand with LadyF

Stay at Ibadan, advance your skills, enhance your competitive edge then spread your job search net for a BIGGER catch.

I have never seen a worse Information Minister in the whole World since Lai.

He makes the presidency look like a joke.

This week: "The 2016 budget was not influenced" -Lai Mohammed
"I will punish those who padded the 2016 budget" -President Buhari

Few Weeks ago: "War against boko haram is being fought with substandard weapons" -Lai Mohammed
"We are not fighting boko haram with substandard weapons" - Nigerian Army

Seems Mr Lai Mohammed has gotten over with the pre-election lies.

Career › Re: How I Was Assaulted By My Lebanese Boss Yesterday Morning by modik(m): 7:41pm On Feb 25, 2016
Charlieubochi:
I work for a construction company in Port Harcourt owned by 2 Lebanese brothers. I work as one of the two Administrative staff. I was employed two years ago and the very first thing I noticed about the place was the care - free manner the Lebanese people smoke. They smoke all kinds of things openly in the office not minding the health implications on other staff. I also noticed the total lack of respect that those people have for us Nigerians. They told me stories of how they insult people, throw all kinds of objects at them and I even heard they physically fight them. I always thought it was funny and I never ever thought that I'll be a victim of such horrible, barbaric and slave-master attitude from these people. I am a BSc degree holder in accounting and I am being paid #30,000 plus I have to work on Saturdays too.

On Friday last week I requested for permission. I informed the workshop manager that my friend would be wedding the following day(Saturday). He said I should go directly to the MD of the company a dental request for permission myself. I said no, that nobody goes directly to him knowing his very bad attitude and lack of respect for everyone and besides he's the MD and shouldn't be bothered by such trivial issues.

So I proceeded to go to the wedding on that Saturday thinking my request had been granted or at the most I would be marked absent on that day. I returned to work on Monday and I was stopped at the gate. The security people said the MD told them not to let me in. When I asked why, they said it was because I didn't come to work on Saturday. I was so shocked. In any case I begged and pleaded but I was advised to go home and come back the following day (yesterday) and beg him to let me continue working. I went to the office early and waited for him to come and then I started begging him. The moment he saw me he started insulting me. He said I was useless and ungrateful. I kept on begging. He came close to me and gave me a hot slap on my left cheek. I never in my widest dream expected to be slapped by any person whether boss or not. I was so furious that it took God's grace not to beat him up. I knew if I beat him up I won't have a good case against him. So I insulted him and stormed out of the office. I reported the case at the police station. They invited him to make his statement and my dad (who doubles as my Lawyer) is handling the issue.

I am going to make sure he will never forget this experience. He would pay heavily for this and other crimes he has committed against innocent Nigerians. He was so shocked and I could see some fear in his eyes at the police station. He never expected anyone much less the very quiet boy who sits in a corner of his big company to drag him to police station and to sue him to court.

The Lebanese, Indians and Chinese are fond of maltreating we Nigerians. Even his Lawyer confessed that they see us as slaves in our own country which is a very terrible situation. Many Nigerians are afraid of standing up for their rights when these people treat them badly. I'm writing this long message to encourage people to always stand up for their rights and never let anyone or situation intimidate them. I would love to hear from anyone that has gone through similar situations before.
Great Nigerian.

I salute your tact and courage.
I know you would be compensated for this assault.

Kudos for not taking the laws into your own hands.

Do update NL family on the outcome.

With a Jonathan I saw the Road Map to the development of this country. He made the Road map to Rail Transport/development clear. He made the Road Map of Power Sector development clear. He made the Road Map of Agricultural development clear. He made the Road Map of all his achievements for this country clear in all the fields of human endeavor. But today I cannot see where we are going as a country. I cannot see where we are being lead to.

Jonathan got a PHD and applied it in his mission statements for this country. Nigerians enjoy 'gragra' men who likes to fight corruption and make a show of it. But we did not see that in Jonathan who today is the actual president that fought corruption and got so many things right with his BVN introduction.

I miss you dear Jonathan.

This is the effect of his corruption we're dealing with right now. Bush's bad economic policies didn't begin to have a devastating effect until end of 2008. We were already borrowing money to pay salaries when oil was >$60. NOI was already making noise about tough times ahead even at oil selling at double of what it is right now. If they were already preaching doom then and borrowing to pay salaries, what do you think would be happening now? In 2015 they slashed capital spending to almost nothing, what do you think would have happened if they were there now? Nigerians always act like we suffer from short term memory loss. Any semblance of doing any work was because GEJ ruled this country during the highest oil boom as soon as there was a little downturn they stopped funding capital projects. Contractors stopped work because they were owed, oil marketers were owed. With the oil boom, they left humongous debt and diminished reserve. How do you make more, then owe more and have less? If they ruled how they should we should be several steps ahead as a country and we should not be feeling the effect so quickly because we'll have some funds left to act as a cushion.

I want this administration to be more aggressive in tackling this dwindling economy. I believe they could be doing more. I need them to treat it as an emergency and go after it with the energy and passion they're chasing Boko Haram and corruption but coming here trying to do some abracadabra like it wasn't corruption that got us here won't work.
Coming here to Blame GEJ this GEJ that is most nauseating to say the least.

How long shall we continue to campaign for relevance even after elections have been long concluded? Is governance not a continuum? If I see myself incapable of proferring solution to the problem at hand, while I willfully applied for the job, is it not high time the helmsman got down to work rather than chasing shadows when the jungle is on fire? At what point in Nigerian history have we got it right by redirecting the economic fortunes to the rightful channel of productivity?

We sing "The labours of our heroes past" in our National Anthem but focus only on GEJ who is the scape goat! Forgetting all past leaders who brought the country to its knees through one policy sumasult or the other.

How long shall it take the present government to let Nigerians see, appreciate and key into their economic policy framework aimed at addressing the recession hitting our economy?

Did you read about Wole Soyinka's advise on the urgent need to convene a National economic conference aimed at addressing the looming recession?

Many questions begging for answer. For me, the time of campaign is over, let the government of the day settle down and address /impliment the theoretical policies they promised Nigerians.

No amount of blame game and propaganda can save or absolve them from their vicarious liability/responsibility of governance.

Nigerians are watching.

It is so amazing how people fail to see with their eyes but grop in the figment of their own imaginations.

1.GEJ was corrupt but Fashiola commended his Road construction effort across the country.

2.GEJ was corrupt, yet Rotimi Amaechi applauded his extensive rail rehabilitation effort too.

3. GEJ was corrupt, yet he and his economic team managed inflation and held it down to a single digit all through his tenure.

4. GEJ was corrupt yet he sought to remove subsidy but the GURUS in power now cried wolf but did same in less than six months into power.

5.GEJ was corrupt, yet we had the fairest and freest election in Nigeria's history.

6.GEJ was corrupt yet we never had fuel scarcity for six years except during the dying days of his tenure when opposition politicised and sabotaged his clean record of fuel availability to paint him black.

7. GEJ was corrupt yet he passed freedom of information bill and allowed freedom of expression across social media platform without gaging any body's voice

8. GEJ was corrupt yet...... I can continue endlessly.

Let's remove sentiment and appreciate good works for once.

Only time will tell.
