CrossRiver has terrible forests, with large stones and caves the size of real rooms, and greencolour streams that crisscross eachother in such eerie way!
Enengeyhe, the extreme end where lie quafalls and idim nsokemkpetin has their fair share of mysteries, like the little stream that a stone cannot be thrown across, no matter the force of the projectile. That was back in the day.

The snake! I wonder if anything can kill such a snake, except dynamite or bomb, fortified so with scales the size of a 3inches-diameter plate each with a thickness of abt 8mm well studded.
When we ran to a safe place, two people were missing from the contracted Labour Staff! We all were so fear-stricken and afraid to shout their names in the now dreaded forest lest the serpent would hear and trace our present whereabouts! "That thing would swallow anything in just one gulp!" Mariko, our tallest crew member with the largest muscles, tapping his left feet on the ground, said.
30minutes later, the two emerged from the bush track. "U people were just running. We were calling, dont run! dont run!! But u will not hear." One said, looking calm and collected. "Thatz our village's deity. Doesnt harm." The other added, throwing his arms apart to show our wasted energy in running.
We walked speechlessly to our trucks, jumped in and sped off while the labour staff followed behind in the bus.
l was later informed,one of the two village men who did not run asked others in the bus how big the snake was. That was when I knew why the two did not run. They didnt see the snake and mistook it for the regular village snake they revere.
...Water and forest - from one dreadful scene and encounter to another - I wonder when I ll stop dreading these two habitats.
