@cleverdude i would really advice you to be consistent with whatever info you provided at your first interview as these people usually store whatever it was that you filled in your ds forms coz i maself i was denied during my first attempt and i got it the second time around by the grace of God and needless to say i found out they had every detail i filled in at my first interview and the lady took her time to go thru it and made sure everything was consistent and i guess that made an impression on her.As the othr members pointed out you really messed up big time at first when you stated your cousin as your sponsor but then again you can always try again but beware coz if they find out you are lying they'll view that as misinterpretation of facts and God forbid might even ban you for some yrs.All the best mate

@shavel,first of all i am rily sorry u were denied and would like to encourage u to hold ur chin up and learn from ur mistek.Seedord and i were denied a visa at our first attempt and we didn't lose hope and succeeded at the second attempt.So i would advice you to go back thea and if asked why were u denied just say something like i didn present my case properly last time out or just state wateva reason u deem fit and be confident and with tha grace of the Almighty u will have ur visa in hand next time u come out of that compound.Gud luck

4 ril & aroy thnx 4 tha advice.Also i remember the consular telling me that if i would have applied to a 4 yr university he would rily b of help wich i think means issued the visa.As a matter of fact the guy kept on telling me that i had a very good case since i was young,had good academic backgroung,financially stable parents and ol that and concluded the interview by advicing me to go for a 4yr university and reapply and then i would have a 90% chance of securing the visa.I wasnt listenin to ol that coz i was pissed since i was the only student denied but hopefully i'll go bak n get that visa nxt tym

well spring guys count me in coz am also going 4 undergraduate n waiting for the admission from the school i applied to.my main worry is the fact that i got denied a month ago because i was naive enough and applied to a 2yr college rather than a proper university.but God willing the nxt time i go back to the embassy i'll be mo prepared and focused.my main worry now is what to tell the consular when he brings about reasons of my previous denial,any suggestions would rily boost me

guyz tho i was denied tha visa on monday i would like to say that the interview is really easy if u prepared,just b confident and composed.We were around 8 students that day and i was tha only one denied coz i applied to a 2yr college rather than a 4 yr bachelor's programme.Here is how my interview went

guyz i hav just noticed that tha course indicated in my 1-20 is stated as multimedia webmaster and management while tha course i applied and want to pursue is multimedia video production technology.am told that sevis often indicate tha wrong majors so is it alryt if i tell tha consular that tha contradiction in major titles is tha sevis system which doesnt have all the major titles in their system so they assign the closest related titles in your i-20.guyz help me out here will tha consular want proof if i told him that.

@ Mohaka, why not take TOEFL and SAT exam and apply for a proper honours degree in the US. To be honest with you, I don't think you stand a good chance of getting a student VISA to US for an ordinary associate degree. I like to be realistic with people. You would look dumb to the entry clearance officers (ECO) When you tell them you plan to come back after just an associate degree, My advise is you take SAT & TOEFL (they 're very easy from experience ) apply for a proper honours degree(bachelors) programme and you stand a good chance of getting the F-1 Visa. This is just an opinion (my 2cents ) , you can still try your luck if you want to.

@ laughter tha thing is i applied to this college as i was under the impression that it offered undergraduate degree and to be honest i didn't knw much abt tha difference till now.tha skul asked me 2 take toefl and i hav olredi sat for that test and fortunately got a good score of 92.they waived tha SAT and i got accepted.i realized wat i was into when i received tha i-20 and saw that i was to pursue an associate degree.since i didn think much of it i went ahead and booked tha appointment and u right i can only imagine how i will b lost for words when am asked of my plans after graduation.i will b forever grateful to anybody who can advice me as to how i will respond to that question

can some1 pliz tell me if i am able to secure a student visa with an associate degree since i finished high skul last year and my sponsor has the available funds who is my dad.pliz hit me up guyz
