They said the banks and ghost workers would be handed over to the EFCC. That also means the EFCC would conduct its own investigation and uncover those behind this scam.

I will like to see the symbol which indicates each rank. For example I see some police officers with 2 v or 3 V at the hand of their uniform close to the badge or so.
2 V - corporal
3 V- sergent
1 straight bar - Sub Inspector
2 straight bar - Inspector
3 straight bar - chief inspector
2 * - ASP
3 * - DSP
1 coat of arm - SP
1 * & a coat of arm - CSP
PoliticsRe: Kachikwu: Subsidy Removal Will Not Affect Pump Price by mokset123: 12:05pm On Dec 19, 2015
porka:
It's a sign of immaturity not to admit you made a mistake.

It's only a child that would continue to attempt to cover obvious falsehood with more lies.

You didn't oppose the last administration on subsidy removal because of anything but a combination ignorance, programmed thinking, and perhaps hatred.

Many of you people said then that there was no subsidy at all. While many others said it was your entitlement. Arguing that Nigeria is rich to subsidize petrol, you brought several figures of petrol pump prices from other jurisdictions to justify your entitlement tales. That was when we 'knew' how much petrol is/was sold in Iran, Venezuela, Gabon, Angola etc.

The last administration was the first to identify the unsustainability of petrol subsidy. It was the first to identify those who abused it an charged them to court.

It appointed Kolade the chair of SURE-P who did his bits and resigned based on his AGE (he said at 80 years he was done with public service).

Kolade subsequently nominated Martin Luther Agwai to Jonathan as his replacement.

Again, it's childish to attempt to cover lies with further lies. Ultimately, most lies are uncovered sooner or later.
I beg to differ. The last administration wasn't the first to see or observe the unsustainabillty of subsidy. They where the only ones bold enough to take all away. But at that time Nigerians didn't understand why government did such and hence the occupy nigeria took pace

There is no subsidy in the first place, and I don't see any reason why PMS shouldn't be sold for 60 with crude oil being sold for $37/barrel
Sure you are right but when our refineries can't meet domestic consumption. Then we hope and pray that market prices would bring the cost of imported refined fuel to an amount which the common man can afford or better still more investors build refineries in Nigeria.

Have you ever heard of what we call long term relationship?
My brother even if this is 2015, sorry to say this is Nigeria and not America. Long term girl friend won't take you anywhere other than it ending with a baby mama. In the long run you want a wife and not a baby mama.

Senate is an integral part of democracy so I suggest a drastic pay cut. For them.. they should earn nothing more than a directorship level in the federal ministries !
It is a call to serve and not a call to loot!
good point raised above, but I believe it should be scrapped because its a duplication of function. 360 members at the lower chamber is as good enough represenatative we need. 109 members at the upper chamber ahhh a waste of resources.
Remember the oronsaye report on rationalisation of federal government MDAs. We need to cut cost of running government in Nigeria. Government provides money for constituency projects for all federal law makers yet we still have large infrastructural deficit at the three teirs of government.
PoliticsRe: Senegal Gets Rid Of Its Senate To Save Money by mokset123: 8:09am On Jun 19, 2015
I think nigeria should tow this line of action. This would surely go well with the Nigerian people, who would see politicians as less greedy persons who are dedicated to the resuscitation of the Nigerian economy against the back drop of plethora of problems ( fall in international crude oil prices, financial leakages in government spending and revenue generation at both federal, state and local government teirs)
PoliticsRe: Senators Express Mixed Reactions Over Pay Review by mokset123: 12:57am On Jun 14, 2015
Its time they take a pay cut and the monies for constituency allowance re channelled not into their accounts but that of their various state governments where these lawmakers can perform oversight function on how these monies are spent.

Better still these monies can be payed into federal government held accounts at the various state level, where the federal government can supervise how/what, and where/when these monies are used.

Imagine I heard in Edo State house of assembly a sitting lawmaker is given about 21 million naira annually for constituency allowance. At the end of the day you hear that they dug bore holes, renovated schools what else again?

The expected year on year depreciation factored into the final valuation isn't excessive so i have no problem with that. However, they need to be transparent about the deductions made as stipulated so we can be absolutely certain they aren't just handing over the cars for free

The amount specified for the four discos by nerc would not go down well with Nigerians, as far as there is still no stable power supply in the country. Why are we still paying fixed charges?
we provide our own light, water, school, security.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom state should pursue empowerment programs, boost human development through grants and scholarships, support SMEs in the state and create environment that is attractive to business. Human development is key to societal growth rather than frivolties like hotels, stadium, and stuffs.
since the outgoing government has invested heavily in infrastructure. It suffices to say at this juncture that the incoming government should look into creating an enabling atmosphere where human capital development and supporting of sme's will thrive

Beyond the numbers there is also the issue of remuneration/salaries paid to political appointees and elected officers compared to the MISERABLE N18,000 minimum wage.

Everyone's pay must be brought IN LINE with the minimum wage also!!!
as well as their cut throat allowances.

you can imagine a level 8 officer in the ministry receiving 50k as take home pay per month
