Peterlove11: I have been driving my pilot for more than 3yrs, recently i noticed it started drinking fuel than before, after taking it to my mechanic he recommended I change thermostat that it's not getting to the optimal engine temperature. After changing the thermostat, the car threw out p0172, p0175 (system bank 1 and 2 running rich) codes. We've been trying to get to the root cause, any help will be appreciated. The car drives well well this might be the major cause of your high fuel consumption |

Technology Market › Did MTN Secretly Steal From Me? by mokset123(op): 11:44pm On Sep 22, 2022 |
In recent times, I have been shocked at the rate at which my airtime doesn't last,
So yesterday evening, I observed I had ran out of data, so I checked my airtime balance and observed I had 397, hence, I recharged 3000 from my bank, which brought my balance to 3397, I went ahead to recharge an extra 500 again, this brought my airtime balance to 3897.13.
Now I got a message somedays back that I could subscribe for their 12gig data plus 12gig bonus which cost 3500 by dailing *131*107#. I went ahead and did the above, my 12gig data plus 12gig bonus I subscribed for was credited to my mobile line.
Now that would mean my airtime balance which was 3897.13 ab initio would become 397.13, well here lies the shocker I received.
As I checked my airtime balance all I could see was 97.13. So where did 300 naira worth of my airtime go, is it that, MTN secretly stole from me? and had I not checked, I won't have discovered this.
Now immediately I observed it, I called 180 and in no time, I was on to a customer care representative, I layed my complaint before her, now I realised mtn server/system doesn't update records immediately hence the customer care agent was unable to assist me fully, urging that I should call back after 24 hours, but in the meantime I should dial *447# to check if i subscribed to any of their services, for which I did not subscribe to any of their services.
I will post screenshots below to show proof

My question is at the end of my msc programme, what band will I start working with and can I use the qualification to practice in the us or canada. |

Hope4Naja: Good day my People
I am trying to find a way to save money from my monthly salary. I earn N400,000 after statutory deductions, married with two kids . My wife is not yet working as she just finished her final degree exams before ASUU started their strike. At the end of the month, I only have between 40 to 50k left as savings. I have been trying to find way of adjusting this monthly expenses so I can save more. I know the high cost of things in Nigeria is terribly crazy Rent: 50,000 Feeding: 90,000 (for five) Security and sanitation: 3,000 Electricity and water: 9,000 DSTV: 6,000 Gas: 12,000 Wife Allowance: 20,000 Family and church contribution: 20,000 Myself: 20,000 School fees: 30,000 Transportation: 35,000 Fuel and car maintenance: 30,000 House Maintenance: 15,000 Total: 340,000 you spend 30k for car and fuel, then spend another 35k on transportation, I believe you can tweak this area and save more |

Well first things first, for the honda accord EOD, dextron III transmission oil can be used temporarily, its in the car manual. However a one drain doesn't remove most of the fluid. Drain again and use honda dw1.
Go to where they use a more sophisticated and expensive scan tool and scan your car. These expensive scan tools can scan each component (transmission, srs etc) of the car.
What were the codes you got when you scanned, P0750 indicates a gear selector switch issue.
Look for a honda gear specialist to guide you not any mechanic.
Lastly do your research, there are tons of videos on YouTube, research the codes from your car scan or the issue you are experiencing on YouTube specifically for your car type, you would see others may have documented same issues you have. |

PraizHim: I have worked in many Nigerian Oil production platforms and export terminals. It is organized in Abuja by Government agencies ( NNPC, DPR, MINISTRY OF FINANCE, NAVY and cargo surveying agencies) and executed in the export terminals.
Simple truth and if you make an example of one or two of these criminal groups, the theft will stop immediately. even the militants may be involved too with those you listed above, because the perceived peace in the naija delta region make me suspect them |

yusfaith78: Living in the UK has it pros and cons but in my own case the pros when compare to the cons is 80:20. I will share my story not because I want to encourage people to leave Nigeria but just to let people know the true state of things. Sometime I read some ridiculous things on Nairaland and I usually ask myself if I’m living in the same UK with these people. People have different reasons for migrating and we are all not in the same situation in Nigeria before. I was a business person in Nigeria but government policies coupled with the toxic business environment began to affect my business. I left Naija with my wife not just because my crumbling business but also because I was getting sick on a regular basis because my immune system can no longer fight Malaria effectively and the fact that there’s a 50% chance that a kid raised in Nigeria will end up doing Yahoo Yahoo not because you are a bad parent but due to the high level of unemployment and the environment which has been polluted with fraud and corruption and I want my kids to live a good life.
I moved to UK in January 2020 on a student visa, my wife as student, myself the dependant. She was going to school while I was working full time in as a support worker, she also worker as support worker when she’s not going to school like she does 20 hrs a week while I do mostly 50hrs a week. We earn combine total of £2500 monthly after tax. Then we were living in a one bedroom apartment (room and parlour flat) with total bill of £950 Monthly (rent = 650, council tax = £82, water = £24, internet = £24, Electricity averaging £80, phone bill £20 and monthly bus pass for 2 of us £70 (35£ each)). We always have more than £1500 for ourself after bills.
After her graduation we decided to move to North West of the UK where house rent are a lot cheaper because we now have a baby and we thought we would need a bigger home. So we got 3 bedroom detached house (duplex) for £650 per month our council tax increases to approximately £110 monthly because my wife is no longer a student, energy bill also increases several time in the last year but we currently paying £154 monthly. Water, phone bill , Internet and Bus pass remain the same as before which brings our current total bill to about £1100 monthly and both earn combine total of £3200 after tax for working combine total of 77.5hrs weekly.
As for the GP and NHS that somebody mentioned above, I have never had any issue getting medical help with my GP whenever I booked appointment with my GP I get attended to by a doctor same day. As for the queue with NHS (the big Hospital), if you have a life threatening issue, you will be attended to immediately. They only put you on queue if your case is not emergency and that’s because the NHS is currently struggling to recruit doctors and nurses so it’s not as bad as people make it look.
For me, moving to the UK is the best decision I have ever made because I believe I raise my kids in a good environment where they have a chance to follow their dreams, secondly my immune system has improved a lot because I’m finally free of mosquitos lol and lastly I have peace of mind which is very important in our life.
So if your wish to leave Nigeria for any country, just to Google and search answers for all your questions and see if it will be a good choice or not because trust me Nigerians will never tell you the truth that what I have learned. Good luck l love your honesty and openness, it would go a long way in helping us understand the responsibilities ahead, my question is how come your rent remained same for both one bedroom flat and 3 bedroom flat and you did not state money spent on food and clothing |

Autos › Re: Should I Service My Car Now? by mokset123: 7:41pm On Aug 28, 2022 |
ecolime: This is very educative. I use Total motor oil.. 20W ...L quartz (I have forgotten the letterings)
What actually made me bring this up was that this morning the "Check Engine" came up on my dashboard when I warmed the car very early in the morning.
I switched it off after warming it. But the light disappeared when I was taking it to church and till I returned home.
I think it's best to service it straight away. now your total quartz 20w 50 is a conventional oil, I suggest you service between every 1 to 2 months interval. So you can service right away As for your check engine light, use a scanner to scan the car to pull up the stored obd code, write it down and Google what it is and post it in car talk section of nairaland |
Autos › Re: Should I Service My Car Now? by mokset123: 6:08pm On Aug 28, 2022 |
For car servicing these are the factors you should consider.
1. The car manufacturer may have programmed the vehicle internal indicator to pop up the maintenance light after every 3000 to 5000 miles of driving from it's last service date
2. The quality of engine oil, for example top quality synthetic oils like mobile 1, castrol, gulf, vavoline. These oils can do 5000 to 10000 miles before servicing
3. Lastly, some would advice you service either first 3 to 6 months or first 3000 to 5000 miles depending on which comes first.
4. If you use the conventional oils for your car, change it every 1 to 2 month interval
If you follow any of the four above, then you would extend your engine life.
For your question, it depends on the quality of oil you used, the miles the car has covered for that period and the time frame based on the duration from you last service date. I hope this helps |

StacyAspace: Hello nairalanders, I don't know where else to post this but, I hope the moderators don't delete it but rather, push it to the appropriate section. I'll make this as concise as possible. Pardon errors
I've been having severe breast pain for over a week now. Went to a pharmacist and she told me to consult a doctor. Consulted a doctor and he only asked me if there's a lump there. He didn't even bother to check it himself (he's an old man, maybe, he's trying to keep standards). He simply scribbled somethings on a piece of paper and told me to pass it to the nurse. After which the nurse told me that I'm supposed to pay xyz amount just to get an injection. Hmmmm
The pain is getting worse and leaves me crying. Recently, I started having nightmares which I suspect to be malaria so, I took malaria tabs. I have these very very tiny bumps on my laps, took antibiotics and they multiplied. Quite itchy too
I'm really scared cause I fear for the worse. Doctors on here, please what could most likely be the issue? And what do you suggest?
Help push to the right section. No harsh comments, please.
NB: prior to this, someone man-handled my breasts without my consent. I don't know if this might help shed more light. I added extra weight and my breast size increased as well. go to a university teaching hospital or federal medical center close to you and see a doctor |

Gr8mike: You have a point but considering house rent and transportation, one will wonder how much of the 250k you can save, I had to discover from Nepa recently has my bill was up to 15k monthly for just a 2room apartment, lawma bill is there, landlord and tenant contribution, utility bill is just crazy. your power bill is on the high side, if there isn't a prepaid for your flat, then you may consider looking for an apartment with one. Have you considered the cost of moving down to benin to take up the new offer |
