CrimeRe: Why I Don’t Like Nigerians By Robert Lindsay, A US Citizen by monex(m): 1:48pm On May 17, 2017
GavelSlam:
Is he really?

Can you actually say the number of people involved in 419 is less than a million?

If you have to debate that in your head then that's not generalising.
if it is a million then it means, 99.5 percent of Nigeria's 200 million population are not into 419
if it is 10 millions then it means, 95 percent of Nigeria's 200 million population are not into 419

do you see why it still could be generalising?

This is awkward... embarassed

An ignorant racist writes nonsense and some Nigerians are accepting it as gospel truth.

While we accept that Nigeria is a country bedevilled by corruption, this kind of generalisation has rendered the article nonsensical. How can you say 'every Nigerian is a scammer'? The most notorious scammers in history are Americans, Europeans and Asians. Every crook hiding in cyberspace can claim to be Nigerian because we already have a bad rep.

I dismissed the entire article when the silly writer inferred that Nairobi is in West Africa. I cannot take the thoughts of such an ignorant person seriously, whether black or white.

As for the Emmanuel who commented on the blog, he evidently belongs to that class of Nigerians in Diaspora who display their rock bottom self esteem and inferiority complex by being more American than the Americans.

Crap!
few write-ups in this thread contain as muush truth as this

We all speak from our perspectives really hence the danger of generalisation. If you are a Nigerian whose only interaction with foreigners was your multi-national colleagues, you would actually think the westerners (rather than Africa) are scammers. Can this be generalised ? No

The lady is speaking from her perspective (and hateful pre-convictions) while Emmanuel is looking for western acceptance.

Nope. Violence is not condonable in any form. I abhor violence in all forms. However you will be making a grand mistake thinking violence is only in the physical form
Seems you are good in rational thinking. let me explain:

Violence is always in physical form. There are other types of abuse (e.g. verbal, emotional etc.) but Violence is PHYSICAL abuse (actual or intent) so when we say NO Violence we mean no physical abuse.

I agree "NO Violence" is tough. It requires restraint and is an anti-thesis of our natural human aggression (even more in males).

How can you beat a girl because she was rude in responding negatively to your advances. Do you know how many guys deserve to be beaten then for been rude to ladies?

Being rude is perspective and what one considers rude, another might not. A girl told me i was not her type and I considered it polite. some other guy would consider that rude. Another girl insinuated I am only interested in sleeping with her and I considered such stereotype rude. again, some other guy would not pick offence at that.

O boy ye! We need to start again in training our boys. Start from the yet to be born. The current ones are un-trainable. Society/environment has beaten them into responding with agression to any form of abuse.

The guy needed a serious relationship with u by asking u to cook. He went out and bought the food to show u he can afford it.

Ur laziness made u lose not just a boyfriend but potential decent husband that will prefer eating in the house instead of outside.
there are no obligations in dating so i dont understand why she has to cook for him.

Every girl who comes to your house including your girlfriend (whatever that means) is a guest. if you share the apartment together, then you should take turns to cook unless it is already agreed that she should cook. Marriage is a different ball-game where obligations actually exist.

ziddy:
The Benin lineage fizzled out late in the 18th century with the ascension to the throne of Ologun Kutere through his mother, Erelu Kuti. His father was an Ijesha man.

Akiolu and all the other princes of Eko draw their genealogical roots from the aborigines of Ijesha-land. They have zero genetic connection to Benin, though the original modes of dressing/paraphernalia subsist.
A benin man just confirmed this. Says there was a matriachial ascension somewhere which took out the Benin patri-lineage in the Lagos throne succession.

So Erelu Kuti was benin right?

Please could you confirm that the Obas of Lagos (especially those from the Ologun Kutere house) prior to Oba Akintoye were buried in Benin.
I see this in many online articles and books. I would like to know if this was fact as I am yet to see any alternative historical account except nairaland comments to the contrary.

There are Biafra Supporters who are not Igbo
There are Biafra Supporters outside the south-east.

These names are Yoruba names and not Benin.
Yorubas and Benin have language links as you would expect from border tribes. A lot of Edos bear Yoruba names and there are words with similar meanings in both languages.

for instance - Eletu Odibo - the title of the King maker in Lagos - is a benin word.

Also, hope you realise that the Obas of Lagos up till Oba Akintoye were buried in Benin

Oba Ado was in fact the first Oba of Lagos placed there by the Oba of Benin and he paid tribute and taxes to the Benin Empire. What I am just trying to say is that the Oba of Lagos is occupied by an Awori King and not by a Benin person. Aworis migrated from Ife to that farm settlement named Eko by the Oba of Benin.
Oba Ado is a son of Ashipa (the Benin Warrior). All Obas of Lagos trace lineage from Ashipa

true. peeps need to understand that Computer Science is not IT.

Computer science is the study of theories underlying computations and the practical/engineering application of those theories.

so your structured programming, Object oriented programming, data structures, Graph theory, Numerical mathematics courses are very valid.

"Graphics" in the context of a computer science curriculum for instance, involves lots of Co-ordinate geometry, Linear Algebra etc.

your screenshot agrees with my definition you quoted - I am confused here.

i said rape requires some form of intercourse or penetration and is only one of the many types of sexual assault.

touching a lady's breast without her consent is sexual assault but not rape.

. A man can't be raped, he can only be indecently assaulted, take note.
A woman can rape a man if she does not obtain consent from him before he penetrates her.

if you think the above statement is dumb, see below three scenarios:

(1) the man is drunk and she takes advantage of it - you can get a hardon while drunk
(2) the man is sleeping - you can get a hard on while unconscious or semi-conscious
(3) she forces him to penetrate her
