Asorockqueen: But the supposed side chick ought to respect the relationship by telling the man to back off, if he persists then report him to his wife you are not getting it. the world is an evil world and side-chick owes the wife no favours. However, the man is obligated to uphold his marital vows. He is the prime antagonist in the story. truth is most men do not cheat because they do not respect their wives. We cheat because we lack the discipline/self control needed to be faithful. So lets bring up our boys to embrace mortification and self-control and hopefully, the next generation of boys will be better than our generation. |

ibkayee: It isn't 'in a way', if the guy has no respect for his marriage/relationship, why would the sidechick? You’d also be surprised at how many sidechicks aren't aware that their partner is already with someone. When she does know though, it's a 50/50 effort at the very least
Women who involve themselves with anyone knowing that they're already in a relationship are a disgrace and you'll probably lose him the same way you got him If na Marriage then I will agree with the bolded. However, the lines of a relationship are blurred. Most ladies guys toast and go out with were probably in a relationship with some other guy. sometimes one party thinks the relationship is still on while another party thinks it is ended or hasnt begun etc. |

Career › Re: Should I Stop Work And Do A Masters Programme? by monex(m): 7:52am On Jul 16, 2017 |
rien05: Hello House,
Kindly advise me on which way to follow. I currently earn 150k per month and I am thinking of enrolling for an MBA in Unilag. My headache is I will have to pick the full time option because it is cheaper and has better lecture hours, which means I have to stop work. Classes are from 9am-2pm weekly. The fee is about 200k. I am skeptical about the part time option because its classes are during the evenings from 4pm to 8pm. I live and work on the island(Ajah) and close by 5pm. My boss won't allow me close by 3pm. He might agree to close at 4pm but even if he agrees to 3pm, there's no way I will get to Unilag before 5:30pm(on a no traffic day) by public transport. And lets say I finish lectures by 8pm, with the traffic and all I might be getting home by 11pm or so(dangerous for a girl). And it will so tell on me because the stress will be too much.(I am already a Lekpa I don't want to disappear). The koko again is that the fees for part time is about 500k.(I just started earning 150k ooh and also ponzi finish my money at the beginning of the year. GREED. don't blame me ohh, many people fell victim with me). The last option is the Executive MBA. Classes are on saturdays from 8pm to 4pm. The fee is about 2Million. I won't even go there. If I say I should do another Masters course it will have to be a science course which are all full time.
My question is should I take the risk to forfeit my job and do my MBA? The forms are out. I want to prepare my mind before buying the form(N22,500). I really want an upgrade to my certificate. I also need money to keep me going because there is no one to lean on. Everybody is forming OYO. And I also don't want to regret embracing an opportunity now that I have money for fees. No one knows tomorrow. Please advise oooohhhhhh mbok do Lagos Business School Executive MBA while working. Wait a bit so you can save some money. They have a few scholarship options too. It is the optimal decision for you |

Desyner: you made sense until you tried turning the table around to favour public uni grads who are mostly guilty of the bold part. Are you telling me covenant allows bribing, cheating, phones, blackmail to pass 50% of workload? That sounds like uniben, unilag, or lautech. As a matter of fact the average public uni grad has about 6 years to study 4years course (lesser workload) unlike private uni. trust me when I tell you that yiu cannot bribe your way into first class. Most first class graduate (both private and public unis) are very intelligent. it is just that because private unis produce more first class, it is assumed that the public unis first class are better. this is also false logic although it has small elements of truth as follows: A public university first class in a class of 300 where he is the only first class student is in the 99.67th percentile A public university first class in a class of 300 where there were 3 first class students is in the 99th percentile A private university first class in a class of 300 where there were 15 first class students is only in the 95th percentile Assumptions: if we rate intelligence by relativity. how much better you are than your peers if we assume that students of private and public unis are equally smart. sometimes, it is more difficult to gain admission to public unis sef we can conclude using the above assumptions that first class of public universities are better than those of private schools Note that I did not make a first class |

Education › Re: Muslim Questions In A Christian Religious Exam In Akwa Ibom Junior WAEC by monex(m): 9:32am On Jul 13, 2017 |
zicoraads: And I still argue, have you seen the syllabus for you to truly know why they learn it? The objectives? These things are not prepared by ordinary church goers. Pastors and reputable men of God usually have considerable input in designing this syllabus. Trust me, it has been there for a long time with constant reviews. If they thought this would cause harm, it would have been gone.
It's just the basics. The founder of Islam. Their holy book. How can that mislead a child the way you are trying to make it sound? If you see anything wrong with this, then you probably have religious bias.
We should be more concerned that a lot of Christians are no longer going to church. We are losing members to those ones who believe there is no God. That is where the battle is. Not here. Good point that it might even be in the syllabus and thus not the examiner's fault. Even then, what i think is ideal is to teach a history of our major religions under the civic education or social studies class. it could be sensitive to teach it under the CRK or IRK |

BetaThings: Yes, as a Muslim I can assure you that we do because total ignorance of Christianity makes it easy for a Muslim to be swayed by Christian doctrine Nothing a Christian says can EVER EVER make me become a Christian because I am familiar with the religion this is the point. it might help that you are logical but for a little child in a secular school, he could develop interest in the religion or begin to hate it. the seminarians and muslim clerics learn about other religion not for secularism but to arm themselves with info to dispel argument favouring the other religion. |
Education › Re: Muslim Questions In A Christian Religious Exam In Akwa Ibom Junior WAEC by monex(m): 9:04am On Jul 13, 2017 |
BetaThings: CRK class is not a secular class and that point destroys your entire argument and this thread Would a secular class frown at the history, doctrines etc of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhaism etc and its exam questions on those other religious beliefs attract an FP page on Nairaland?
Who teach CRK and set the exams? Muslims?
I know that Christianity is not going away in this country, I know that as a Muslim But you Christians say to yourselves that the world would be a better place without Islam and that causes a negative reaction when you see that Islam has not gone do not assume my religion or what i think about islam. i have told you what i think is the place for such a question. this has nothing to do with islamization or the hogwash being branded by christian fanatics. |

zicoraads: So what exactly is your point? Condemning questions being asked in a CRS exam, but not condemning learning about it in a church? Objectives my friend. Objectives. the church teaches the seminarians these things for them to understand that the other religion is not true and this arms them with info and arguments. same with muslim clerics who read the bible to understand. However a child below 12 can be easily mislead to either develop interest in the other religion or to hate the other religion. trust me, what the examiner did there can be easily counter-prodcutive. i do not have religious bias and would say this whether if i was muslim or christian |

BetaThings: But you ignored this i didnt ignore it. it is simply irrelevant to your argument. that was in a catechism class not a secular class. it is deliberate by one religious body to study the other. even catholic priest study other religions. if a muslim cleric teaches tenets of Christianity to his students to see differences or similarities then it is fine ditto for a christian priest. |

Gourdoinc: I don't see anything wrong here. alot of students would have claimed Islam was created by Nathan or it's holy book is called a hymn book. just try and go through the marked scripts and see what Nigerian students are capable of. education Must be holistic and cuts across all divides. so no biggie who founded satanism? if you dont know then your education is not holistic enough. the founder of religions should be taught under social studies or history and not in a religious subject. Belief systems are sensitive and usually conflicting. the question about "holy book" might be sensitive to a christian cos Christians do not consider the quran to be holy. Should the question below appear in an Islamic Religious Knowledge exam: who do Christians consider as the son of God and saviour of the world? |

segebobo: It's not good to be so narrow minded. That you offer CRS does not mean you shouldn't have some knowledge of IRS. An educated student is supposed to be well-rounded or holistic in acquisition of knowledge. should he then learn about the history of guru maharaji and satanism yes satanism is a religion. if a child learns it as part of a hostorical subject then fine. but as part of a religious subject then I would say this is a faux pas |

zicoraads: You cannot say anything here if you don't know what is contained in the syllabus. I have corrected and vetted questions that were to be written by Muslim students of a purely Islamic school. The subject was World History. And the questions contained a lot of questions on Jesus Christ and Christianity. I asked or the syllabus and saw they actually did some work on Christianity. This is a purely Islamic school through and through.
In my church, before being baptized, we spend two years in a catchesim class. We learn about major religions, including Islam. For you to be baptized, you must have a basic knowledge of Islam and other religions as well.
This is normal. Let's stop acting like cavemen and actually read up. the bolded is the difference |
