udumosam23: The problem is not in the merging of subjects into civil and national values. schools can determine which religion to teach in place of the other.
The problem lies with the seventh subject. Either Arabic or French. Now the question is why Arabic? Why not any other foreign language.
There are more important languages than Arabic which as far as I'm concerned is not different from Islam.
Students will be left with no option than to sturdy Arabic in place of French because of the limited number of French teachers across the country as compared to Arabic that every Muslim can teach.
The solution is, if you must bring in Arabic, then increase the number of optional languages to balance the odd. It won't be wrong bringing in Hebrew, Greek or Latin to correspond the slide. there are christians who would be interested in leraning arabic abeg o. I would be interested |

Some of us are busy chasing our own dreams..dream to be a selfmade woman..
And some of us, juz dont believe in marriage as a true happiness..Marriage is NOT for everyone anyway.. this is great and I sense you really dont believe in marriage. however, i know a lot of ladies (even guys now) who join this bandwagon without true convictions. A friend asked me and i told him i would be very miserable if i am not married. this is honesty. guys and ladies be honest with yourselves and ask the question. Will i be ok with being unmarried? If your answer is no (that is marriage will bring you some happiness) then abeg actively work towards it rather than deciving yourselves. indeed there is a clock and this clock exists for both guys and ladies. |

Tayeni: I think what every lady should demand from their society is the assurance that her options are open and with no restrictions or glass ceilings whichever path yiu decide to toe. Whether you choose to be a stay at home mom or a boardroom lady, you should support this. In Nigeria though, more women are needed in productive or economic endeavors. And men should see this not as a threat to their existence or selfworth. Men should have more confidence to accept this. I think rejection of this comes from a place of insecurity. perfect!!! This is what equal opportunities mean |

there are so many variants of feminism. well for me, when i talk about gender equality, I talk about equality in dignity and opportunities. I do not mean that women should be encouraged to be men. We all have our roles/obligations to society and these roles aren't same.
it is societal stereotypes (including the some variants of feminism) that makes certain roles women are naturally inclined to play look like inferior roles.
Instead of society to glorify roles like nurturing children that women are naturally gifted towards, society (including some feminists) make it look like the woman is a slave and needs to be empowered to seat at board rooms etc.

So, you mean you will be a biaflan and be competing for business and residential spaces with Nigerians without being PROPERLY taxed as a foreigner? (Which is even subject to approval by Nigeria govt).
Pls in which obodo is this done? the people you talk about still have their nigerian passports and are yet to renounce their nigerian citizenship. dalaman: Most of your write up is just so nonsensical that I don't know where to begin from. Everything written up there is just empty assertion that makes no sense at all. I will just take one of them and show you that your assertions are false.
This is completely false. How can the pinnacle of moral perfection engage on evil? The bible is some.places has God doing evil, and apologizing for his evil deeds.
(Exod. 32:14), “And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: For I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you. Jeremiah 42:10
Why is your God doing evil and repenting? A perfect God that is the pinnacle of morality that goes about doing evil is impossible.
As usual you have come to just expose your self and you weak and ill thought out arguments that make no sense at all. OPs assertion of God being good does not portray it well as "God is goodness" or "God is the perfection of good". better lets put it this way - good simply means what pleases God while evil means what displeases God. We get our nature of goodness from God. Any number no matter how large becomes a zero when compared to infinity. any time no matter how long becomes the tiniest second when compared to infinity. Therefore, our good, no matter how great, remains imperfect unlike God's perfect goodness. The context of evil in that biblical phrase comes from use of english. evil here is justice while repenting is mercy. |

Mujtahida: I understand her logic and that of another guy I responded to(my response to him you just quoted) but that's just plain legalism without understanding the dynamics of human nature, culture, history and relationships. Remember this touches not just on culture but religious culture. I lived in Akure. They have pagan festivals that they do sometimes during which all shops would be locked till say12pm. Clearly that amounts to a violation of constitutional rights but as a wise human being who respects people you just abide by it. Even Pastors will tell you to respect it just for PEACE AND AMITY to reign. Next day shops will open and business will go on as usual.
I understand their thinking and it's very tragic. What it means is that I as a Nigerian will not bend a little to accommodate and show respect for the culture of other Nigerians -religious one at that-to the extent that it can even cause conflict but when I get my own Republic and a foreigner I will respect that same culture because I have become a foreigner. Is this not why Nigerians can defecate on public highways and mess up public utilities here in Nigeria (no respect for maintenance and hygiene culture) but they will carefully abide and act properly when they travel abroad. You see how poor, how debased, how twisted our thinking is?
As a Nigerian I should respect the cultural values of other Nigerians and not expect foreigners to do so. I didnt see your second response to the other guy. Meanwhile, i absolutely agree with this post |
Politics › Re: Biafra Vs Arewa Face Off: The Five Major Issues We Must Not Fail To Understand by monex(m): 2:36pm On Jun 14, 2017 |
Mujtahida: Why is it so difficult for people to understand things. So in other words when you have Biafra you will respect their culture there because you are foreigners and they are foreigners to you? As in while you cannot respect (according to you because of the constitution) the culture in the North as Igbo Nigerians, you will respect it as Biafrans in the North of Nigeria when Biafra becomes a reality? Constitution? Don't you have commonsense? This is your logic: Nigerians should not respect the culture of other Nigerians because we are all Nigerians but foreigners should respect the culture of all Nigerians because they are foreigners.
I am shaking my head. No wonder we are in this mess. Please how old are you-no vex-cos I like to interact with matured minds. I am shocked at your logic. while i agree with you and disagree with her. This is her logic for clarity: She is obligated to obey the constitution and only that. if the constitution as at today does not forbid something, She is not oligated to do it out of respect for culture/religion. If Biafra comes and then she is a foreigner in Nigeria, she will respect Nigeria's constitution which should include not drinking beer during fasting or not wearing bumshorts. for the records, the above logic is not sensible too |
