Also please don't underestimate the power and influence of Nairaland e-wars. I had a friend. She is Yoruba. Very good friend and very educated. She would always make references to topics and posts on here, during our conversations. What I'm saying is, tribal e-wars creep into our subconscious and we act it out in real life. Ibos and Yorubas can be best partners in growth and economic advancement, we can use the synergy to be great as a people. (As can be seen from marriages of Ibo and Yoruba couples).

i cant cook for instance but i order my soups and make my rice, and swallows. I have lived like that for many years in contentment. I could actually continue (and prefer) to live like that after marriage but the culture will stare you in the face after marriage. in fact it could even be your wife not being comfortable with you ordering your soups and making eba for both of you.

i only pointed out that asking Mary to pray for them is not because they worship her but because they believe in communion/intercession of saints. I never said the communion of saints doctrine is biblical. most biblical references i see supported it are in the second canon which is not part of the popular bible (1st canon).

asking Mary to pray for us is actually from the doctrine of "Communion of the saints". Catholics believe that saints in heaven can pray for us here. This does not discount that Jesus is the only way. Catholics tell Mary (and/or other saints) to pray for them the same way you asks your pastor or mum or friend to pray for you.
