How can newbies decide on the best strategy for them? Thanks in advance.

Read as much as you can. Discuss with smart guyz already in the game and making profits.
When you are ready like 6 months to 1 year of research and study. Take 10% of your money and invest it. Observe what happens for 1-2 years and by then you will have better understanding. Then take another 20% and make better choices for another 1-2 years. If after this time you have good returns you will know what to do next

Or skip this process and find someone that’s good and making profit and invest with them. Again don’t give them everything. Maybe like 10-15% for 2 years and then decide to withdraw or add extra 20-30%. If after this time you have good returns you will know what to do next

Or just invest in standard institutions
Regulated by sec
Don’t go below top 5 when starting and make sure they have been around for 10-15 years

Do your research. Good luck undecided

The outstanding shares will determine the earnings per share, which will affect the share price.

Stanbic IBTC made a profit after tax of N80 billion in 2020.

GTB made N195 billion.

Stanbic has less than 12 billion shares while GTB has about 30 billion shares.

Do the maths and calculate their EPS and likely share price using an industry average PE ratio of 5

Nice one sir

As Money Manager you should know that there is no relationship between Stock Price and Market Leadership.

A stock selling at N10 can have a bigger market share, profitablity, efficiency, earning growth than a stock selling at N50.

It is so simple

This statement is not true
Usually the industry leading company in the financial market has greater focus by investors and leading price which dictates its position and value.

Check stocks and industries globally

I am amazed at your arrogance but then again you are just showing us your character undecided

You are a smart investor. I was surprised by the elementary question being asked a whole Money Manager

Why are you this arrogant. You must be a millionaire in dollars

was it not your post referenced not 14 post from this comment that says be humble

So it’s do as I say not as I do

That’s investopedia
@Mpeace - I said stock price and that’s what I meant

@emmanuelewumi on a serious note don’t attack people for asking questions. If I know, I won’t ask. If you have knowledge share if you don’t feel like it then ... undecided

Industry leader doesn't necessarily mean price of stock.
Analyst look at market capitalization, depositors funds, profit after tax, market share etc. Not just just share price.
Mind you some years back IBTC did share reconstruction otherwise the price used to revolve round N10.

Nice one sir
Hopefully GTB and Zenith will take similar stock price value appreciation moves soonest undecided
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by moneymanager: 3:41pm On Jun 12, 2021
Wait O
If GTB is the industry leader (supposedly), how come stanbic is doing better than both GTB and Zenith from a market evaluations perspective undecided

Me I can’t say who you should contact for help ooo or who has the answer that will help you

But maybe you can look through the thread and see those that post important stock information and that other members look for and thank and ask for information

Maybe those are the ones you should reachout to for help.

Then again the say don’t start a sentence with “but” so what do I know undecided

Fixed Income trading is another field entirety. The platform for the trading of fixed income is far more active and liquid than NSE

Which I just started learning.

Bonds of N100 with a coupon of N15, went to as high as N180 to give a coupon of N15 and yield of 8.3% between 2019 and 2020.

Imagine what a balanced fund that invests in both equities and fixed income would have achieved.

Selling such bonds at N180 to buy Zenith at N15 during the lockdown to get a dividend yield of 20%. Which some fund managers actually did

Some balanced funds achieved 40% last year

Mehn, this life is not equal at all.
Thanks for the info sir

My bother buying in tranches is ok..but some very heavy retail value investors are busy making money in fixed income securities while they sit tight for the pickings when the FPIs will begin to react and offload...just a matter of time..b/w 2022/2023.

If they are in fixed income, then their interest is below inflation. I mean I know the value is in hundreds of millions of naira but it’s still kind of a loss in value ultimately

So far no bond or fix investment is making any returns of 18%. Heaven only knows what the devaluation will do to inflation by year’s end undecided

I will wait till 3rd week in July and see.
If it’s still hovering on this side then I will accept GTB is not for me and move the best stock possible by then undecided

Okay. Thanks sir
Erm...do you have a guesstimate/speculation as to what’s likely to happen afterwards

The only similar info I got from guyzs was to stay away from Access in particular and that it seems a large degree of the funds leaving GTB is foreign

Again not my opinion undecided

Reason why steady cash flow is necessary if you want to enjoy this business, yields in the bond market are currently going up at over 13%

Patience is not a problem, else I would’ve jumped in since January.

Neither is steady flow
I just don’t want to be the one left holding the bag. Also highly skeptical about the buy intrenches approach

Been reading nairametrics articles and their articles are suggestive that the reason bond and fix deposits were brought so low was to in a way convince insurance fund managers to get into the market

Now that returns are going back up in the bonds space wouldn’t it be right to be skeptical

I have faith in the market just ... undecided

Naira has been devalued. Last I checked inflation was pushing 18%

This should mean that any investment move that returns less than 19% annually is at a loss now.

Abeg financial analysts pls educate us

I only used %0.2 to buy GTB
Let me invest before I loose 18% money value this year undecided
