Sharmeenator: Oh my goodness ![]() ![]() How can you do this Sir ? This is why, senior members always say do your due diligence because some opinions are based on partial information. Others might even be correct but may take a month, 6 months or a year to actualize and investor must be sure they can go the distance Pls non senior members like me if you know your information is one sided, we all appreciate it and thank you to mention the technical or fundamental analysis utilized to derive the conclusion/prediction ![]() ![]() @y’all, if you are not in the market yet and are looking at medium to long term and are not good at day trading and jijo, you can see the market is going down, why not wait abit till you are abit sure it won’t sink too low Its common knowledge that prices fall after dividends payments and if they are falling now already then what do you think will happen after dividends ![]() ![]() Due Diligence is keenly advised Record sell-offs persists in medium and low capitalized Nigerian stocks https://nairametrics.com/2021/02/16/record-sell-offs-persists-in-medium-and-low-capitalized-nigerian-stocks/ Nigeria’s inflation hits 16.47% as food prices soar to record high https://nairametrics.com/2021/02/16/nigerias-inflation-hits-to-16-47-as-food-prices-soar-to-record-high/ By working together we can achieve great things

As an investor you must wonder why they want people to leave the market now. Shine your eyes ![]() ![]() 1 Like

Somebody is gutting this market savagely Interest rates have been low since and they could’ve raised it since but they didn’t. The right thing to do is wait for dividends to be released before increasing the rates but the person knows that after dividends are released the market will fall. So they are taking steps now to reduce the prices so that those who win in dividends don’t in price appreciation The market is being gutted. The fall of prices after dividends will be crazy. Somebody said waiting for GTB at 29. Hmmmm GTB is the financial sector industry leader. Where it goes the others follow. In my view 29&: high sef. ![]() ![]() 1 Like

Why isn’t anyone talking about OMO bonds ![]() ![]() Sure it’s less than inflation which is about 15% but it’s much higher than any other non-risky investment Fixed deposits of banks - about 1% Hida of Access - 2.5% Top 10 Investment houses fixed deposit rates - 1% (e.g Meristem) This is the best move for a lazy investor that’s quite secure. Sure they are some investment houses offering 10% but they aren’t top 10 and it’s a risk going with them (FCSL - 7%) Noble serve capital - 10% Perhaps this new raise of OMO bonds interest rates could explain the reason why the market was down in the financial sector for the last two trading days. Also new of devaluation is back with full force. https://businesspost.ng/economy/investors-continue-to-abandon-nigerian-stocks-as-omo-bills-yields-rise/amp/?fbclid=IwAR0ZRPXe-NnsMyDLZ6k6xJHXv9ews_WDZl6cAHDGAc7WrkgMIy33dIY1aw8 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-05/rising-nigerian-central-bank-yields-may-signal-naira-devaluation

megawealth01: If I hear Sometime in mid 2016 A particular master on this forum shouted to buy FCMB. I followed and everyday I watched the stock on Morgan Capital Everyday the stock was trading at a loss but at the end of the trading day it was always a few percentage above the previous trading day Na so I buzz my Oga here and asked if he was the one buying all the remaining sells just as the market was about to close to raise the price. He just laughed The logic was working because at the start of the next day the traders will start selling at the last sold price and this helped push up the stock and then in about 2-3 weeks or so there was a positive financial news (not too sure which one it was back then - I think it was the release of the 10 major banks in naija or so but not sure) that drove bank stocks up and FCMB was already in a good point to it went higher and then, we were advised to sell Now you know Don’t say there aren’t market makers here You don’t know the funds guyz have or the influence or knowledge Needless to say more ![]() ![]() |

bigjay01: So an approach one may take is this Let naija money stay in naija For you to invest here you must visit at times so manage the money you send here in such a way that it provides yearly funds for any naija activity See it this way if you are living in naija and not traveling, you wouldn’t change your funds to foreign currency because of fear of inflation or devaluation so see naija funds as money that will remain in naija for the long term 20-30 years if possible. Have separate annual targets for the funds in different countries Like you can try 15-50% profit annually for naija Pls note that for places like the states 10% returns is a great result As your naija funds grows and you keep researching and investing you will learn more and know how to manage it better I believe as long as naija funds remains in naija then it’s nit really a loss. You may convert profits The gain in taxes also matters as you pay far less taxes in naija than abroad After about 3-5 years you may compare results of the different indexes you are in and see if it’s actually worth it ![]() ![]() Note this approach requires vigilance You must know what’s going on in the different markets you are playing If you can work with others in the markets so you have financial herd immunity for financial covid ![]() ![]() 1 Like |

OBAGADAFFI: My goodness It’s amazing to see how some people rationalize misinformation. Mehn ![]() ![]() You and the article said best market for last year. Bloomberg said best run. A dude can have his best run and still be the last guy in a race if all the others also improve. I also included a list of the best performing markets Can’t believe you came back with this argument A man should know when he has made a blunder Am shocked by this 100% Mehn Best performing market and now best performing since 2013 my goodness You didn’t say had it’s, you said was the... Or is this an English problem now Chai ![]() ![]()

OBAGADAFFI: @Newbies, This is why you do your research with what people say here. Google “best performing stocks markets 2020 Nigeria position” you will get an article by the cable with a link to Bloomberg. Click the link and you will get a Bloomberg article that says something entirely different. Then google “best performing stock markets for 2020” and you won’t see NSE anywhere on the list Don’t dull guyz Research everything This is what Madam good luck called Chai!! . Our people Oga OBAGADAFFI, Good evening Sir ![]() ![]()

@GANDALF1 Don’t worry about these guyz. Just keep making your post to the newbies and give them your sincere advise about the market and warning so they don’t miss road. The funny thing is these guyz are so selfish they don’t realize that instead of exploiting the naive few here they could work as a team and using the influence of the number here buy and sell in unison which would create good entry and exit and create profit for all here but they choose to manipulate and take advantage. Anyways ... Someone pls give us detailed analysis on zenith bank and prediction. At newbies don’t trade with 100% of funds if not sure. It’s better to say I should have invested more than to say I lost it all. Use 10% to test investors advice and increase it when you know the person to be credible A good man does not pass on experience of sufferings. A bad man says you are an adult endure. Shine your eyes guyz ![]() ![]() God bless Nigeria and God bless and prosper everyone

Justcul: Speculators take the most risk. They evaluate penny and new stocks. Take high risks and when it pays off they make huge rewards but also when it doesn’t ... They are more frequent in entering and exiting the market and majorly short term traders Focus is price appreciation Investors take very calculated risks. The focus on blue chip companies and tried and tested principles. The don’t make as much as speculators but they don’t lose as much either (note not all speculators lose) They are medium term traders Focus is more on price appreciation plus dividends Money managers are the most boring kind of people in the stock market because their main goal is capital preservation. They try to eliminate as much risk as possible. They usually stay away from the market in fixed deposits and t-bills. They only enter the market in known seasons and buy tired and tested stocks Usually long term traders Focus is more on dividends The great thing is you can decide what kind of trader you wanna be and ofcourse you can also switch from one kind to the other or even combine strategy with varying percentage of your finance. I think someone is playing with GTB and Zenith bank. Just selling enough shares to put them at an end of day loss. That’s why for the last few days the are at a loss but barely above 1% ![]() ![]() 3 Likes

Coolcash1: Don’t dull Sir There is short selling (not marginal landing - I asked to ensure it was different) on the NSE but am not too sure how to activate it yet Last year January I called and sent several emails about it until I finally got a response call from the NSE and was told it was available If memory serves it was one of the top 2 trading houses that have this option available I emailed the house and they confirmed it but given how volatile naija stuff is I didn’t follow through. Also my knowledge of short selling wasn’t that strong so I let sleeping dogs... http://www.nse.com.ng/products/equities/short-selling It’s the top investment houses that do it I asked Morgan and meristem at the time and all they have is marginal lending Funny enough many of the houses don’t even know it exist GTB - 8 trading days 7 days down. 1 day up (Take note) ![]() ![]()

BrokerHaruna: This guy you are sharp Investors no dey use novice eyes dey look NSE. Imagine if someone with access to the system at a higher level wants to manipulate the market What does he do? He blocks traders on the first day after a holiday and then ensures there is bull run so then those guyz are filled with anticipation and anxiety. When they have access the next dey they will jump in and then the bad actor will simply sell the stocks. Open your eyes people They say technical glitch but what exactly caused this glitch and why were others able to take advantage. There are very smart guys in the NSE Learn from this 2021 first two dey trading education and let it make your smart throughout the year. Shine your eyes ![]() ![]() 1 Like
