Funny enough those who had thier eyes open saw this in goodluck before the elections. People let sentiments cloud thier judgment, That said he must now find in him good leadership and pull this country out of this mess. He starts by picking himself people who are prepared to tell him the truh and guide him. I am convinced that goodllucks biggest problem are his advisers. he must now drop loyalty and seek competence, there are good hands out there if only he is prepared to listen. he must now step up and seek wise councelling |
I think all this has just exposed the otter chaos that exist in Government. Just gives us an insight into the people who claim to serve us. The problem is that the signs where there for anyone devoid of emotions to see, Goodluck and his cronies were just not up to the job. were we not experiencing high levels of violence before the elections, what did his govement do about it? nothing, we just let ourselves get carried away, believing that mango will suddenly give birth to paw-paw. The country is in real trouble and people need to pull thier fingers out and start working, that is if they understand thier job description |
Very weak statement |
Time for Nuhu Ribadu? |
@Beaf, You and I discussed this in another thread if you remember. I wont go as far as IG, probably DIG |
Simple. quit your job. I know people have been suggesting creating boundaries and all that, but believe me when things want to happen they will. it is easier to stay away from fire than trying to dance around it |
Bros, it is not all about Oil subsidy. protests will still go on untill there are full scale reforms in our country |
Bloody lie |
No security in that country |
But some who supported Goody, shouted Pat down. We Nigerians cause our own problems |
El -Rufai, Opportunist and Crook? That is a very wicked thing to accuse him off. Where are the other well meaning PDP people? Like I always say, we are quick to insult those who dare to stand up and speak for the weak amongst us. I for one find no fault with the man. If people had their ears open they would hear loud and clear what he has been saying for year. |
@Beaf, Finally, na ya picture be dat? |
@DonMontana, well said. I campained tirelessly for Pat last election, but na so so cuss Nigerians sabi do. You know the saying a Prophet is never accepted in his hime land comes to mind. sometimes we deserve what we get, maybe we as a people need to learn the hard way. People dont understand that it takes a lot for a good person in Nigeria to raise his or her head up above the parapet and ask to lead. We simply shoot down the good amongst us, and celebrate the thieves |
Beaf, my Delta brother, this na 2012. I think say you don leave this thing behind. Talk your mind, no cuss person join. U know say for Warri ,man wey no fit talk im mind complete, carry cuss join am, na woman wrapper we dey call dem. Make we leave all this cuss-cuss for 2011, no forget say this year you dey marry wife, show maturity, you no be small boy anyomore. |
Na wha oh. Oga Beaf - master of disguise, now be you tire wrapper carry read purse for that pishure. Shooting protesters, threatening meida houses, now this. Very bad. |
This is indeed wicked, and makes Goodlucks argument lose all credibility. I thought we were in a democracy. For all those arguing for removal, I guess this now answers your questions. there is no sincerity of purpose in this government |
People dont resign in Nigeria, they either get sacked or die on the Job. It is very un-nigerian to resign |
@Londoner that is true. Mentality really needs to change, but that is so difficult in a country which has suffered such gross under development for so long. I really hope this whole thing truns out right for the common man |
@londoner, you are so right. I am not against the removal per se, But before you make such a bond move, you must ensure adequate cushion has been put in place for the masses. Nigerians have just been seen as a very soft target. Jona should have used his notorious balls of steel to face NASS first, then the masses would be more receptive to this bitter medicine |
@Londoner, you speak well. However the common Nigerian has been taken for a ride for far too long. I can assure you most will fall in line if they actually see services working for them. Nigerians just dont trust the governemt, and rightfully so |
Interesting. Maybe Jona would have better sold his idea if he has started with reducing cost of running his government. Show the common man that he is towing a prudent line. How much is it again we spend on the NASS members? For those saying that feul is expensive in the UK, Yes it is, but the Minimum wage is set @ #270K a month, and by the way, the transport system is excellent, so really owning and driving a car does not become a neccesity for all. Lets not forget that the UK government put off increasing the customary 1p yearly increase because of the state of the economy. That is listening and understanding the masses They might be merits in the case of removal of subsidy, but the timing and conditions are not suitable. Really is this the most pressing issue in Nigeria right now? |
At least these group are doing something about it. And with the development of Singapore, one cant be too angry, But guess what, I nigeria, we rather take away the small benefit the masses enjoy, whilst maintaining fat pay for Oga and his Boys |
Singapore's highly-paid ministers face massive pay cuts, following a recommendation by a government-appointed committee. The prime minister's salary is to be slashed by 36% and the president's by 51%. The salary committee was set up after parliamentary elections last year that saw the ruling party secure its lowest overall vote since 1965. The government intends to accept the recommendations, local media said. Even with the 36% pay cut, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will still be one of the highest-paid political leaders in the world with S$2.2m ($1.7m, £1.08m) a year. In comparison, US President Barack Obama earns about $400,000. President Tony Tan, with a cut of 51%, will still earn S$1.5 million. Members of parliament and political appointees are also included in the salary cuts. Entry-level ministers will get a pay cut of 37%, with an annual salary starting from S$1,100,000. The recommendations are based on "a salary formula that features fixed and variable pay components which are linked to individual performance and national outcomes", according to the report released by the committee. The recommendations will be debated in parliament this month. Singapore's highly-paid ministers face massive pay cuts, following a recommendation by a government-appointed committee. Very caustic comments, why not just wish them well. Saying goes "If you have nothing good to say about others, then shut-up" No one really knows what life has got planned for them |
Well said PU |
An insight to the good life that successive useless governments have denied their people. You wait till folks understand that there is good healthcare, schools, roads out there, and it is thier entitlement. |
@Jakumo, And you have proof of what you are saying? or once again you are just being a typical Nigerian, full of contradictions and hypocricy |
@Jakumo You have no point, so please go and sit down. People like you are the real problem Nigeria has, a bundle of contradiction. |
Happy Birthday to a genuinely good man, Gen Buhari. |
This is really terrible, but I doubt that the almost 1trillion naira would make any difference. Simple question, how come the likes of Ghana, Senegal, etc which have lesser security budgets are not experiencing dire security situations? The government just hasnt got it sourced. @ Beaf, you are I discussed this some time ago, about getting help to restructure our security services. they are just not fit for purpose A real sad day for every Nigerian |
Jealousy, hate and greed is why Nigeria cannot succeed |
El Rufai's name is clear. Go and hold the big thieves still in government |
