I found both rick and Darryl's sanctimonious attitudes and lectures hypocritical. if rick sent carol away cos he felt her presence would lead to problems within the group upon tyrese learning the truth then fine. but all that nonsense about not trusting her around his kids was utter crap and b.s. even worse was him trying to sell his decision as good for her, like leaving an attractive lady out on the road all alone isn't a death sentence, but a summer cruise. then Darryl chewing bob out for simply grabbing some shepe for system. yet this is the same guy who was travelling with and scavenging drugs and prescription pills for the longest time along with drugged up merle. as if he hasn't gotten high since the zombie apocalypse himself |
See what sublime Vettel has turned F1 and even this thread into. Not a single comment the entire weekend. ![]() I saw qualifying and the main race and it is clear that the others have all given up. These teams better be prepared next season cos Seb is like a machine, his consistency is scary. |
elampiro: Carrick is part of the reason our midfield play is slow and we allow opponents too much time on the ball.Yes but he also the main reason for our composure in midfield on and off the ball. Also the main man responsible for our ability to retain possession and build consistent attacks. |
Also hope the thug who stamped on Januzaj's ankle is brought before the F.A. Clearly the officials missed it. |
SailorXY: ^^this is not about players who give super-human performances against Man United, which is the long & short of all that epistle. All player transfer is even a risk, having uncertain outcome. The irony of this statement reeks considering some of the things you have regularly posted regarding Tom C reeks. I won't dig up your previous post and comments on Tom C and others to show your inconsistency, because I don't want this to become a long Coogar vs Elampiro argument. But agreed no more unnecessary rubbishing of playing staff. lol Did you see how Jones was totally ineffective in the 2nd half when it was Fellaini who played alongside him. Where was his dynamism then? in the 1st half Jones had a partner who was able to receive the ball in difficult positions, still retain possession and one who was actual able play an accurate one touch pass, thereby moving the ball quicker, avoiding the press of the position and making the space and time for Jones to look good, the same thing he did against Norwich. It is easy to not see positives Tom C brings because he doesn't play in the exact way we may sometimes want, but that doesn't mean they aren't positive attributes which are useful and not easily available in others. No need for long argument. We are agreement that we need dynamism for our central midfield and yes Tom C needs to improve and play with a bit more adventure. But that will be difficult with Carrick as our midfield maestro. Did you see the greater urgency we played with against Norwich and even for the opening 30 mins yesterday. With Carrick as the base it will be difficult to do that on a consistent basis. Shalom |
SailorXY: But this is the same Fellaini that excelled against our midfield & made our team look like amateurs on more than one occassion, did same against Chelsea, City, Liverpool & Arsenal; how did he suddenly become a terrible player to even start drawing comparism with Cleverley? If argument can be held about giving Cleverley game time for optimum performance, I see no reason why same won't hold for Anderson or Fellaini or Nani or Zaha...These wrongheaded type of arguments were persistently being made over the summer and is why we paid over the odds for a player who still needs a ton of work and development at the age of 26 in order to play central midfield for a club like United. Yakubu had a solid goal scoring record against United, does that make him a big team player. Brad Friedel would often times give super human performances against United. I guess that makes him a top club goalie. e.t.c. I guess we should have bought both these guys. Where did Fellaini play in these supposed dominant displays and what were the qualities he showed in them. e.g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43QjOV2G7-c That is his dominant performance against us in Everton colors. No doubt MOM performance, but now what in that clip signifies a solid central midfielder, much less one who can compliment Carrick and help solve our midfield concerns. Even in games he played central midfield for Everton, he was often times an extra midfielder with great liberties and freedom and was pretty ordinary, until he roamed higher up the pitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzgMwbP18CQ What in that clip is better than Anderson or Jones, much less Cleverley? This is his best performance from central midfield for Everton according to most Evertonians. Was he not passing sideways and backwards even more than Cleverley. How many fouls did he commit? 84% pass completion? Only noteworthy thing was his aerial solidity. Yet this was his best performance as a central midfielder? Tom C gets slaughtered on United forums for giving slightly better performances. Is it any wonder Moyes himself waited for all the other deals to fall through before desperately overpaying to avoid ending up empty handed. Fellaini is not yet a United quality central midfielder and regardless of how rubbish you believe Tom C is, he is much better than Fellaini for now and the foreseeable future until Fellaini seriously improves. Considering Fellaini is 2 years older and much more experienced, I know which one I have more expectations of improvement from. |
elampiro: In our last league game against Stoke, we got better when Cleverley went out. Today we got worse when cleverley went out. May be the difference was not only Cleverly but the whole setting. We got better cos we had worn Stoke down after they had spent well over an hour parking the bus and trying to hang on till the final whistle. It had less to do with Tom c leaving, than the change of tempo in bringing on Januzaj, Valencia and Chica which stretched Stoke beyond their breaking point. |
Was I not insisting during the summer that we sign at minimum 2 central midfielders. If I thought Tom C had no need for improvement, I would have been with Coogar saying we only needed one addition. Tom C has plenty of room for improvement and I have never said otherwise. What I can't tolerate is does who insist on ignoring and downgrading the good things he brings to this team. The same people who were insisting we spend 27.5m on Fellaini or anybody and were immediately putting him/them in the starting line-up, because they were so sure that any warm body is better than Tom C. Yet they have now seen that Fellaini who looked so great at Everton, now looks ten times worse than the Tom C who they claim is more suited to playing for relegation threatened teams. Stop scapegoating him for the failures in central midfield. Stop over exaggerating his weaknesses and ignoring his strengths. |
@ Dademola & Sailor XY. Do you remember how many seasons it took Ramsey before he started displaying the form he is currently showing. Yet you insist we toss Cleverley to scrap heap in what is really his 2nd season in the United 1st team. With this sort of attitude Beckham, G. Neville and Scholes probably wouldn't have made it at United. |
elampiro: What kind of 2nd half was that?I am too sad to even say "I told you so". |
why did we see it fit to spend £27.5m on a supposed midfielder, yet still resort to playing a defender in midfield? |
If no Carrick, then Fellaini and Cleverley. Perfect chance to see what Fellaini can do in the main DM position. |
Abeg what is with this over rating of Maggie and downgrading Glen. Personally Karen is better pick than Maggie (youthfulness aside). ![]() |
Moyes is already making significant changes. Its not until Moyes sacks the entire behind the scenes staff and sells off several 1st teamers, while bringing in more Evertonians like Jagielka, Baines, Osman, e..t.c. before you can see he is making major changes. Our playing style is incredibly different from how we have ever played. It doesn't matter that it is pretty much the same team and even starting eleven. Moyes has made significant strategic changes to our style of play. Moyes had the chance to bring in the type of players who could have helped played his type of footy, but he didn't. So now he needs to play to strength of the squad he has now. We can't afford to fall much further back else the title challenge is doomed. Solid article http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/stats-prove-united-won-t-win-league-145247230.html |
Won't really miss him either way? |
abeg that is not true. no be only obese apati's with more tribal marks than teeth that are farm babes. even in some of the poorest areas you will see farm babes wey make sense pass super models. |
I dont think I have seen a player do so much with brief cameo appearances than Fabio. If he is released at the end of the season as rumored, someone is going to be getting a mouth wateting prospect, who just needs a team to show faith in him. |
chamotex: 27.5mWeren't you the one screaming desperation and how we should just sign anybody before deadline day. No complain oh. ![]() |
So its Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the next round surely. The F.A won't miss the chance to give the toughest possible draw this time. |
Jones and Cleverley look good. Cleverley in particular, keeps the tempo up. Everybody is just looking better than Fellaini in midfield for United. ![]() |
Would have liked to see Fabio given a run out, but solid team, only change would have been Ando for Jones. This is a chance for Tom C to show if he can step up, now that he is free from Carrick dictating things in midfield. |
He can't even make the Ballon d'Or 23 man shortlist, yet he wants to ask for a raise. Only way he justifies such a demand, is if he has a world player of year type season with United and phenomenal WC with England. Until then he should consider himself lucky if he gets out of negotiations with the wages he has presently. |
from the looks of episode 4 every healthy body has left the prison unprotected. what happens if the walkers build up at the weaker points of the fence again. Maggie can't handle it alone. always suspected it was one the main group who baked Karen and David. |
elampiro: EPL: Ferdinand own goal costs Man Utd.the rate at which shit is happening to hart. it's quite likely he is actually shit himself. |
Seems Lewandoski to Bayern isn't quite a forgone conclusion. We might want to kick the tyres on that one. RVP is no spring chicken and Rooney is Rooney. |
Well its officially over. Haven't commented in a while but I have still been following the races. I can't lie this season has been more boring than any off the previous years despite a promising start. Pirelli need to take it easy with the tyres, its turning things into something of a procession. Some will whine, moan and groan about Vettel and Red Bull being too dominant and destroying the spectacle of F1. But the blame this season lies squarely on the shoulders of the competition. No matter what some may say, Red Bull didn't start the season with a superior car and even now I doubt they have a car much faster than the others. Fact is that the other teams can't match Vettel and Red Bulls consistency and discipline. They have had 4 years to get this sorted, yet the likes of Mclaren, Ferrari, Mercedes keep making the same mistakes year to year. Just more consistency from these guys and we would at least have a WDC and constructors race that went on much longer. But the teams who would rather give-up as soon as they fall behind and proceed to whine about Red Bulls invincibilty, while hoping for some magic fix with a tweaking of rules, tyres e.t.c to give them an edge. |
elampiro: Lie about what? You are the greatest liar on this thread. If only you could look at yourself in the mirror. What facts, when you and some others were down-grading DDG on this forum at the end of last season, myself, Coogar and a whole host of others decimated all your conclusion with numerous statistics from a variety of sources. You had to resort to posting biased match reports from journalists determined to undermine our goalie, the same who turned a blind eye Hart's regular failings. Also your point was hardly limited to aerial balls. You said repeatedly that Hart was better all round goalie and even claimed he was less error prone. I don't have the energy to dig out the pages and comments. Just accept that maybe you didn't see what was apparent to a number of us last season, because you weren't comfortable with the idea of DDG in goal. Everybody is talking like Hart only started making errors this season, but he has dropping clangers since around November/December of last year and has now only started drawing attention. |
coogar: de gea should be sold - hart is the best keeper on the planet. he controls his box & i don't panic when the aerial incursions keep flying in. we must get hart by january. Also he inspires confidence in his defenders. |
I really wish we could swap DDG for Hart as some on this thread have wanted. |
Meulensteen worked in every department at the football club, as skills development coach in the academy, with the reserve team, technical coach for first-team players and many more. This position was specially created for him by SAF. It is not a simple of replacing him with anybody. Besides it clear from Moyes hands on approach and emphasis on running and fitness, that there isn't a lot of room left for someone of Rene's skill set working with the 1st team. This probably why SAF was particular about Moyes retaining Rene even if Phelan and co had to move on. |
