So pointing out your misguiding opinion about leaving abroad and condition of things has now translated to arrogance?

It just goes to show the type of person you are hence your view on this issue.

People leaving abroad without a job for a year or two does not means they are lazy or using it as an excuse not to help anybody back home hence my initial question to you.

Again if you work and making an honest living then you should understand that not everybody has disposable income at a certain time to carry out a big money project back home.
Pretty much the point i was trying to make... When you tell people that, they immediately play dumb and re-emphasize that point of

helping no matter what. Your last 10 kobo, just send it in the name of helping while you go hungry for the rest of the month, smh

I really don't know what to tell you. So what you're saying is that before you could help somebody that the possibility of you getting help also must be there? Why are you asking me to read your perspective carefully? Is it because you know that what wrote lacks human kindness and empathy? Will you vow that you have not received help from people before? Please, if this is the kind of perspective you have then it's a shame and I don't want to understand them
no need. Your remixing the whole thing and jumping into conclusions based on nothing...

Bottom line is, It is only someone who is fed that can help. not someone who is hungry.

The perspective i was referring to ( That you wrongly interpreted) was to analyze all sides of the story.

Everyone on here taking on here, thinking they have an opinion. We are only hearing one side of the story.

The debate here should be Why is the uncle not helping the Op if he is doing OK as the OP placed it??

Dont quote me if your not going to answer constructively.

What a write-up! I must say I gained one or two things from what you wrote, Kudos! But we should endeavour to help when we have the means to help, some people are just wicked and selfish to help others. Once again, nice stuff.
The bolded is quite alarming, really??

I am not against helping people but maybe the person in need should not see situations from his or her perspective??

The OP claims that the Uncle is doing fine but he doesn't want to help her. Really?? And she knows this because??

Even if that information is true, does she know how that uncle got the means to be in quote "doing fine". At least she has

someone to ask help from. What happens if that uncle needs help? Who does he turn to?

READ MY PERSPECTIVE CAREFULLY

You obviously have never lived around White people and their extended family. One thing non African families don't do like Nigerians sadly seem to do often is seek to use, dupe and leech off each other. It is that lack of family feeling towards those abroad that makes us avoid you.

How many times has the op ever picked up the phone to call and see if this man is okay, or how things are going?

Many ONLY ever contact people abroad to ask for money most times or to prepare for coming call where they will ask for funds AGAIN. People get sick of it especially when all around them abroad they see families that function properly and not as a bowl of leeches.

It is to the point that people have stopped informing their family and friends about their trips to Nigeria.
Good points made. They say : it is the person that puts on the shoe, that knows where it hurts him the most.

Based on the responses so far, you can tell that most of them have never lived outside of Nigeria and well i think it safe to say that they are merely talking out of their ass.

If he adds another person and his bills it may then overwhelm him. Maybe he has struck the right balance between what he is paid and his lifestyle. The term 'doing well' means nothing. You take it to mean he has extra to give her (which most Nigerians imagine to be the case for people abroad) which is not necessarily true in most cases.

If he is doing that where he lives why would he go back to Nigeria? Maybe he has accepted that system and what it means to live there.
Thank you... The amount of bullshit on this thread is alarming..

tobiasbeecher:
Then if you're being overwhelmed by all these bills, I wonder what you're still doing over there? Why can't you bring your azz back to Nigeria?
For christ sake, the girl said the uncle is doing well and was helped somehow by her father, so why can't she be disappointed with such uncle when she knows he has the capacity to help out? You mustn't be a millionaire or make all the money abroad before you can help.
The bolded got me laughing. is that even a real question? Have you seen what is happening in Nigeria?
TravelRe: Why Do People Living Abroad Rarely Help Their Relations by moonraker(m): 3:50am On Apr 18, 2017
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but YOU cant force your uncle to help you

if he doesnt want to. Its all on him. Does that make him selfish?? Nope

Maybe you should stop looking at the situation from one perspective. Which is yours..

Do you know how he survives?

Do you even have an idea of the kind of bills he has to pay on a monthly bases?

Young lady, Europe isnt Nigeria. get that into your head.

I am not exactly sure what he faces but let me give you an idea of what it entails to live in the Asian region.

Holy shit....

Well, thats Nigeria for you...

Things that are done easily else where is made difficult in Nigeria with a lot of bureaucratic bullshit.

Imagine trying to renew a Nigerian passport, if you live in the Asian region Nahhh fffffffcufk outta here.

There are only two places in the whole Asia where it can be done. Beijing and Malaysia.

China dont issue tourist visas to Nigerians and well malaysia is a huge mess in itself. Leaving you with

one option, go back to Nigeria. Do you know how much a ticket costs from any Asian country to lagos??

In the end, that particular passport would cost someone about $3K.

PayPal is not an option

It's not difficult to open a PayPal in China, you're still a kid in importation business

I started with Dhgate and Alibaba, i pay with my Prepaid debit card and they ship it the next day with Dhl and i receive my goods in 6 days

Dhl ships free but Alibaba charges shipping fee

In 3 months i had many connections in China and i started using Paypal

China made me rich, i made 4 million in my first transaction (i will never tell anyone what i import)

God bless China

The statement below was absolutely not necessary
