Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of auctioning exercise of all seized and contraband goods for Saturday, July 1, 2017.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NCS, Mr Joseph Attah said the goods would be sold to the highest bidders in a process which would be through online application when its auction online portal is opened.

Mr Attah further stated that given the approval by the Controller-General, Col. Hameed Alli (Rtd) to kick-start the e-auction of seized and prohibited goods, the Service had released campaigning materials including video and other awareness materials to inform the public on the proposed exercise.

The Custom spokesman also hinted that the agency is embarking on trade facilitation programmes which would reduce cases of good seizure and facilitate ease of doing business.

‘’Our campaigns are targeted at a broad audience base because the more we dominate the various conventional and new media outlets with the true information for public consumption, the more difficult it becomes for unsuspecting members of the public to be misled or scammed."

“We had come out with a video that was shown on major television stations) on our weekly Customs Duty Programme." “This is one sure way of fighting ignorance, which we all know is not an excuse for anyone caught on the wrong side of the law."

In recent time, social media have been flooded with the various announcement of auction exercise by the NCS which the agency would come to debunk as scam and fraud. Though, many Nigerians have lost valuables to these fake auctioning exercise.

NCS also promised to ensure transparency in the whole exercise while collaborating with relevant stakeholders in the country. It is as a result that NCS’s PR Unit has unveiled posters and flyers, urging importers and agents to make genuine declarations of their goods to boost quick cargo clearance from the seaports, airports and border stations.

“My Controller-General is committed to transparency and lawful ways of transacting government business and the utmost integrity in relationship with our fellow government agencies and private sector stakeholders,” Attah said.

NB: This is e-auction. You don't need to give anybody money to help you buy car from Customs auction anymore. Be warned. The portal will be made available in due time.

I don't know what is wrong with Actress Tonto Dikeh. I will sincerely suggest that she moves one with her life and stop all this ranting of bride prize and what not.

The actress is still insisting that she gave her estranged hubby, Oladunni Olakunle money to pay her bride price when they got married in August 2015. One of her fans/friends "cutie juls" argument on her page this morning saying that Tonto Dikeh couldn't have lied that she gave Churchill money for him to pay her bride price.

Tonto took to the comment section to say that the truth may be silent for a while but it would one day be revealed.

Mind you he even said it in his interview with media hob that he has no other child apart from King only for me to confirm that he has an almost 8 year old daughter with Subomi then I am sorry I don't trust anything he says. Insult The Government On Social Media & Be Jailed For 5yrs - Kenya Govt. Warns Its Citizens

This is as illegal and as pathetic as it sounds. Is Kenya running a totalitarian government or dictatorship government? This is exactly what Buahri Led APC wanted to do in Nigerian and thank God it was shutdown before it started. Can you imagine? I hope UN is seeing that freedom of speech is dead in this country.

As Kenyan general elections draw closer, citizens have now been warned by the government to avoid sharing untruthful or inflammatory content on social media platforms or face a fine of up to Sh1 million or a jail term of five years if the proposed regulations to police web content is adopted.

The Communications Authority and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission in a statement said they have co-authored the draft rules that will punish Kenyans for being impolite, disrespectful or inciting violence when sharing political content.

“All social media content shall be written using a civilized language that avoids a tone and words that constitute hate speech, ethnic contempt, and incitement to violence,” say the regulations.

“All comments shall be polite, truthful and respectful.”

According to the Commission, those posting inflammatory content will face punitive action in line with the NCI Act, which stipulates fines of up to Sh1 million and jail terms of up to five years. The regulations also leave it open for offenders to be punished under a raft of other laws.

Social media users posting political content will also be required to reveal their identities and any political affiliations. This means that bloggers sharing sponsored content may finally have to unveil their political godfathers.

The statement also indicated that those publishing content on social media will have to “authenticate, validate the source and truthfulness of their content”. This, the government says, will forestall the spread of potentially misleading rumours.

My attention has been drawn to a campaign of calumny by nay sayers, concerning Harrysong's twins lately.

We at AlterPlate will never toy with the emotion of our numerous loyal fans, hence the need to address the issue. The news broke on Saturday June 24, 2017 while Harrysong and the entire team were on the set of a video shoot with Emarshall at Maryland.

After the shoot we left for a show at the Civic center same day; as a matter of fact, the last few weeks have been extremely busy for the Alterplate team all in a bid to give our fans the best.

To set the record straight, the Instagram account, @perezandtarela was set up by Harrysong's baby mama who is very reserved and media shy, despite being a successful business woman. She created the account with the aim of catalogueing the growth and development of her lovely twins and appreciate twins in general.

Her younger sibling running the account posted internet photographs as a landing page and an overjoyed Harrysong reposted the first photos on his way from Port Harcourt.

With every sense of humility, it was a huge and regretable mistake.

To our fans and loyal followers, I say we are sorry for the confusion or any mix up the news may have generated.

Whatever it is, this epidemic needs to be curtailed. A human right lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye shared the photos. According to him, the woman is constantly battered by her husband and this particular one happened today.

The case of billionaire kidnapper Evans has taken another twist as Nigeria police have arrested a soldier believed to be an accomplice to the kidnapper.

The police have arrested a soldier, Lance Corporal, Victor Chukwunonso, as a gang member of the notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike aka Evans. This was shared by popular journalist and manager at NTA, Becky Ebanehita Madojemu.

She shared this on Facebook and wrote.

The brother-in-law to the Billionaire kidnapper (Evans) arrested by the police on 10th June, Chukwuemeka Okoye, has cried out that his sister must have been charmed by the kidnapper.

Okoye, who had in a recent interview said Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike, his sister, has not visited home since she got married to Evans is now claiming she may have been charmed by her criminal husband.

Mr. Okoye told Vanguard News;

“Sometimes I say to myself that it is possible that Evans charmed my sister because this was a girl that was very caring and homely. “For her to abandon the family did not look normal to me.”

“My sister that I knew would have escaped from his house if she found out that the man she married is a kidnapper and that is why I say that everything is not normal with her.

He lamented that he may not be able to recognise Precious any longer given the long period of years they had spent apart.

“It is even possible that I might not recognize her if I see her, not to talk of knowing her children. “My wife here (pointing at her where she was seated and listening) does not know about her because we have never discussed anything about Uchenna.”

22-year-old Fulani herdsman, Abubakar Mojumba has been arrested by Nigeria Police for the alleged kidnap of a 22-year-old woman Sadiat Musa. He was said to have kept the victim in a thick forest, where he and his gang members raped consecutively for three days.

Mojumba was one of the 16 suspects paraded by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude, at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan at the week-end. The other 15 suspects were arrested at different parts of the state for armed robbery and theft. Weapons such as guns, cutlasses, local bulletproof jacket, mobile phones, wrist watches, expended cartridges, cars, motorcycles and so on.

According to Daily Post, Odude told journalists that Mojumba, arrested on June 7, 2017, at about 0100hrs, “And others now at large conspired together and kidnapped a 22-year old female victim from her residence at Elewuro Village, Iganna to a thick forest in Iwere-Ile, where she was held hostage for three days and they sexually abused her before she was rescued from her abductors.

“While abducting the victim, the hoodlums also stole her husband’s motorcycle with which she was taken away. The suspect was later arrested with the assistance of the villagers while trying to negotiate ransom with victim’s family members”. Mojumba who spoke through an interpreter, confessed that he participated in the illegal operation because his gang members promised to give him motorcycle.

According to him, he joined three other persons to carry out the nefarious activity, saying four of them stormed the victim’s house at Elewuro Village, Iganna at Oke Ogun area of the state, robbed the family, abducted the woman and took her to a thick forest on a motorcycle owned by her husband.

“Before we left them on that day, we collected the husband’s phone number so that we could negotiate the ransom. “The following day, we went back to the house to drop our phone numbers for easier negotiation. My colleagues promised to give me a motorcycle after the ransom must have been paid. But, now all of them have run away”.

Odude also paraded two members of notorious armed robbery gang, Janyu Bello,25, and Aliyu Lawal, 20, that have been terrorising motorists and passengers on Iwere-Ile – Igangan Road, Ado Awaye – Iseyin Road and other places in Oyo State. Also paraded were members of four-man armed robbery gang allegedly responsible for the spate of armed robbery in Akobo, Egbeda, Olodo, Idi Iroko along Olorunda Road, and other places in Ibadan. The gang allegedly robbed 16 houses in three communities on June 3, this year.

One of the armed robbery victims, name withheld, narrated her ordeals: “On June 3, 2017, at about 1:15am, the robbers stormed our community. When they came, they asked us to open the gate but we refused. They then broke the fence and cut the iron door. When my husband saw they had cut the lock, he opened the door.

“Immediately they entered, they were asking for my husband. When they saw him, they inflicted machete cuts on him. When they said they would kill my husband, I used my hand to shield him from machete and they cut my hand.

“My husband managed to escape and hide somewhere. They shot gun in the house. Three of them entered while two others were outside with guns. They raided 16 houses in three communities. They collected my wrist watch, asked for my wedding ring even though I don’t use it. My husband is still in the hospital now. I can identify all of them.”
