rumours are always truth being disguised

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refuted the claims in some quarters that it was planning to sieze funds in domiciliary accounts of individuals, saying the claim was “false”. The CBN also said yesterday that it does not have any plan to amend the nation’s Foreign-Exchange Act to sanction anyone found hoarding foreign currencies, as earlier rumoured.

“To the best of my knowledge, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has not proposed any bill seeking to arrest and jail persons holding foreign exchange for more than 30 days,” Acting Director, Corporate Communications of the bank, Isaac Okorafor said in a statement yesterday, adding that the CBN has nothing to do with such legislation.

The media was recently awash with the news that the CBN was planning to amend the Foreign-Exchange Act to provide for the imprisonment of anyone who holds foreign currencies, particularly the United States dollars, for more than 30 days, and confiscate funds in domiciliary accounts of individuals. But Okorafor denied having knowledge of such move to amend the act to make provision for a jail term for as long as two years or a fine of 20 per cent of the amount for any holder of foreign exchange in cash over a 30-day period.

In March, the Deputy Governor, Financial System and Surveillance of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dr Joseph Nnanna, blamed the decline in the value of the naira on the actions of few individuals in the country, stressing that some individuals have about $20 billion currently lying idle in their domiciliary accounts.

Side Note: I heard CBN governor takes home N2million everyday. Can this be true?

Ikechukwu Mitchell Ogbonna popularly known as IK Ogbonna is a Nollywood actor and model. The husband and father of one was born in Abia state, eastern region of Nigeria. He began his acting career in the millennia and has gained prominence for his skills and good looks.

He is married to a Columbian Sonia Morales Ogbonna and together they have a gorgeous son. In a recent interview the actor voice his views on tattoos and ear piercings. In a country where moral standards based on religion and culture frown on a man having both, IK Ogbonna is one non conformist who thinks these ideals hamper on the freedom of expression of each individual.

As a father heavily decorated in tattoos, he admitted to letting his son following the same line when he comes of age. In an intense debate, he said: ” God didn’t create earrings but girls are wearing earrings. These are things that people created overtime and then it became a norm and then people accepted it. So someone shouldn’t just look at you and say “Oh you’re a man, you shouldn’t wear earrings.”

To those who have judged the actor he added: “So let people focus more on major primary issues instead, and not IK Ogbonna’s tattoos and earrings. I’m going to keep my tattoos and earrings for as long as possible. I might even give my son an earring to wear.”

wonderful man

many more years ahead sir

It is indeed marvelous in our eye. A 9 years old boy is being called a hero after he saved his baby brother from falling. Their mum placed the 11 month old on a changing table and turned her back for just a few seconds and that was when disaster nearly happened.

The baby turned and was falling when the 9 year ran and caught him. It's amazing to watch!

Lets celebrate one of the arguably greatest leader Nigeria have ever produced since after her independence. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was the immediate past president of Nigeria who through his doings and elite knowledge have kept Nigeria together till this day. Though many predicted doom for Nigeria during the general elections of 2015 and even US Navy sealed to Ghana and was waiting to take their people home in case Nigeria plunged into chaos.

But thanks to this wonderful and great leader who said and i quote "my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian citizen" and he kept to his words. He even warned Nigerians during the elections but we couldn't listen just because APC brought change matra to deceive innocent Nigerians.

I still wonder till today how people thought government will provide 200,000 jobs for its citizens and pay N5000 to unemployed Nigerians.

Well, the celebrants is Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR BNER GCON and he is the former President of Nigeria, having served from 2010 to 2015. He served as Vice-President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010 and as Governor of Bayelsa State from 2005 to 2007.

And he was born on 20th of November, 1957, he is now aged 59

Happy Birthday Sir, May you live long and healthy life ..........Amen

A commercial bus driver identified as Saminu Bara'u popularly known as Danlami was allegedly killed by a trigger-happy police officer in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State on Tuesday November 15th according to a Facebook user who shared the story.

He is however calling for justice: Full story below...

"The incidence occurred around 8pm of Tuesday 15th November 2016 while the victim was seated outside his residence in Maraban Jos when a team of police stormed the area in the name of patrol. Having fractured his leg and being innocent, Danlami remain seated as the police arrived.

One Police Officer nicknamed KURA (literarilly mean Hyena) ordered Danlami to stand up and run before he shoots him, which he calmly replied that he cannot run because his leg is fractured displaying his crutches. Unfortunately for Danlami, the barbaric KURA shot him to dead (the pic). Immediately after he shot Danlami, angry youths descended on KURA and were about to take jungle justice on him. It took the intervention of some respected elders and a human right activist (name with-held) to rescue him.

The case has since been filed at Unguwan Sunusi Police Station and we learnt that KURA was transferred to State CID. Our fear is the usual, we don't want the case dead at arrival just because a Police Officer involved. Let us stand up for justice! Let us think of his wife and 3 kids! The State Government should do something!! The IGP should ensure KURA is brought to book!!! Keep sharing until justice is done. All we want is #Justice4Danlami.........

May his soul rest in peace. - more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/11/bus-driver-allegedly-killed-by-trigger.html
