Culture › The 10 Most Expensive Cultures/tribes In Nigeria To Marry From by morereb10(op): 1:49pm On Nov 18, 2016
Yeeeeaaaa thank Gods is Friday and it is time for fun and information. Is time to discuss the best place and the most costliest place or culture to marry in Nigeria. In Nigeria, is definitely a big deal when you talk about marriage, considering the kind of money and energy people invest into it to make it happen.

That is the period where every bride gets to feel like a queen because of the way they are celebrated. It is usually a royal event and depending on how big the wedding is, you will be shocked to find the important dignitaries in the society in these occasions/ceremonies. Though in most cases, these traditional rites can be termed as expensive cultures to marry from and so are dreaded.

Although the most expensive cultures to marry from in Nigeria is not restricted to just a geographic region or tribe in Nigeria, but of course the eastern part of Nigeria - the Igbo speaking region of Nigeria and also some states from the Southern part of Nigeria can be said to be some of the most expensive cultures to get a wife.

Checkout the list of the 10 most expensive cultures in Nigeria to marry from.... (least to highest):

10. The Annang People of Akwa Ibom state

The Annang people are found in Akwa Ibom state and they are the second largest ethnic group in Akwa Ibom state. Any groom who intends taking a bride from the Annang people must be ready to meet and fulfill the traditional marriage rites which is indeed expensive because of the loads of stuff and fees that the groom is expected buy and pay for.

9. The Ogoja People of Cross Rivers state

The Ogoja people are found in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State. The major communities in Ogoja are Ekpogrinya,, Nwang, Esham, Nnang, Egbong, Ewinimba and Banasara. Marrying an Ogoja lady is expensive because of all that is required for the groom to fulfill before the bride can be handed over to him.

8. The Ibibio People of Akwa Ibom state

The Ibibio people are found in Akwa Ibom state and they are known to be hardworking people especially when it comes to the Agricultural sector. The requirements from any man who wants to take an Ibibio woman is a wife can be said to be expensive because of the numerous components that makes up the list.

7. The Efik People of Cross Rivers State

The Efik people have a rich culture and marriage is not left out. A groom is expected to organize a carnival like event for the traditional marriage especially if he is getting married to the daughter of an influential person in the town.

6. The Ngwo People of Enugu State

I know many people has been expecting to see the igbo people. Well, the Ngwo culture requires that any man that wants to marry their daughter must be willing to prove that he can take care of their daughter by first meeting their requirements which often is expensive and at least train one of bride's sister or brother.

5. The Ikwere People of Rivers State

The Ikwere people are found in Rivers State and they are generally considered to be Igbo people because of the similarities in both their language and culture of the Igbo people. Taking a bride here is in excess of one million naira, hence it is amongst the most expensive cultures to marry from in Nigeria.

4. The Mbano People of Imo State

Well, Nollywood beloved Chinedu Ikedieze married from this town. Mbano is a community that is located in the Southeastern part of Nigeria and they are part of the Igbo people of Nigeria. The groom must fulfill all that is listed in the marriage list, and in some cases, if the groom is wealthy, he might even be required to build a house for the bride’s parents as part of the marriage requirements.

3. The Mbaise People of Imo State

Just mentioning this town to most people in Nigeria, it send a lot of "chills" i must tell you but am not gonna discuss that today. The Mbaise people are found in Imo state in Nigeria and they occupy three local government areas in Imo State (Aboh Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise and Ezinihitte Mbaise).

The Mbaise people are known for their quest for higher education, hence the large numbers of graduates and professionals amongst them. The Mbaise culture is amongst the most expensive cultures to marry from in Nigeria because of the numerous components that make up their traditional marriage list. As a matter of fact, the more educated the bride is, the more expensive the marriage list becomes.

2. The Ngwa People of Abia State

The Ngwa people are found in Abia state of Nigeria and they constitute the largest and most populous sub – ethnicity or clan in the whole of the south – eastern part of Nigeria. The culture of the Ngwa people is said to be amongst the most expensive cultures to marry from in Nigeria because of the many things the groom is expected to do for the bride’s family and for the entire community where the bride hails from.

1. The Nkpa People of Abia State

The Nkpa people are the most expensive according to the information available to us. The Nkpa people of Abia state are found in Bende local government of Abia state. Marrying an Nkpa lady is truly expensive especially if you are not from Nkpa.

The list for the traditional marriage rite is designed in such a way that it is cheaper for and Nkpa man that is getting married to an Nkpa lady; but if a man who is not from Nkpa is seeking for the hand of an Nkpa lady, he must be ready to organize a marriage ceremony that accommodates the entire community, and also must buy gifts not only for the parents of the bride, but also for all the kinsmen (Umu nna) and their daughters (Umu Ada).

Politics › President Buhari To Court: You Have No Power To Stop Judges Prosecution by morereb10(op): 12:07pm On Nov 16, 2016
The judicial system of Nigeria is gradually becoming less important in this country. The government of the day has consistently faulted the orders of the court in any case they deem fit. The latest being the arrest of high court judges. President Buhari has insisted that the Federal High Court in Abuja has no powers to stop the prosecution of some judges recently arrested over allegations of corruption by security agencies.

Buhari, through his lawyer, Chiesonu Okpoko maintained that the court lacks the jurisdiction to entertain a suit by a Lagos-based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, which seeks to stop the Federal Government from arraigning seven judges arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS.

The judges Ogunbgeje is seeking justice for include, Justices Inyang Okoro and Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court, Adeniyi Ademola and Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court Abuja, as well as Justice Muazu Pindiga of the Federal High Court, Gombe Division.

Challenging the competence of Ogungbeje’s suit, Buhari’s counsel in a preliminary objection contended that the locus standi of the matter was not disclosed by the plaintiff. Okpoko maintained that there was no lis (case) between the plaintiff and the Respondents, adding that, “the applicant’s suit as constituted and conceived, is a mere academic exercise and raises hypothetical issues.”

The President’s counsel contended that before the plaintiff could invoke the judicial powers as enshrined in section 6(6) (b) of the 1999 constitution, he must show how his civil rights and obligations were affected or would be affected by the action of the security agencies.

Romance › ‘sugar Mummies’ – Abuja Women Protest Discrimination For Marrying Younger Men by morereb10(op): 7:43pm On Nov 13, 2016
The act of a lady marrying a younger man in this part of the world is usually frowned at. Most people just coat it in the name calling "sugar mummy". The discrimination against women marrying younger men is getting rampant thought on the other hand, the society see nothing wrong in men having much younger wives and this has led some women in Abuja to a massive protest.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, some women in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, decried discrimination in Nigeria against women marrying younger men, while seeing nothing wrong in men having much younger wives. Some of the women alleged that they had been discriminated, judged and labelled “sugar mummy” for their marriage to men they were older than.

A businesswoman identified as Esther David, said she was five years older than her husband, who is also into the same provision business with her. She added her decision to marry her husband was borne out of love, admiration and respect she had for him, and not because she was desperate to get married as alleged by some persons. “Our society tends to judge women negatively for marrying younger men, even if that relationship was borne out of love and respect for each other. “But the same society sees nothing wrong if a man marries someone that he is old enough to even be her grandfather,” she lamented.

According to her, she faced a lot of challenges from her in-laws due to the age difference before she was fully accepted as his wife, despite performing the traditional, Christian and even the court wedding. A mother of two identified as Bose Ade, said even though she was eight years older than her husband, whom she has been married to for over a decade, her being older had not affected the love, affection and respect they had for each other. “At first, it was very difficult for me to accept his marriage proposal because I was far older than him with over eight years. “But I was later convinced by his persistence and support from his family that he was not dissuaded by our age differences,” Mrs. Ade said.

What is your opinion on this? Is it right for a lady to marry a younger man?

Foreign Affairs › Hillary Clinton Blames FBI Director, Comey For Election Loss by morereb10(op): 6:50am On Nov 13, 2016
It is no news now that Donald Trump is the US President-elect. however, his counterpart Hillary Clinton has blamed the FBI's decision to revive an investigation into her email accounts for her devastating defeat in the US presidential election.

In a call on Saturday with top campaign donors, Clinton said her campaign was in the lead until FBI director James Comey sent a letter to Congress on October 28 announcing that the FBI had uncovered emails possibly related to its earlier probe into her use of a private server as secretary of state.

The new examination was sparked by an unrelated investigation into former New York Representative Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of one of her top aides.
US election: How did Hillary Clinton lose?
The surprise announcement by the FBI came after three debates in which president-elect Donald Trump, a Republican, was widely panned for his performance. Clinton told the donors that her campaign was leading by large margins in nearly every battleground state and was tied in Arizona, a traditionally Republican stronghold, until Comey released his letter.
Trump's campaign and Republican supporters seized on the news, even though it was unclear whether Clinton's correspondence was tied up in the probe.
Comey told lawmakers the Sunday before the election that the bureau had found no evidence to warrant criminal charges. His "all clear" message only served to further motivate Trump supporters, Clinton told donors on the call.

In the nine days between Comey's initial statement and his "all clear" announcement, nearly 24 million people cast early ballots. That was roughly 18 percent of the expected total votes for president.

While Clinton accepted some blame of her loss, said donors who listened to her call, she made little mention of the many other factors political analysts saw as driving Trump's victory.

Clinton told her supporters on Saturday that her team had drafted a memo that looked at the changing opinion polls leading up to the election and that the letter from Comey proved to be a turning point.

The memo prepared by Clinton's campaign, a copy of which was seen by the Reuters news agency, said voters who decided which candidate to support in the last week were more likely to support Trump than Clinton.

But even if is not the whole truth, but the illusion that another man's manhood is bigger than your husband's or your boyfriend and the fact that porn movies have over exaggerated the whole thing makes it paramount.

Gone are the days most Nigerians perceive markup as a dreaded way of life and a very deceptive thing to do. In fact most men and even pastors have proclaimed that marking up is from the pit of hell. Is ithuh

We as Africans and Nigerians nonetheless have to accept the fact that some transformations are needed in some cases and circumstances. While it is important for ladies to tone down their makeup if they are not going for events, we also have to allow those with one facial deformity or the other to explore all the options that makeup has to bring.

A makeup artist of Sojuloge makeover has proved that there is beauty in scars. The work done on a client’s scarred face will make you stare hard at the pictures here.
