Politics › Re: Why Did God Pack Foolish People Into A Single Country And Call It Nigeria? by morpheus24: 9:12pm On Jan 20, 2009 |
@ poster
First of all God did not pack us into one country neither did He call it Nigeria. The British did that.
Second to compare Nigeria to America is like comparing apples and Oranges. They are not in the same catergory by a long shot.
So called "third world" or developing world root problems are not being addressed. The illiterate government are busy trying to catch up to the west by beocming Pseudo-westernized states. how can you want to Fly to the moon when you haven't taken baby steps to get your self there in the first place.
How can you expect an illiterate okada driver to obey helmet law when all he is thinking about is feeding his family and cuttin corners to do so. You haven't tackled the problem of his illiteracy to the world around him before elling him to observe a law which in his senses don't mak sense at all. |

Do the phrases "two-state solution" and "occupied territories" mean anything to that journalist who obviously skipped classes when Pol Sci 101 was being taught in school? Please can you point out the ignorant points made by this journalist cause I seem to find a lot of reasoning in his statements i.e coming form someone who is obviously inpartial to both sides of the conflict unlike some of us here. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Black Race Cursed In The Bible? by morpheus24: 4:35pm On Jan 19, 2009 |
origina9ja: Biblically, the black race descended from Ham, the second son of Noah, after they survived the flood (Genesis 9-10). The descendants of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan (Gen 10:6). Contrary to misleading exegesis, it was Canaan only that was cursed (Genesis 9:5), Canaan, not Ham; neither was any of the three other sons.
Canaan descendants later included the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashitess, Hivites, the Avites etc, people groups who were later to be subjects and enemies of the Israelites, children of Abraham (Genesis 15:18 – 21, Exodus 3:8, Deuteronomy 7:1, Joshua 24:11 etc).
i want to understand this black race thingg properly because i still don't know what is wrong with being black nothing do me ooo black and proud anways give your point and pls back it up with bible verse
thanks, x You should be wondering how in just six thousand years of bible history we have such a diverse group of people in African as well as outside of it that are so called Descendants of Ham. |

olabowale: @Morpheus24: « #35 on: Yesterday at 10:25:47 PM » I have been a yoruba all my life and no matter how deeply I look, I can't figure ut what you are insinuating. Not all yorubas are black and ewedu eating. Not all yorubas are muslims. Not all muslims are yorubas. You could have help yourself in your argument or response to me or the poster, by realising that my first and at that time only wife is a yoruba like me. Except that we had different religions, which I said was the first victim of the marriage when it was collapsing. Now, my primary interest in a woman is her Islam.
Yoruba or no yoruba, black or no black, ewedu eating or no ewedu eating, and others, eat or collectively is or are secondary. I like a woman who speaks yoruba more than the one who does not. But thats beside the point.
It is clear in my mind that a marriage, like any other contract or agreement needs a greater commonality between parties. What people call mutual benefits. If people have a focal point; in the case of Islam, Allah in all that He commands, then the tearing apart of relationship will for the most part will not be harsh, hard and violent. Like it is stated; a family that prays together, stays together.
And enough about your narvana! Discuss that with hindu. I happen to be a muslim. Rather say that I am a Mumin. And my having Islam in common with my spouse is greater than the yoruba commonality with a non-muslim. Thanks for proving my point. |

olabowale: The only reason that I even respond to you is the "black, ewedu eating" statement. I found it typical. You dont know enough about Yorubas. we are tapestry of colors, patches and textures. Just like any group of people, the things we have in common are fewer than what we do not have in common. And how is experiencing life as Yoruba or having more commonalities with one another any different from any Human you have come across on this planet and why would you have to explain that to me knowing that every one experiencies the same as you. That's why you are propelled to respond to me is because in that complex brain of yours, you respond only to one stimuli, which is the sensation you get thinking you have reached nirvana and the comfort in most of your delusions of grandeur which you are compelled to share with others cause it gives your life meaning and sets you above others which unfortunately most human minds crave. Mind you I am still answering the poster's questions. You are only concentrating on the "black, ewedu eating part".Anyone just has to look a little deeper to figure out what I am insinuating. |

olabowale: KarmaMod, this is the place you should have used your 'agidi.' Morpheus24 is qualifying yoruba women as "black, ewedu eating", in a way that it insinuating a let down. Am disappointed that you didn't start fighting for the Yoruba women, so that I may now join you in the effort.
Now Morpheus24, not all yoruba women are 'black and or ewedu eating" person. So I will leave it at that. And not all women from outside Yoruba ethnicity is not black or not ewedu eating woman either.
KarmaMod (Ameebo, meebo, meebo), am also married to Yoruba woman, too. The sweetness of yoruba women would end with a failed marriage. I love the language, so I will always a room in my heart for a yoruba woman. But no alagidi in my life. What else would you love the best, apart from Yoruba women since you came from one and obviously are one as well (i.e Yoruba that is). What else would you love apart from being a muslim when that is all you know and were born into.(Please no we are all muslims when we are born BS) How could you know anything outside of that since you are unfortunatley a subjective being. |

Magz: Yes you can.
I am.
There is only one God anyways. And, the true meaning of "Christian" is not supposed to be "Christ-worshipper", but "Christ-like". Anyone can be Christ-like, including servants of Allah (God).
You are kinda wrong here. Understand me: There is only one God! Muslims may call him Allah, Rastafarians may call him Jah, and Chrsitians may call him Jehovah, but we all know and worship the one and true God and Creator of the Universe.
I am a Rasta. We are Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc, Rasta teaches that God is Universal, and he comes to us in many ways. Jah speaks every language and dwells within the hearts of all. There is no such thing as "two masters". Please define a Rasta for me cause I've see a lot of you go mental smoking that shit and claiming it is the healing when in actuality that shit is frying your brain cells |

The peace was temporary. Remember that I am divorced from her. The first casuality of our fail marriage was the religion. It was the religion that she latched on to in any disagreement we had. It was the first thing that she attached. The point is this, in my present relationship, the religion is the glue that binds, front and center. By the way, I do not intend to say that there was not happiness in the relationship. But when we disagreed, it was awful. There was no mercy at all. We had no central theme; My is Allah, His Religion, His Book, His Messenger. Am sure you see that these are set of headache to non-muslims.
Hers was Paul and more Paul, and just maybe Jesus. Typical Christian. And I hated the cross dangling from her neck. Can you imagine a muslim asleep with a cross on the chest of his lover? That was my case. I vowed never to let that happen again! I can agree on cultural or religious barriers as a factor in not creating a harmonious marriage and this is not exlcusive to Muslim/Christians so there is nothing unique in your situation. The problem is when one beleives his/her way of life is the better. Most people gravitate to what they PERCIEVE as an exemplary way of living and ultimately through free will change their belief system for the better. It cannot be forced down their throats nor can any amount of arguement without action change them. Your comments on cross's and arguements only goes to show. you shuld put your self in her place and imagine if she thought the same way about you and how in her mind she was truly convinced of the the fact that you were going to hell when you died. |
Islam › Re: She's A Christian,am A Muslim. Can This Marriage Work? by morpheus24: 3:32pm On Jan 14, 2009 |
olabowale: Morpheus24: Islam came to elevate the humanity of humans. To better the kindness of man. It is not so surprising that whatever you call the "people of the books." above, need improvement. The husband of a woman is the best person to better his wife. So is the wife of a man. In this case, a man who want to marry a muslim woman must be muslim.
And a woman who is married to a muslim man will be better. At least, she will have a better bathroom manner. I remember an entry where a tribe's man of the nigerian' miss world was saying that their tribe's beauty is their washing their bottom with water after the use of bathroom.
I wonder if he knows that this is a normal thing in Islam. Contradicting yourself. A husband can better his wife but a wife cannot better her husband. That is to say a muslim woman marrying a non muslim man is so weak that she cannot influence her husband into becoming a muslim. Only men are privileged in this your elevatiion of humanity. I've seen that type of redrick before. I remember when White men strictly forbade their women from marrying or having intercourse with black males knowing fully well that it would signal the end of their kind and power over their womenfolk but sure nothing was bad for White men to rape and impregnant black women, of course it was their God given right to do so seeing that they were made to believe they were superior. Ring a bell? Your reasoning is nothing new. You and others have used such to decieve men for ages. |

I find it very odd that it is permissable for a Muslim to marry so called "People of the Book" and at the same time regard them as infidels
Could it be a dubious tactic to populate the world with muslims or the thirst of those would be Arabs to sustain their Harems during their conquesta
Mmmm I wonder. The mind of Human beings! |

Nigerians keep saying 9ja4eva, i'm patriotic, i love Nigeria and so on when they really don't mean it. Most people would deny Nigeria within a second if the opportunity arises. A good test to find out if you are truly patriotic is :
If there is a draft in naija today and you're asked to join the Nigerian Army in order to fight a war in Cameroun/Ghana for Nigerias democracy, would you go? If your answer is NO, u are not a patriotic Nigerian.[/quote]Don't worry they have enough people to fight a war with cameroon. Politics › Re: How We Can Check Crimes In Nigeria. by morpheus24: 9:51pm On Jan 06, 2009 |
I think technology and advancement helps curb certain criminal activities.
Take for example how in the 80's and early 90's armed robers would attack residentail areas in search of money they wre sure ws kept in many peoples homes because of lack of confidence in banking industries.
Now fast forward to 2009 and notice how crime is less likely in a residence though it has shifted to banks. One way of interpreting this is the better advanced a country is the less likely a particular type of crime is committed.
Inorder words if you want to curb crime outsmart the criminal. |
