One liner rebuttals are usually indicative of the inability to come up with any opposing view to the statements made in an attempt to divert and digress from the point being made.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Think Twice Before Labeling South Africans As "Naturally" Xenophobic by morpheus24:
jagugu88li:
I can firmly say there's never been a point in time where Nigerians where being ill-treated in South Africa. Somalians, Zimbabweans and maybe Mozambicans can claim ill-treatment.
You are not being truthful my brother, So all the televised Xenophobic attacks through out the years beginning officially in 2008 have not been channeled towards Nigerians. That is not true.

If you had clarified the fact that Nigerians as a whole receive the lesser brunt of xenophobic sentiment because the Nigerian professional and student class live in more metropolitan and suburban areas and therefore are away from the the township areas, that would have been a fair statement. The reason the groups you mentioned are targeted more often is because a greater number of them they live in closer proximity to impoverished communities that are in competition for limited resource allocation.

jagugu88li:
My brother, bloggers have a way of twisting the truth and most people report hear say. Obviously, one doesn't have to be physically placed in a situation to understand it but, with that being said, visit that SA and see for yourself. It's actually the reverse of what is being reported. Its Nigerians that scatter SAns.

I personally never know how to react when a Nigerian is crying ill-treatment, because me and you know the truth. Xenophobic attacks are there worst one human could do to another. Fortunately enough, Nigerians are never at the receiving end of it, drug dealers are........Even then, it's once after many SAn youth funerals.
I am in agreement with you that the Nigerian drug dealing element should be discriminated against with full prejudice of the law however the problem is when we are dealing with semi illiterate politicians and political posturing of people who make sweeping indictments in an atmosphere of undeniable xenophobic sentiment, exposing legitimate and legal "black" foreign nationals/economic migrants which include Nigerians and labeling them in a manner that encourages xenophobia and this my "brother" is the reality.

This was posted on a Nairaland forum so it has been made my business cause this is my house.

Why are you here on Nairaland worried about what useless people are saying about your country. Shouldn't you be toyi toying for free education somewhere on the streets of Benoni?

Jayceon:
could it be that you see these things because we are the only african country that really matters and we are constantly under spotlight??
Delusions of grandeur.

A while back the spotlight was cast on the Gambia in West Africa, that was the headline story trending and the issue which the AU was most concerned with. You do know what the AU is right, that African body that discuss real African issues. The perception that your country only matters in real African affairs borders on the ubiquitous perception in South Africa that many Africans are even aware of a country called South Africa.

SADC countries may be familiar with your politics but I dare you to go to any francophone African country in the West, North, or central part of AFrica and talk about Malema or Maimane and see how their faces will be full of dumbfoundment.

Jayceon:
As you could have guessed by now: the answer is a big YES,africans are obsessed with us but there are civil wars in other parts of africa and Southies don't even discuss those stories
The level of your matric pass rates will be indicative of the latter part of your statement above. A substantial number of SA students can't even name 5 African countries outside of SADC even after hosting the CAF cup of nations and you think this is something to be proud of.

I blame Apatheid for isolating your brains for so long that you really believe Africa begins in cape town and ends in the hinterlands of the limpop

*shame* in South African accent.

Are they?
A reasonable amount of them are but i wouldn't say all White South Africans, mostly Boer Afrikaners. The ones of English descent who are a little less acculturized to the Afikaner mentally are more opened minded.

bad wishes as always..Nigerians:south Africans know how to deal with their issues, note that we dont think like you and we are not like you..we are south africans doing things south african way!
We are well aware of the way you do South African things. You lot are very angry people, Always angry about something.
Angry about school fees
Angry at Orlando pilots for scoring 6-0
Angry about White people enjoying themselves in front of you.
Angry about foreigners stealing your jobs and *some of your women*
Angry about data prices
Angry at the Guptas
Angry at the indian's in Durban exploiting you
Angry at ZUma for Nkandla
Angry at Somali spaza shops

And what do you do when you are angry, usually nothing constructive. A whole lot of toyi toying, singing, destroying property and then you go home sleep over it and come back the next day to do the same thing.

Eish. The South African way!!

You're right hence I mentioned that the Nguni people are generally friendly, with exceptions of course. I am Nguni. Xhosa to be exact, so I know how it is. I have been to the rural areas & yes, the difference between people over there & those living in urban areas is quite obvious like you stated. However, imo, they still have similarities in personality that makes them who they are. Example, Xhosa women are very outspoken & bold, whether they live in the rural areas or the townships. You go to Johannesburg, where you find ones from different backgrounds & still people will say, "Abafazi bamaXhosa bandwebile"- meaning, Xhosa women are "forward". I guess what I'm trying to say is, at the core, people from the same tribe are really the same.

Your whole brain is "out of context" tongue I'm curious about one thing you said though, so the South African govt "don't need to worry about doing anything for Nigerians" even when "high crime" is perpetuated against Nigerians? Is that what you're telling me? They should be ignored or chased away when they visit police stations to report said crimes? Won't you then say Nigerians aren't being treated equally? They're being discriminated against blah blah blah. Stop snorting pounded yam. As for us sending them packing, South Africa is a free country. We don't send people packing if they're in here legally. Sisokola sonke (we struggle together). If things were so horrible against those living here right now, I'm sure they wouldn't need to be told to pack & go. They would have done it already, on their own. So again, stop with your reaching. Always playing advocate. SMH. Did the Nigerians here say they want to leave & return home? Don't you think they can afford their flights home? Funny because many visit Naija but always return down south. But you're here foaming rubbish on their behalf. Nawa 4 you. Craze dey worry you grin angry
Everything I said just flew over you coo coo brain SMH!

Why do you always ramble about things that have no relation to the topic at hand? Are you schizophrenic? Now you're talking about feeding. Boy, oh boy! The only way I know how to deal with you when you're having one of your "episodes" is....I DON'T CARE.
The subject matters are inter- related, stop trying to come off smart.

You say your government doesn't have resources to keep up with every thing goin on including Xenophobia, I reply that is the reason for aggrieved people to organize under the Law

You state the government is occupied with issues facing "our' country. What are these issues; Corruption, high unemployment and High crime. I respond you don't need to worry about doing anything for Nigerians as it pertains to the aforementioned issues. If you can't deal with them in the light of your internal issues, send them packing.

What is out of context?

PunkyVeer:
By "organised association" you mean Anyene & cohorts? LMFAO. Ok.
They are organized and are abiding by a law of freedom of association guaranteed for people( not only citizens) who live in South Africa. Whether you find that funny or not it is a way of consolidating grievances when your "authority" cannot by your own words manage the realities of the situation.

PunkyVeer:
South Africa is not the US. We don't have the resources they have to keep watch on everything. Even they (the US) with all their resources still fail their people in some cases, so it's not like they've won that war. It's a battle. And we're having our own with the issues facing our country so stop reaching.
Again, please face your issues in your country, nobody asked you to concentrate, help out or feed any Nigerian who chooses to make a living in "your" country.

"Your" country has a historical reputation of getting away with gross injustices in the guise of protecting its citizens whether in "apartheid" or in the new post 1994 government. If you cannot handle the Nigerians please lobby to send all of them back including legal law abiding and illegal ones to their country since you cannot deal with the realities of the 21st century and there will be no need for such organizations to act as Watch dogs in "your" country.

Look, the govt is not gonna hype up & make noise about the death of every Nigerian that keels over & dies (by various causes) while on South African soil. It's absurd. We have more pulling issues as a country. Besides, our own people die too & we don't make a big deal out of it. And you expect us to report every rubbish going on on our streets. Hayikhona! Even more advanced countries have no time for street brawls & the likes. Many die without recognition.
Nobody begged you to report or focus on it. We vis a vis an organized association are doing that ourselves by highlighting these incidents since Media have the power to skew incidents to fit their Government or national agenda. What I would suggest is people start video taping these things on camera. Footage is very powerful and cannot be ignored

The relevant question to be asked is, is it happening? Are the facts accurate?

Advanced countries like the US are tackling Police brutality on the Black/AFrican American community that is an injustice being perpetrated by law enforcement. Hmmmm?

Sorry, but I don't trust that report. There are always gross exaggerations from the reporters or whomever they questioned. Didn't the same organisation ( the Anyene people) that reported this story, lie about how much loss some Nigerians suffered during the recent xenophobic attacks? One of their own actually exposed them to the South African govt for being lying crooks.
I guess we can hold them equally as culpable of "over" exaggerating these incidents as much as the SA government "under" exaggerates Xenophobia, no?(excuse the use of verb construction)

I'm also surprised because there was no word on it on the news. The media usually gets off on stuff like this but this time it's all crickets noise in the background. Which is why I was highly doubting this story. Not doubting the death, but the manner of which he died. South African media reports every tiny thing if related to police brutality, the politicians, etc. So there's probably nothing to it as usual. People just being sensationalists.
Usual Plausible deniability approach to these actions taking place in SA, because SABC doesn't report, it is fabricated, just like the one that happened in the Western cape was fake.

When Biafra officially gets its own country then they can switch names around.
