scopusng: A 47-year-old father, GodwinDamn it! What would make a man to bleep his own child? This man deserves to die by hanging via his Pri.c.k. Is the man 47 or 75 years old? His age in the newspaper report contradicts that of the poster. Another ALLU on the prowl! |
ouigy99: [s]It was then i knew that it was the alomo i drank that was messing my system up.[/s]PRAISE THE LORD!!! HALLELUJAH!!! What a wonder testimony from bro ... ![]() On a more serious note, why would you drink a whole bottle of Alomo (whether big or small, fake or original)? Haven't you realized that it contains 40% alcohol? Seriously, we Nigerians are the architect of our problem. Oyingbo recommends a glass of red wine or beer PER DAY, as it is said to be good for the cardiovascular system yet our people won't listen. Meanwhile, drinks like Alomo and other hot drinks should be taken with short (small cup like communion cup). Bro, I'm not a saint. I equally take alcoholic drinks (preferably red wine)once in a blue moon. Drink moderately man! |
This fellow deserves an award. LYNDDY: wat happens during the raining season?rain go jus ma ma u & ur car.The car will be on vacation, under a canopy. ![]() |
Great write up I must confess but learn to keep it brief and simple. It is disheartening that the comatose state of the nation has affected every facet, including the music industry. My heart bleeds when I listen to Naija's new generation songs. What do you get? NOISE! NOISE!! NOISE!!! I have been constrained to listen to only 'far back/old school' because most of them talk sense; you've got something to learn from them. The most shameful aspect is how these our 'celebrated' artists go about STEALING and REMIXING (with impunity) songs of old. The likes of Flavour Nabania, Omawunmi etc should be tried in a law court for theft of intellectual property. For goodness sake, these guys should be advised to be original. savedbreak: Whenever i hear people say hip hop/nigerian music is dead,i feel very sorry for that person. It depends on the kind of music you hear, listen to the likes of Young Joe C,M I,Asa,dare art alade, etc arnt they nigerians? Is dere music dead? No! Hip Hop is alive, its the critics that are dead! This suggests to me that you know nothing about Nigeria music industry. ASA is the only person on that list whose songs appeal to all ages and generations. I mean, even old Papas and Mamas do enjoy it too. Sorry I don't rate others. |
Before one says "jack" this AMPUTEE ALHAJI would find his way down Southern Nigeria in search of 'greener pasture'. Most often, they even become 'employers of labour' by engaging a 'manager' abi na 'P/A'. It isn't a bad idea to amputate thieves but let prohibit them from traveling out of their state so as not to constitute nuisance to other people. Northern Nigerian states claim to be practicing Sharia Law yet their leaders are stealing them home and dry. One law for the master, another for servants. |
informatix: Andy Uba?. Made a claim of $15 ibori Loot.I do not think Ifeanyi Ubah is related with Andy and Chris Ubah. Whereas Andy and Chris are siblings, from Aguata, Ifeanyi Ubah is from Nnewi. |

Indeed Azumah Nelson was a great boxer but certainly NOT the greatest to come from the shores of Africa. Check out his statistics: AZUMAH NELSON Total fights 47; Wins 39, Wins by KO 28, Losses 6, Draws 2. NOW compare Nelson with the likes of: TOP BOXERS FROM NIGERIA (1) HENRY AKINWANDE: Total fights 55, Wins 50, Wins by KO 30, Losses 4, Draws 1. (2) SAMUEL PETERS: Total fights 39; Wins 34, Wins by KO 27, Losses 5, Draws 0. (3) RICHARD "DiickTiger" IHETU: Total fights 82; Wins 60, Wins by KO 27, Losses 19, Draws 3. TOP BOXERS FROM SOUTH AFRICA (1) FRANCOIS BOTHA: Total 60, Wins 48, By knockout 29, Losses 8, Draws 3, No contests 1 (2) CORRIE SANDER: Total fights 46, Wins 42, Wins by KO 31, Losses 4, Draws 0, No contests 0 OTHER TOP AFRICAN BOXERS (1) BATTLING SIKI: compiled the impressive record of 43 wins in 46 bouts (21 KOS), suffering just 1 loss (on a decision) and 2 draws. |
You are just stating the obvious. The character and calibre of people that continually rule Abia State beats my imagination. It is sad that the fellow who succeeded him in office in the person of Theodora Orji appears to be worse off. I have chosen to re-christen both rogues that is Orji Kalu and Theodora Orji as (native) Di-nta (Hunter) and Ote-nkwu (Wine Tapper) respectively. ![]() |
Abagworo: You missed a point here after a brilliant write up on Umunoha by adding an Isoko clan. The thread is about Igbo clans and not Isoko or Urhobo that some villages trace their origin to Igbo. Some Igbos like Onitsha also trace their origin to Edo and are today Igbo. Igbide is an Isoko town.Noted! Mix-up regretted!! |
Orji Uzoh Kalu is such a JOKE! Why did he chose to do it in Congo rather than Nigeria? Is it that Abians living outside Nigeria are in highest number in Congo? Indeed, Orji Kalu is yet to define his true intent yet. Probably, he wants Abians and Nigerians by extension to remember that he is still alive. ![]() OUK is not giving back anything to anybody! He is just pulling a stunt! |
Funkymallam: How much more low can you guys go?What's your problem boy? Why would you condescend to insults and abuses in order for you to be heard? Make your point (if indeed you have any) and learn to be civil. |
Abujafood: With Paltry N100 you mean? They must think people are very poor or dumb! Thanks for the correction! lol!!! |
Mine remains late SAM LOCO EFE (RIP)! That man was 1,000 miles ahead of the rest. Others are in this order: (2) OKEY BAKASSI (3) DELE ODUNLE (that man is a clown). (4) Mr. IBU. (5) CHARLES INOJE (6) EKPO .... The guy is new in the industry. He is from Akwa Ibom/Cross River axis. The guy funny die! Sorry, I don't rate Nkem Owoh. He talks too much. |
If this is true, then shame on ACN! Why would they want to bribe voters with paltry N100? I thought they claim to carry on late Chief Obafemi Awolowo's political ideology? On a second thought, are you sure this isn't a move by the opposition to tarnish ACN? |
Igbide is an Isoko clan located in the Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.[1] The predominant occupation of the Igbide is fishing. This is done mainly in the Urie lake, Owodokpokpo. In the first week of February the clan holds a festival on the Urie marking the start of the fishing season.[2] Cultivation, mainly of cassava and groundnuts, is also undertaken by the Igbide. While popular folklore has it that the Igbide people originated from Mgbidi in the Eastern (Igbo) part of Nigeria, some more recent writers attribute their origins to Awka in present day Anambra state with a blend of later immigrants from Uvwie (Effurun) in Delta State .[3] This affiliation to the Igbos can be observed in the dress and costume codes of the Igbides in festivals like ABAME, and the salutation sequence and chants as well as the mercantile nature of a typical Igbide man. The Igbide people took early to Christianity.[citation needed] Owodokpokpo, a community in Igbide clan, is regarded as one of the main entry points of Christianity into Isoko land.[4] Igbide is also an oil producing community and host to Shell's Oroni oilfield. COMMUNITY PROFILE: UMUNOHA (CHILDREN OF NNOHA OKECHI), MBAITOLI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, IMO STATE GEOGRAPHY Umunoha Autonomous Community is bounded on the north by Eziama Obiato and Afara communities; on the south and southwest by Ogbaku and Ejemekwuru communities; and on the south and southeast by Ifakala and Afara communities. It is served by the great Onitsha-Owerri Road (Highway). It is about thirteen kilometers from Owerri, the Imo State capital. It is a small, compact but thickly populated community with a projected 1997 population of twenty-five thousand people. ANCESTRY/HISTORY According to tradition, a sort of warlord called Nnoha Okechi with vague Aro ancestry, but certainly a peripatetic individual, migrated from Ozuzu in the present Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria and settled in the present Umunoha town, having decisively defeated the original Isu settlers who had resisted him fiercely. He dispersed the Isu, seized their land, and distributed it among his children accordingly to seniority as follows: * Duru, his first son, became the progenitor of the present Umuduru village; *Okparaoma, Duru's younger brother from the same mother and the third child, the progenitor of the present Umuokparaoma village. *Okparafor, the fourth child and third son from a different mother the progenitor of the present Umuokparafor village; *Durundom, Duru's only sister and Nnoha's second child whom he refused to give out in marriage remained at home and begat the present Umudurundom village; *Mbara, brother of Okparafor and Nnoha's fifth and last child begat the present Umurnbara village. Later the area so divided and effectively occupied was renamed Umunoha. Any Umunoha person who cannot trace his ancestry directly to Nnoha Okechi cannot aspire to be and will not be accepted as a true citizen of the town. Indeed, a citizen of Umunoha, even today, proudly describes himself as Nwafo Nnoha Okechi ("uterine child of Nnoha Okechi" or Okechi for short. he regards, often with contempt, nonUmunoha people as nde mbakeshi ("barbarians" .Presently, Umunoha has two Autonomous Communities viz Obinoha and Umunoha. ECONOMY Market: Umunoha has a very popular market known as ORIE-AMA-IGWE. The market is usually a beehive of activities on every Orie-ukwu (major orie) market day. It holds every eighth day of Igbo market calendar. RELIGION/CULTURE The people of Umunoha are predominantly Christians; yet there are still traditional worshipers in some families. The community is host to the famous Igwekala Oracle that still enjoys patronage from all walks of life. Umunoha is also respected for its Mmanu Masquerade. Culled from Prof. Uzoigwe, (EVOLUTION AND RELEVANCE OF AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES IN PRECOLONIAL IGBOLAND, Journal of Third World Studies, Spring 2004) |
bin gbagbo: compare thisCharlie, please tell us, who is/are the "KILLER(S)" in the squad? You know it that Asamoah Gyan, John Mensah, Sulley Muntari and John Pensil are done. What can one expect from 45 plus years old men?! Seriously, haven't they retired? They are obviously too old to stand a chance against any good team in Africa. Ghanians are the worst culprits in age cheat followed by Cameroon in Africa. As for Kwarasey (abi na Kpalasa), Annan, Boye annd Atsu, they are just AVERAGE players. As a matter of fact, you have two GOOD players on that list viz Kwadwo Asamoah and Andre Ayew. |
Mad Cow: WTF IS THAT!!!GOD WILL PUNISH YOU TOO FOR CURSING A MAN OF GOD (WHETHER REAL OR FAKE)! GOD WILL PUNISH YOU FOR SAYING WHAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!! GOD WILL PUNISH YOU FOR BEING A HYPOCRITE!!! |
Osiris.211:If you care to know I have lived major part of my life in South West and have investments in two South Western states. Moreover, I pay my tax as at when due. What do you contribute to the South West order than touting? It is obvious that stipends you get has blurred your vision. BTW, don't be so sure that you are from the South West. Idioot! |
luvinhubby: This Tinubu is a very shameless man, must he ruin whom he can't control, i agree with Mimiko, he is a tout & by the way WHO KILLED FUNSHO WILLIAMS?Mr Big Eyeballs should stop comparing himself with late Chief Awolowo as there are no basis for such. Tinubu wants to enslave economically and politically, the entire South West. Lagos State is under siege already. Just hoping that the good people of Ondo state won't allow this. |
There are so many cowards on Nairaland. Anyone who hides under the guise of ethnicity and religion in order to gain attention and popularity is a coward. Anyone who rain abuses and haul insults on another's ethnicity is a coward. Some of you here need to grow up. Stop forcing yourself to be relevant on Nairaland. No civil mind approves of what you do. Seriously some of you will 'collect' free slap from me, if I meet you in person. |
IykeD: It's always good to listen to both sides of the story before passing judgement. The story says, he has the title documents from "God knows where". The question now is how did he come about the real title documents?God bless you 100 times my brother! This is one of the problems we have in this country. People hear and report stories without confirming their authenticity. I refuse to judge Osuofia until I read his own account. It appears many Nigerians are seeking for opportunity to 'molest' celebrities. ANOTHER NONSENSE STORY...!!! |
Osrachingy: Pls who is K SoloAbeg helep mi ask dem o! The guy be like DANFO DRIVER - SUO!!! Celebrity ko! Cele-bridge ni!!! Seriously, why would Channels TV report this kind of bulllschit? |
iykak47: Up heathland, the Naze millionaires. The club won the cup last year and it has done it again this year. Proudly ImoliteGreat achievement from my home team! The good old days of Spartans and Iwuanyanwu Nationale are back!! I couldn't make it to the Stadium to cheer them up due to another pressing engagement. |
@Poster, your points are cool although it appears you are new on NL no wonder you are so excited about your 'new discovery'. I was once like you anyway. Since it is said that everything that has advantages has disadvantages, I would like to dwell more on the later. (1) NAIRALAND promotes tribalism, sectionalism and ethnocentrism, little wonder most topics turn out to become tribal war front. Seriously, Nairaland is doing a 'good service' toward the disintegration of the country. There are so much hating and hatred in here. Thus healed national wounds have been brought back to fore thanks to Nairaland. (2) NAIRALAND has soft spot for Islamic religion; that is why one can hardly read negative stories about Islam around here. Opposite is however the case with Christianity, as often times negative stories make it to front page. (3) NAIRALAND is a platform where many unsuspecting people are easily duped (419ed). This is my opinion on Nairaland, so let no one crucify me. |
Chai, Chineke mi e!! So na the small money wey big brother give this guy na im him wan come spend for Naija. Big man afo-nshi (shit'belle big man)! Millionaire in Kenya Shillings! Puuueeehhhhhhhh!!!!! Prezzo wan finish wetin him start inside BBA house. When him do 'do am', the love go disappear! Goldie, don't mind him o! Don't even mind those speaking evil of you; they are not better. Frankly speaking, you are a wife material, if all what we saw you do in BBA was not acting. Although, I was a bit disappointed with your weak emotion. |
Chai, Omotola too mucccssshhh!!!! Una dey see wetin I dey see?!!! lol! |
mikeapollo: It is interesting that this matter has come up this way.Your assertions are totally incorrect. High life, back in the days, was generally classified as West African style of music which possibly originated from Ghana and spread to other Aglo-phone West African countries namely Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia. Overtime, this style of music has evolved. One thing I know, in the late 80s and 90s, the Nigerian music industry witnessed the likes of Mike Okri, Felix Liberty, Chris Hanem, Christy Igbokwe Felix and Mossyx, etc who were conspicuously playing what one may call modern highlife or afro-hiphop. Hope you did not deliberately leave them out in order to drive home your point? Meanwhile, would you be kind to name those Ghanaian artists who purported introduced modern (high-tempo) highlife for comparison? |
semid4lyfe: Good development but I'll rather watch than listen to a match. . . .Even while driving? |
OYINBOGOJU: Does my comment pains you that much?Your comment exposes your folly. Whosoever taught you about "freedom of expression" should have equally told you that it has limitations too. If any of these men were your biological father, would you go about insulting them because you have "freedom of expression"? By the way, I thought you are Yoruba by ethnicity? Whatever happened to your respect for elders and the elderly that Yorubas are known for? On a last note, I would rather be a "Church Rat" than be a WITCH DOCTOR'S CLIENT like you. Be warned! Don't let me harm you (this is not a joke)!! |
Truth be told, the two songs are similar! Many Naija artists are intellectual property thieves who scavenge on the songs of other artists from within and outside, that many of us are not exposed to, only to change the lyrics and produce. Lazy things!!! Flavour came to limelight through late Cardinal Rex Lawson's hit song "Ashawo". I do not reckon him as a musician. For this nonsense to stop, the government should criminalize it. Many of these copy cats are smiling to the bank whereas the owners/beneficiaries of these intellectual property are wallowing in penury. If the likes of Rex Lawson, Osadebe, Victor Uwaifo, etc had not produced original songs, probably we wouldn't be listening to anything today. |
