Keepuplive:
My interview was on the 4th of August, Which is almost 2 months and 3 weeks, getting to 3 months now, but I have not receive any response. I emailed the consulate, but no response from them. I also emailed the Federal Office of Administration responsible for handling visa application on three different occasions. The first responses I got was “ Your digital visa request has been transmitted on 06.09.2023

The responsible immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) is the city council of Karlsruhe.

We have not yet received the physical documents of your visa application.

We will forward your papers to the immigration office immidiately after their arrival.”

Then after a week, I emailed again, then got this response
“ The responsible immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) is the city council of Karlsruhe.

The original documents have been sent to the responsible immigration office on 20.09.2023

The visa application will be processed there.

If you have any questions regarding the current processing status, please contact the
immigration office.”

Then after waiting and emailing again I got this
“ your visa application is still in progress at immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) in city council of Karlsruhe.

We have no information about the current processing status or processing duration at immigration office.

For further information please contact immigration office (Ausländerbehörde).”

I am confused on what to do next, any help or advice will be appreciated and what’s the possibility of my visa being approved.

I think the saying “it depends on the city your school is” might actually be true and probably what’s causing the delay due to the number of applicants that are traveling to that particular city, because, a friend of mine who did her own interview on the 4th of August 2023 got her Approval Mail on the 4th of October and her DHL delivery on the 13th of October with her visa stamped. Just be patient for a while and hopefully you’ll be contacted when they’ve finally processed your application.

This is totally wrong! if you have Deutschland Stipendium, You don't need any block account or sponsorship.
The letter of scholarship is your means of sustainance.

No it’s not. You might have mistaken Deutschland Stipendium for DAAD!!!

First of all, the Deutschland Stipendium scholarship is just a premium qualification you can get by chance to book for an appointment under Category A and it costs just €300 per month and lasts for 2 semesters (12 months) which is equivalent to €3.600 a year and it’s not even up to the €11.280 needed for a blocked account. So how would €300 sustain you for a month, and €3.600 for a whole year? It’s either you block the remaining amount, or rather get a fully blocked account to avoid any negative chances at the embassy or get a Sponsorship Letter to support your scholarship.

Good Morning all,
Please I need guidance as regard my situation. I applied for CAT A visa and I have been given an AD. I have deutchland stipendium scholarship, do I need to still show funded blocked account at the interview?

Yes you do. That, or a Letter of Sponsorship.
Having the Deutschland Stipendium is just a means for you to be qualified to apply for Category A and also to fund your studies when you arrive but you’ll also need to show them a proof of your fully funded Blocked Account or your Letter of Sponsorship, so they’ll know you can sustain yourself during your stay in Germany.

Hello everyone. I'm currently in 200L and would like to get my 100L transcript but there isn't an online avenue for those who haven't already graduated to do this. I also tried downloading the 100L transcript available on my kofa but it came out blank (my personal details were filled but no grade or GPA was shown). How can I go about getting this transcript without going to Benin (I stay in Lagos). At least an emailed digital copy.

Hey bro.
Were you still able to get your 100 level transcript? I’m also in 200 level and trying to request for my 100 level results. I tried printing it out on my kofa page but there was no grades.

Thank you very much. Should I use EUROPASS for the cv?

Whichever format you use is okay. As long as you’ll be able to print it out in hardcopy for the interview.

If you are in Cat B and you have not applied for visa, to be honest you will need to defer your admission. Going to Germany is not feasible this year at all. Getting AD takes up to 18months now. I will advise you apply for AD now then reach out to the school to defer your admission

In addition to this, first of all check if your school is participating in the Deutschland Stipendium Scholarship and check the deadline and requirements as well to see if you’re eligible to apply. But you’ll have to enroll first, and hopefully if you’re given the scholarship, you can book your appointment under Category A.

Good evening everyone. Please, I have two questions about the CV we are to submit for the Visa appointment.

The checklist says "A detailed computer-written curriculum vitae with information on your acquired diplomas, references and certificates"

1. What format do they expect it to be in? Europass or any format is accepted??

2. I currently have these headings on my CV.
- Education
- Work Experience
- projects
- technical skills
- honours and awards
- certificates
- leadership skills
- language
- references

I am trying to keep it within 1-2 pages and I am wondering if these headings are too much?

Thank you.

That’s a lot of heading but if it contains the two pages then there’s no problem. I hope you added your CONTACT as well? But if you can combine two headings, such as SKILLS & QUALITIES, EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES, it might also save you some space.

Please, is there anyone who have done his/her visa interview lately for Cat A. Please what is the modality. Were you asked to write any exam at the embassy or just documentation and interview?

Depends on who’s interviewing you and the course you’re studying. Sometimes most people going for Bsc or Msc are usually the ones given questions to solve. But not all.

Please can someone with 2.2( second class lower) get a scholarship) want to apply so I can change to category A although I've booked appointment for category B

I really don’t know much but I think it depends on the scholarship you’re applying for. Few accepts such. Although just check their requirements and the CGPA they require to be qualified for the scholarship.

Thanks for providing more context to the topic. Was your visa application approved with the scholarship?

Also, did you have to come with the original letter of the scholarship or a digital printout will do?

Well if the scholarship approval documents were sent by post, then you’ll have to photocopy it and take both the original and the photocopied one for your interview. But if they were sent by email, I’d suggest you just print it in colored copy and photocopy it. Either one will do.

Hey Guys,

What's the specification of scholarship you need to apply as category A.

I know the sites states "holding a scholarship financed from German public funds or European supported funds for a study or a PhD in Germany or"

But how much, does it have to be fully funded? How much is enough for the scholarship to be valid

Any amount of scholarship is enough to qualify you for Category A (100€ and above). But it has to be a public scholarship from the government. Although you can use a private scholarship and try your luck. I know a few who used a private scholarship and are in Germany today.
Sometimes I feel like it doesn’t really matter if it’s public or private. They might just say PUBLIC because it’s hard to get one especially for bachelors students. Well sha, just get the scholarship.

They usually return passport during the interview. The insurance (both medical & travel) depends on if you have them there with you or not. For me, I used Fintiba plus, (Mavista to be exact), that comes with everything including the both type of insurances. If you used fintiba plus to do your blocked funds, you can submit it immediately together with your documents during the interview.

If not you will be asked to submit it later together with your passport.

But if I may ask, how did you tell them your intended travel date? Did you send it through an email to them?

Wow! A huge congratulations to you ❤️

But didn’t you submit your passport with your health and travel insurance? Or you submitted those when you did your interview?

Yes I submitted my proof of funds together with my health insurance and passport. Not on interview day. Separately. I didn’t have it then . So they gave me more time to submit it after my interview. It was just Gods grace.

God is great indeed.
Congratulations once more.

But please if I may ask, is it possible to just submit the travel insurance as well and also leave your passport with them on the day of interview?

I booked for my interview 21st of Jan, 2022.

My Applied school is University of Göttingen. Winter semester, 2023.

Well since you’re be starting class for the winter semester which normally starts September/October, I think maybe this month or next, you’ll get a decision email from the embassy. Stay positive

Hi everyone, please can I book for an appointment under CAT A with just a sponsorship letter

Yes you can.
But you must have already been admitted to a private or public university and have a first class degree if going for a Master’s degree course or holding a scholarship from a German public fund to pursue a Bachelors or Masters degree before applying for Category A.
But if you don’t have a Scholarship nor a First class degree then you’re to apply for Category B.

Hi all, good day. I'm new here. I just got admission for masters studies in berlin and I have a couple of questions please gurus in the house help me out. Can I book for an appointment first while waiting to finish the process of funding block account so that I can secure interview date as early as possible?

Well if you came out with a first class degree or you got a scholarship from a German public fund, you should book for an appointment under category A after funding your blocked account, because your date can come within 2 or 3 days.

But if you don’t have a scholarship nor did you come out with a first class degree, then book for an appointment immediately even if you haven’t funded your account yet, because you’ll be called after a year for your interview. But that can be changed if you can apply for any available scholarship.

There's no approval (e)mail, rather a decision email, which could either be an approval or disapproval in the end.

A decision email usually takes up to 6 weeks depending on the city you applied to in Germany, the beginning of your study, your type or category of study.

Thanks for response 🙏🏽
I appreciate

Thanks alot for the letter, I really appreciate it.

Please in the letter, also tell them your plans of coming back to your country after graduating, so they won’t think you intentions is other than studying cos these people are smart.

Something like
“ After the knowledge gained after my studies at (name of your university), I plan to travel back to my home country, where I intend to work in (any organization or companies related to the course you’re studying)

For example if you’re studying Aviation Management

“After the knowledge gained after my studies at Hochschule Worms, I plan to travel back to my home country, where I intend to work in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria - NANTA, and contribute to the aviation international system in my country. This appeal, I perceive as an extraordinary opportunity to be given a chance to further my studies in Germany and gladly interact with students and scholars from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds coming from all over the world.”

Good afternoon everyone, I really need your assistance. I just got a rejection letter from the embassy. The reason for rejection being doubts about my purpose as I didn't clearly explain my intentions to study. I would like to get some advice on how to go about this if it is possible to appeal.. Your advice would be appreciated... Thanks

This is scary! But how?
Didn’t your interview go well? Or you didn’t write a good motivational letter!!
So sorry about this. I think you should check the embassy’s website to see if there’s an appeal to be made when one’s visa is rejected.

Sorry for the inconvenience does one have to secure admission before applying for these scholarships?

Yes. You'll need to get an admission to a private or public school in Germany before you apply or before any foundation consider you for a scholarship. Because in your application, you'll be asked to either submit your admission letter or your certificate of enrollment for that current semester. Among other documents to submit is your CV, Letter of Motivation and recommendations and others. But some of these documents are not mandatory
