Hello,
Sorry to hear about what you are going through.
If you are in Bradford, and you don't mind working in care, there are shifts that you can pick at my trust in Wakefield.
It is a mental health trust, the job is less stressful like care home, and less incidents reported.
You can search "SugarMan leeds" as they are the ones that handles most of the shifts.
If you need more information, please send a PM.

Ameryx:
Hi all, I think I need a bit of encouragement. I moved to the UK on a student visa in December. Before relocating, I was doing quite well back home. Earned around 2-3m monthly profit after expenses from my business. In fact, I wanted to reward myself with a Range Rover Evoque (about 13m) then but Nigeria was in a bad state and I used up my savings to fund my relocation. I landed with high hopes, about £4000 in cash. The reason for my earlier statements is not to brag, but to show you that I was doing well, and I just felt coming here would be saner. I loved it here whenever I travel for vacation, so I was without doubt that life here would be easier.

To my main aim of writing, I think I am depressed. I could not find a job in my first 3 months here. The only job available that most students were doing was care, and I wasnt vaccinated, so I could not start. I eventually started in March and the job gives me a mental breakdown each time. I am on my feet for 11 hours, and get sent around by staff who feel they are better than agency workers, I get hit by residents, I have been racially abused several times ,I did it for 2 months and I had to quit.

I have looked for warehouse jobs, not been lucky. Even customer care work, they reject because of my visa status. I am fast losing it, there is so much my brain can take as a woman. Does anyone know how else I can get a job, I stay in Bradford, so anything around Leeds is fine. I can even work in Manchester if the pay is okay. Please help.

I am the airport now, about to board Ethiopian Airline to London. No one has asked me for any covid screening at the airport. I earlier called the Ethiopian customer care and they said they required a covid screen, meanwhile, when I contacted them on twitter they said no need for covid test, that I only need to fill in the landing form on gov.uk site.
So guys, don't waste your time and money if you are going to UK via Ethiopian airlines

I just got a mail that passport is ready for return now..

Did biometrics on March 3rd..

chaRloBass:

Hi Nonso, i received a mail from Sheffied Escalation that a decision has been made on my application since 9th June but i've got any feedback yet and my biometrics was done 14th February. Is there any reason for the delay?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 1:06pm On Sep 01, 2020
We are in the same boat.
I applied 3rd March and I'm expecting my passport.

Sheffield sent me a mail on Friday to apologize for the delay in passport return. Surprisingly, they confirmed in the mail that a visa has been issued, but they are short-staffed, hence the delay.

They plan to return passports for vignettes by end of this week, hopefully, they will return ours, or they will have time to deal with ours.

beckycute1:
Hi guys,

Any pre covid ( March) tourist application yet to receive their passport/Visa?
I feel like I'm the only one left. Went to the TLS office and they confirmed they dont have it yet.
Pls can i just visit the BHC office cos i really do need mt passport back.

Those UKVI people are just clowns.. After expiration of the 15 working days escalation mail, I sent a follow-up mail to them and to request for the location of my passport. Can you believe they sent me a reply that they are re-escalating, and I should give them another 20 working days. I guess they are overwhelmed. I learnt that people (health workers) that requested for visa change/elongation within UK are also facing similar issues. Overall, it is annoying mehn

Ameey:
Please is there anyone who did biometrics after 20th of March prior lockdown that has gotten visa? Or do you know of any one with an old application that was granted visa recently?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 2:25pm On Aug 24, 2020
I used a dollar card and was charged 8$

ss2020:

Please What's the approximate naira equivalent they charge for a paid email enquiry?
Judging from your post, it seems u have sent mail to them twice now

Mine is still "application received by DMC"
Date of biometric capture was march 18th
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 12:30pm On Aug 24, 2020
I just tracked now, and it is still with DMC. I have sent another mail to ukvi. It is frustrating. What about you?

Ameey:
Any update on your application now, I guess it's past 15 working days.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 3:10pm On Aug 19, 2020
Yes..

They requested passport number and GWF no...

lightest:

did they sent u a mail saying the will get back to u in 15 working days?

when u did paid enquiry, did they ask u give more details on ur passport no, and some other info?

best of luck ahead

We are in the same shoe... Try to escalate via mail to the UKVI.... I did escalate 13 working days ago, and they r yet to return my passport. Still showing transfer to DMC

Ameey:
I'm seriously fed up! Is it a crime to apply in March? They're yet to clear backlogs, yet new applications are being given priority.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 9:41pm On Aug 17, 2020
We are in the same boat.
I applied March 3rd. Still expecting my passport.
pheemeehan:
It is a tough time with many people whose application were submitted for review in the month of March. After 5 Months, people are still waiting and hoping to get their passport returned with Visa granted. I submitted my application March 16 shortly before lockdown. Sometimes in the Month of May I sent a mail to UKVI through a paid service and got a reply that my passport is safe and secure. Recently, I sent a reminder and was informed am going to get escalated attention and should expect response in 15 working days and the next day I got another message from SITEL which I attached here for information. I will like people with similar experience to share what outcome they got from the process.
Travel / Re: Tlscontact Express Courier Return Service After Receiving Decision Email by moskito36(m): 2:23pm On Aug 17, 2020
Sometimes it is a generic mail sent if they have been unable to complete the visa process within 15 working days. It doesn't always mean there is a problem.

No need to panic.

Congratulations.

Please if I may ask, how did you know that your passport was ready since TLS did not update your tracking.

Also, how were you able to enter for collection when you didn't have proof that your passport was ready for collection.
ugosimba:
Good Evening All,

I submitted my application in March got a survey questionnaire in April (but was skeptical in answering the questions) lockdown took over, after lockdown no response from Tls as to status update.
I went today for collection of passport, Visa approved after 10 years UK ban.

I have benefitted from nairaland alot, since 2014 especially in the US section.

My candid advice is to read from scratch, take notes, learn from others,do the right thing and pray.

Hardwork pays off.

Thank you JESUS nara ekene mo

I don't think so.. An escalated mail sent to me said I should get my passport within 15 working days. Today is day 6... Still waiting..
Ameey:
Hello, please has your application been transferred to VAC now? Since you said a decision has been made on it.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 12:17pm On Aug 07, 2020
I don't think occupation does make it faster. I'm a doctor, and they are yet to return my passport.
johnez1987:
Those of you that have gotten Tier 2 visas post July 27th. What is the occupation you got the visa for? Cos i feel like they expedite applications for those in the medical & health field.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 7:04pm On Aug 06, 2020
UKVI has responded my mail by saying they will escalate my complaints. However they said that a decision has been made.

I used paid service.
patdman:

any response from UKVI? was this via the paid service

I did biometrics 3rd March, I am still expecting my passport.

Michael820:
Please who else is yet to get any update on his/her visa application after data capturing, I did mine March 11th and I am still yet to get an update.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 9:15pm On Jul 04, 2020
I sent a mail (paid enquiry) to UKVI to know the status of my application when I felt it's getting delayed and they replied that a decision has been made on the application. I am yet to get a mail for passport collection.
johnez1987:

I had my biometrics on March 19. A decision was not reached before the lockdown. Did you get an email from UKVI that your passport is ready for collection? How did UKVI confirm the decision to you?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by moskito36(m): 4:24pm On Jul 04, 2020
I guess I am in the same "situation" as you... I did my biometrics March 3rd (Tier 2) and up till now, I am expecting them to return my passport. Meanwhile, UKVI confirmed to me that a decision has been made since March.. I don't know why TLS is yet to return passport despite opening for passport return last week.

johnez1987:
Has anyone who was awaiting a decision from UKVI before the lockdown received a reply on their application? I’m just wondering if they are attending to people who have already done biometrics.

Please how did you contact them via email? I have being trying to contact them using the link i got from gov.uk unfortunately, it is not accepting my payments (both my naira and dollar denominated cards). I did biometrics on 3rd March and I have not heard anything from UKVI.

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that we have made a decision on your application.

We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone.

However the visa application centre will be in contact with you in regards to collection or delivery of your passport.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

I haven't seen anyone who used app-generated statements. Get from the bank, duly signed and stamped.

If you are doing self-service, checklist is part of the documents you should upload.

I have used the one generated from my gtbank internet banking, and I got the visa.. I even highlighted some payments with marker...

Once you have a couple of lump sums that isn’t consistent they get skeptical until you actually analyse the origin of those funds .

I used same bank statement.. The only difference is that I received my February and March salary..

Also, I addressed all the reasons for previous denial in my cover letter which were:

1.Initially low opening balance of 298000- I told them the reason
2.Closing balance of about 1.3 at refusal- I was saving and withdrawing less often since my wife works and contributes to family purse.
3. Origin of funds in my account- salary only (backed up with pays lip)

It was assumed my account was artificially inflated- and I showed that the funds are still available and has even increased since my salary was being paid.

Docs submitted
1. Bank statement of salary
2. Six months payslips
3. Marriage certificate
4. Birth certificate of my 2 kids
5. Letter of introduction from work
6.cover letter to explain my circumstances
7. Hostel booking.

Practically same things I submitted in my first application, only that I addressed the issue raised in rejection letter.

moskito36 congrats where did you apply at first and secondly did you submit your 2 application in the same place kindly let me know how you explain the funds in your acct

Both applications were at ikeja Lagos

I explained in-flows by supporting it my pay slips (which I also attached in my first application). I highlighted the inflows to show its my monthly salary with the payment narrative. This were also referenced to in my cove letter.
