Grandlord: With the rapid development of AI, I think an automated society as seen in SciFis like Star Wars, is undoubtedly, not far away. We'd see machines continue to take over jobs( programming included) done by humans as it is happening today.
What raises concerns though, is whether we'd end up building an uncontrollable intelligence that totally surpasses ours and in extension, the consequences such possibility might have on our existence as a specie.
Fingers crossed The "Programming included" part, got me. |

Hello guys, It's 2 AM in the morning. I created this thread so that we all could rub minds on our opinion about AI We all know AI is the future, sure, that's where the world is heading to at the moment, it is leading in the 4th industrial revolution I don't need to mention the applications of AI, which are innumerable, we see it everywhere with Google, Facebook and the U.S tech giants at the front-line of Companies that make use of this new technology. Famous Physicist Stephen Hawking once said the emergence of artificial intelligence could be the “worst event in the history of our civilization.” Now let me ask my first question Do you think AI will be the greatest mankind will ever make, and what are your other thoughts about AI?? please drop your wonderful opinions let's argue small |

I don't wish to be seen as a pessimist, but, I think the world has come to that point where we have to face reality, poverty is real, and the thing is, it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, it's nobody's fault that our mind keep wondering how we got to the point we are now, that we can't even afford the necessities of life.
Nobody was born with negative thoughts
It's the harsh realities of life.

elefind: There is nothing new under the sun, the world research and improve on old or existing ideas. nothing really too special or totally new, the niche can do more better. I've learnt a good lesson that I failed at something I learned the experience, the risk and also the shame. But it's a good thing to try your best at somet hing which I did. And for those badmouthing me I'm not surprised at all "A Nigerian will always be a Nigerian" that negative mindset towards your fellow, jumping to conclusions when you don't even know the full story. we only celebrate those that flaunt cars and other expensive stuff, if it were to be huspupy I know you will be making prayer point like "Baba God locate me". what if the startup become successful? what if it becomes the next big thing in Africa? every man falls but when you fall you stand up. It's not like that Bro, nobody is badmouthing you, it's just that, Technology is changing and it's moving towards AI and automation. The dotcom bubble is no more, if you were around during the dotcom bubble in a Western world, with your idea, you might be the Mark Zuckerberg we all admire today, who knows? What I have to say to you, its quite simple. Now, you've gained an experience, that's for sure, use that experience to your own advantage. Build something people wants and needs Turn that into a very marketable product. Don't invest your own money, if you know you don't have enough. Read my lips, Don't invest your own moneyInvestors would eventually come, once they notice you're solving a problem. The key is solve a problem, people would pay you for it. All the Tech Billionaires you know, are all solving a problem, don't you think so? And just in case you don't know, they are all moving toward Automation, try and learn and improve, God willing an idea will come to you, that will change many lives. Which will in-turn make you money. Just learn from your mistake. Success doesn't come to those who fall and remain on the floor, it comes to those who never stop trying and getting up to their feet. My 2 cents, though |

Politics › Re: Buhari Threatens To Relocate Fg Projects From States That Frustrate Contractors by MountainView: 12:28pm On Oct 22, 2019 |
nextstep: I'm not a fan of Buhari, but I support this 100%. Some jobless youths and their community leaders were threatening to derail 2nd Niger Bridge, so let's see if this will make them rethink.
Contractors are not in the business of providing jobs. They are in the business of making money, and providing jobs is one side benefit, but they use only the qualified labour they want.
Government is supposed to create enabling environment for businesses to run, which in turn provides jobs. The fact that the youth in a state are jobless is not the contractor's headache... that's the responsibility of the state. States can suggest, and even make jobs a pre qualification for giving the contract, but a contractor should not be obligated to employ people it does not need.
Youths are supposed to vote in the people that will provide an enabling environment. From governor, to senator, to representative (federal and state), to LGA chairperson. They failed to do so, now they should enjoy the fruits of their vote. Good day Sir, i saw your message, I've sent a reply via E-mail |
