(Song on my mind) "see dem, see dem. Dem don come again..." |
@some in the civil war. Remember a few unarmed soldiers came to our house (@ Ajagba, Irele Lga ondo); sat in front of the house just gisting, I suppose. Then suddenly 2 of them started fighting, 1 picked a chair & the others struggled to restrain both men. @ the end they all left quarelling. How old was I? To date I don't know, but I must ve been pretty young (may be around 1) Older 1s kept telling me I was too young to be able to remember the incident each time I told this story to them later as youngster. |
Boy o boy! Guys! |
Do also note that event centre is more than just the building: the car park is also a major construction item. You sound like you even don't have a location to build on yet. |
Xsolutions: As an Expert builder sir,how would a novice go about such project?1st get an architectural design from a competent architect. He/she will do u a set of drawings showing all facilities. A structural engr will do the structural design&detail; the architect can help u get the engr. I have architect associates I work with. 2nd ur builder/engr or QS will give u a cost estimate based on the design from stage 1 above. Then u start building. |
The cost of building is dependent on the struture type, design, location, facilities to be provided and accessories. I doubt that any competent engineer/builder/QS will give you a cost/estimation when he has not seen the complete set of (detailed) drawings. BW. By one storey do you mean single floor or "upstair" (2 floors). Cos to professionals (myself inclusive) one storey means 2 levels (upstair), i.e. you have ground & 1st floor. |
FreeGlobe:In other word, @freeglobe u're crying more than the bereaved. |
@Siena, man your 2nd narration really cracked me! Thank God for you. Now I'm happy allow my 4yr old son get familiar with every gadget of daily use. |
Mr. freeglobe, just always pay your tax. Lagos has no new tax law beside the ones before the current republic. If you are sure I'm wrong correct me. |
Youngman. What I posted is the way it should be. By high tax, what do you really mean? Be sure you have your info right. |
I have a feeling the military has finally taken matters into they own hands as they did when ND militants killed army officers along with their men during Yar' Adua's tenure. Good. Though dangerous. |
coolkris: This is a private owned industry what happened to our government what industry have they builtGovt is not supposed to build industries in a democracy. Creating right environment & putting right policies in place to encourage industrialisation should be govts' concern. |
julienne86: Why does everybody assume that I had sex with bro-in-law? Ok lets get this straight, when i marry my husband, i was a VIRGIN... he is the one and only man i have ever had sex with.Okay o, madam "virgin-@-marriage". Choose what's best for you. Eni meji kii padanu oro: bi eni a ntan o bamo eni nparo mo pe oun nparo (2 people can't lose in a game of deception" if the one being deceived does not know the liar sure his/her lies) |
abombom: lol...no op is not a bad pal. He knows about this thread. Op took his permission b4 doing this.OK youngman, so you want advice on how to get some freedom off your parent. I'll volunteer one, cos I understand your "pain": Do this: Ask your parent permission to go see/play with your friends while they are @home. If they refuse then let your friends come over anytime except night or too early in the morning. Keep showing a lot of respect & love they'll change. |
@OP, It's hard for me not to call you names. But you were a very bad girl. I put myself in your husband's shoes & believe me it won't be very pleasant for you & that bro if/when I find out this aspect of your past. It was wicked not to have said it b4 marriage. It will take divine grace not despise you & the brother for life. As Coogar said you're skrewed whichever way this comes into the open. But I think you should tell @least for your own health/sanity. You've already set husband's family up for crisis |
@OP, I think you're bad company for your pal, from the way you sound. & you're likely to influence him wrongly. Leave him with his parent. You didn't mention that he asked your advice, you know. However this is not a Nigerian thing, as some claim:The trad I know is one where once a teenager no one bring such restraints on you. Good parents only need to know what their kids are up to. This is still the way it is in "rural" areas |
Noblechyk: Simple question 4u cos I believe u were in Nigeria during d Odi debacle. Did Odi military invasion solve d militancy in dat region?Yes it did. Did you ever hear or read of any militant uprising again the rest of OBJ's tenure? They all sprang up soon as they had a member of MEND in Abuja (some of you guys are beginning to irritate one) |
tatiana009: Lmao, yes o. Once we learn to act like that we will all buy plenty jewelry and live happily ever after. Such simple mindedness!Suprise! Life is really as simple as that. There's Yoruba song: "Ewo gele yeye lori aji gbo t'oko...". It means "Behold the beautiful headgear on the obedient (submissive) wife". |
@courage, I wish you well. But just remember that NL opinions is an infinitesimal representation of the nation. The reality is out there. & it will be bad to bungle the next opportunity we'll have to kick PDP out of national life. |
That will be very interesting. |
@courage89, you cannot divorce democracy from intense politics. You know someone reliable said he asked Buhari what strategy he had to win the last election & the baba had none concrete. How will he deal with the NAS if his politics is not good. Being politician does not mean you've to be corrupt & unable to fight same. Oh! Jonathan in? The man is dull for his position (I guess that's why those who nominated him to be VP, then did. He's serving the purpose of PDP rogu). He's a fraud (for lack word @moment). |
NO. He's not likely to win. The baba may be a good person but he's just not a politician & does not know politics. You need to know politics to rule successfully in a democracy. &I, personally, think he's become stale. |
FSU: When ACN does its BOT meeting, does exconvict and drug-pushing Chicago certificate forger, Tinubu, not attend? You desperately need to educate yourself so you be free from the lies you've fed about Tinubu by your "fathers". For starters that cert forgery allegation was created by Afenifere of then. Go find out lazy chap. |
@Mod. Thank you for making the correction. Our education sector's really in bad state, even the expensive private schools don't really help much. |
Moderator please correct the "olding" in the heading of this thread. It presents us in bad light. Thank you. |
CHAIRMAN1: Bros, u think say na the course rep you be for futo be this? |
CHAIRMAN1: Bros, u think say na the course rep you be for futo be this?Hey! Was afam really in futo? & How did u know? Anyway @afam I'm impressed with ur ambition. U need a lot of money for philantropy (& employment generating biz) in ur area. Be around a lot. The best teacher of the politics of it that I know today is the man you hate so much: TINUBU. He'll make a gr8 mentor believe me. & A councillor is just an officially paid thug. He does nothing! I May add asap later |
The cooking gas (methane) will be by-product of anaerobic digestion of organic matter (human & animal waste in this case, your leftover akpu, amala, eba, etc can thrown the mix too). The public will not even know the source of the gas cos it shouldn't smell any different from LPG. |
yemi2plus2: 2001 that almost 12yrs ago dudeAre Fulanis & their cows now roaming any of those islands? Please answer o. |
sosereal201: what the man means is plain and simply,we must try sometime to see the positive in his actions and words.he means we should do away with discrimination and be each other brother.so by replacing ethnicity with citizenship is a step in the right direction to achieving that goal.isnt that what we all want?I don't think GEJ even knew the content of that speech before it was read! That's my point! Otherwise I would've called him confused. This is the minister's opinion. |
I very much doubt that Mr. President was ever aware of the content of this speech. Is Mr. President's native community not one those ND islands? How did the Fulanis get their cows there? I was in Wilberforce island, where Amasoma & Ogobiri are located in 2001, I did not see any Fulani with cow there. All these ministers&aides may just be misrepresenting GEJ, knowing his faults. |
