The govt should just impose another Total lockdown following the daily increase.

Thats the only way the virus could be defeated.

WHO, Bill Gates, CNN and 'woke' nairaland psuedo-intellectuals won't like this.

Watch how vehemently a coordinated campaign of vigorous rebuttal would be waged in the coming days discrediting this drug and the study.

My advice still remains: my people, do all you can to stay alive, take your ginger, garlic, honey, dogonyaro, chloroquine, vitamin C, Madagascar tonic, etc...they all work.
Resist anyone who tells you the best option is to just lay down and die like Ambode rather than fight like Obaseki.

Oluwademilade:
I'm a Christian, but I have no choice but to support government on this one.

Before we make argument of banks being allowed to operate, let's consider this. My experience shows that banks have been able to implement the social distancing effectively. When one customer is done with his/her transaction, another one is allowed into the banking hall. At any point in time, there are less than 20 clients in the banking halls I've visited till now since this restriction was put in place. Others have to wait outside and take turns. Let's not forget that banks provide essential service also for all categories of people. Even at that, most transactions that would take you to the bank can be done online now.

I agree that social distancing is easier to observe in churches than markets. But don't forget that most cases of Covid-19 spread occur in enclosed environments. Ventillation is key and the market has that. Churches can restrict gathering to smaller number of worshippers, but that's not the only way the virus spreads.

When you hold multiple services, then an infected person can worship in the first service, leave droplets behind on surfaces for the second and third service worshippers to pick it up and take home to share with their loved ones. In the church, you observer anointing service, laying of hands, offerings and tithes etc. This is a thriving atmosphere for the virus to spread and it's too big a risk to take when we have the option of praying at home. It's not the same as being in church physically, but I think that will do for now.

Exempting the aged from the service only protect them if they live alone. Ohterwise, their kids can go to church and bring the virus home for their aged parents. Mortality rate for people above 60 years is 18%. That means 1 in every 5 infected 60 year olds and above dies from the virus. The risk is not worth it.

Keep places of worship locked as it is.

Can this government just agree that the lockdown thing has failed?

This makes no sense.
Large number of people have been gathering in markets and pushing themselves in bus stops in Lagos everyday since they eased the lockdown. What is church gathering compared to that?

Corona has spread round Lagos and beyond. We should just be thankful that it is only causing mild symptoms which many people are treating at home.
my point exactly.. how many hours will can a church service possibly last?

1. Every youth can't go about creating a vaccine for "one virus". There are other fields their expertise are required.

2. It's rude to involve one's parents in an argument, more so, his grandparents which I'm sure are well older than you... Besides, the guy didn't have the conversation with you but Otedola... Speaks a lot about your upbringing. One thing is certain, you just refused training

3. You don't know him, so don't conclude he is jobless. If he had done what you suggested, you'd be the first to call him an online beggar

4. I know you want attention, so here you go:
a. By "Nigerian men" , I hope you know that includes all the men in your family except you don't understand English?

b. Sex starved? Girl, you should change your circle. It's obvious you've been hanging with " chewing-gum boys" and these set of guys are known to want sex all the time.

You need an upgrade!

I hope you are ready for what is to come on this thread?

Don't play the "women supporting women card" here cos you alone called them out and they have a right to defend themselves.

You really don't have to comment on every thread as you seem troubled undecided

Cheers!
this is epic. Lol

HealthRe: COVID-19 Patients Having Fun With Drum At Isolation Center by Moz22: 11:46am On May 20, 2020
emkz:
Until corpses start loitering the streets in Nigeria, until our hospitals are overwhelmed to the brink, until children cannot bid farewell to their parents because they have to be isolated, until children cannot even bury their parents, until the morgues become overfilled, until our poor healthcare system is stretched to breaking point that infected patients are asked to stay in their homes and hope for a miracle, until our resolve as a country is tested, we still won't understand the scale of the problem we are dealing with.

For heavens sake, the President's secretary died from this virus. Our compatriots in the United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States have departed this life because of this virus. Pastors who claimed to have the cure have died from this virus. Catholic priests have died giving up their ventilators and caring for the sick. Our compatriots in Kano and Yobe have been departing this life at alarming frequencies. Yet, our compatriots are joking with this. We must commend government efforts to curtail the spread by jumping quickly to prevent the calamity but it is very important that our compatriots don't joke with these. Remember that many leaders did not respond on time, e.g., Trump, and they are dealing with alarming cases on the daily.

One thing we must note is that so far, Africans seem to have a strong immune system and resilience but we shouldn't stretch our luck too far. If we know we are not infected, there is no point taking advantage of the government's efforts by checking into the isolation centre and even denying our other compatriots who may need these facilities more than us.

Nigerians, PLEASE. By the time water fills your lungs and you struggle to breathe, you'd understand the enormity of this problem. A small experiment, hold your breath for 15 seconds, breathe for 5 seconds and hold your breathe again and you'd realize things shouldn't be taken for granted. People who are in critical states are put in a medically-induced coma until such a time that they are able to fight the virus. Because they can't breathe, the are put on ventilators. Now these people dancing are not in critical states but are there to prevent them from spreading the virus. We shouldn't support the levity with which they treat this virus, we should only pray that they never get to critical stages.
