BabsO2: NASCON publishing the information timely is the right thing. Withholding such information is not right. I doubt if they published it timely. I think Nascon already knew the merger won't succeed. Thats why the proposed bonus shares as part of their 2023 corporate action. If the merger had gone on, the bonus shares would have disrupted the initial arrangement as Nascon would become entitled ro more units of dangfood, higher than and different from what was sent to SEC for approval. They probably released the info in preparation for something else. We will dump, and they will buy back, claim the bonus shares and release the next line of action. In any case they played us and might still play us again and again. |

mikeapollo: I think the court would strike out the case. The court waited and gave opportunity to minority shareholders with contrary arguments that are opposed to the deal, to serve as a basis to throw out the case. Those seeking to delist do not have any mandate from the rest minority shareholders to do so on their behalf! My advice: Load more Oando units if possible! But we need to know the ruling the court wants to deliver before this conclusion. Remember there was an application by some other shareholders to be joined in the suit. Are you sure it is not ruling on that application? In any case, Ibthink its safer to wit fornthe official communication on today's proceedings. |

Princkez: Please how did TRANSCORP arrive at 40k eps...since pat is #32.6bn , and outstanding shares is about 40bn they are in the habit of dividing profit into those attributable to owners of the company and those attributable to non controlling interest[whatever that means] at the end, its just about haldmf of the profit after tax that is used to calculate the eps. Na their habit for years. The eps should ordinarily be 80kobo. |

KarlTom: BREAKING
NERC Approves N225/KwH Tariff Hike For Electricity Consumers
Only 15% of consumers affected
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved an increase of 300 per cent electricity tariff for Band A consumers in the country.
Accordingly, power distribution companies (DisCos) will be allowed to raise electricity prices to N225 ($0.15) per kilowatt-hour from N68 for urban consumers this month effectively from April 1, 2024.
Vice chairman of NERC, Musiliu Oseni, who made this announcement in Abuja, however, clarified that the rate increase will only affect 15 per cent of the electricity customers in the country.
Oseni also revealed that these customers, who represent 15 per cent of the population, also consume 40 per cent of the nation’s electricity.
Details Later…
Source: leadership.ng It should be more positive for transcorp than transpower reason is that the discos are tge direct beneficiaries of tariff hike and Abuja disco belongs to transcorp. Its not a general hike. Its one that affects only 15% of consumers, so it might not affect the cost of bulk purchase from the genco. I do not know however if this move effectively removes subsidy of electricity. That world benefit the gencos the more as govt subsidy debts would be eliminated and they will earn directly from the discos. |

ProphetUtuocha: With CBN's insistence that banks should not pay dividend from their forex gains, expect a significant pull back on the banks. Interesting times! But this has always been CBN's instruction since last year. In my own opinion, these things have already been factored in. Me also think that this year is not all about dividends. If not how can you explain all the interest in MTN, transcorp, nascon, dang sugar and many more that are not paying dividends or anything significant in that regards. Dividends are good but capital appreciation appears to be the focus at this time. |
