While I understand the average Nigerian's frustration with the banking system and the economy in general, and I don't begrudge people their right to put their money where they like, it is just plain crazy to see people come here and write epistles justifying where MMM gets 30% to pay out to others and trying to get more people to put in their money.

A simple search of MMM or Sergey Mavrodi on wikipedia will give you all the information you need to know on this Ponzi scheme. It WILL collapse eventually even though people are currently making money from it. So i think whoever has the risk appetite should go ahead and invest quietly, if u get paid, thank God, if you dont, lick your wounds in private. But please don't come on a public platform and try to encourage people to join you in a scheme, which when it goes bust you can't offer any help.

Somebody actually said MMM isnt making money and it's their ideology to help people. Jeez!! shocked shocked shocked
I don't know how people can believe that sh*t, so are the organizers father Christmas that they'll create a system to make thousands of people make huge money and they go home with nothing? And some say they make money from advert.Where is the advert on their site?

Do the math-
At 1million per plot, thats 740 plots- about 370 acres. Or 37 hectares. Pls correct my calculation if it's wrong. But however you slice it, that's what was paid for 3000 hectares.
Does this mean that under similar circumstances, you'll advise people in your village to take the deal?
See Oga, park. Lagos is adding great value to the place, if Lagos govt does not show interest in that place, it's value will not be more than 70k per Acre, like the Oshogbo farm. the reason why you're talking 1 million per plot is because of the massive development going on there, It's a land most people are running away from because it's mostly water land, with massive investments and developments, it's being transformed so much that a lot of foreigners are there now and the standard of living of the people there are getting a lot better. Also Lagos government can as well choose not to give them anything and they're are protected by the LandUseAct to do that - I'm not saying that's right . But this development is a lot to their benefit.

When the Stock market crashed and investors lost their hard earned resources what came of it? Was any one involved in the Stock market scam prosecuted?

When banks went under due to Board/Management unwholesome practises what punitive measures did CBN et all take? Innocent bank customers lost huge sums of money without remedy

You still not getting it, in my previous post I explained to you the edge facebook had over myspace... And that was what made facebook the next big thin on social media. It was unique at that point in time even the mighty HI5 didnt have such networking.....

Now let me remind you also. Yahoo was innovative it had a search engine, email services, and a multimedia web services but what happened. Google came and dominated the game, how did it do that. thought innovation and acquisition. Youtube was the deal breaker enabling them to develop more in advertisment, they also diversified into mobile tech, computer systems etc...

No one can dominate forever cause perfection is limitless. People are thinking and google and facebook will do what it can to buy over any budding threat to steal the show from them.
But the question you are not answering is why are these people selling? don't they think they can do better than facebook and google. Before people sell they've weight their options and realize that's the best decision they could make.

For example, google wanted to buy facebook, but facebook had enough insight to know that what they have is huge and can compete with Google, though they were still smaller then, they chose not to sell. Facebook will not try to buy Twiter because twitter is doing fine, twitter also won't sell because they can compete. Some of the companies that sold are better of selling because if not they might have become irrelevant by now. Social Network is a different game, when you have the market (especially at global level), it's very hard to catch up

Yeah! you're very correct but what would you do about it? Have you created your own solution to compete at that level? If you've not, then enjoy their affordable internet, atleast they're not harming anybody, they're even helping - Whatever their Motive is, as long as it add value to me and my country, I'm cool with - Abeg! Facebook, I get app wey I wan sell o.

Your site is not bad. I also have one myself, it's offline now, will be back on-line soon, But even you know you can't grow this site to and enviable height without facebook and Google - You need them for Traffic, Adverts and even Earning, the best most people can do is partner with them, not compete, because no matter what you say others are not listening - they're busy face booking and goggling. And if you want to create competition, God help you, let's see how long it will take you.

LOL... Facebook bough over instagram because it had the capacity to dislodge facebook. Do you remember Myspace. It came out years before facebook but what happened? My space was among the first major social media but facebook had an edge over it, facebook was programmed to network people of similar schools and organizations... Which brought old friends together from same schools and maintained new friends from same schools. That was the edge facebook had.
In the informative business you can be overthrown if your ideas are not creative enough. So when facebook sees a threat growing, they buy it before it matures.... That was why the cost ran into billions......
See forget it, those things won't happen again, Myspace Social Velocity couldn't compete with facebook, so it lost, but facebook, in addition to the fact that Billions can't do without it per day, like one-third of the world using it, they keep adding value to it almost everyday, the dynamics of human relationship is not too many, and facebook is almost covering everything - 'Send friend request', 'Follow-someone' 'like' - almost everything others are offering they're offering, Facebook came out with a WOW! factor, that makes them beat the competition, I don't know how many can come out with such wow anymore, because facebook's thousand developers round the world are covering too many aspects. Even if you're able to come out with something, what is the probability that they won't catch up with you before you reach 5Million users. That period you're talking about is gone for life. Even facebook learnt from myspace's mistake. And you've also answer the question, they buy before it matures, but even if they don't buy they can still beat that completion, how big is foursquare today? What foursquare can do, facebook is already doing with a simple app, so be wise. Facebook and Google will keep dominating, because they're never relenting!

Nobody is infiltrating into your life, if you don't want to join facebook for example, nobody will force you to join. Nigerians is 18Million on facebook, while our population is upto 180Million, those who don't want to be disturbed are still living their lives.

I understand you very well, my brother. But I need you to know that this is a greek gift. Why do you think he wants to spend millions of $ to give us affordable internet. This is deeper than what you think.

We are in the informative age. And social media is the next big thing in the world today. The richest people in the world today are majorly int the information business. The truth is, they want to know everything, infiltrate into our lives and control us eventually. Just as their ancestors did during colonization.... Our fore fathers were lured and eventually exploited and enslaved.

Why do u think Facebook spent billions of $ buying over whatsapp, instagram ad others? Who is crazy enough to do that? Except the person has an agenda.
See the answer is obvious to everybody, They want to dominate the business world, there are two companies at the forefront of world domination, FACEBOOK and GOOGLE, so their 'agenda' is not hidden. I need to also ask you why did whatsapp and instagram also sell to facebook? Because they know that it's almost impossible to compete with them. If I have an app today that facebook is interested in, I will sell and become a billionaire, because if I don't sell i know facebook has the capacity to research, do something more powerful than mine and get me out of the market. Facebook can reproduce whatsapp, or something more powerful, but it might take them more time doing that and they might not get all the users when they're ready so they prefer to buy from guys already doing it and who also have the passion and capacity to develop it further with facebook's support. The only time a company should confront these two company is when you're very very sure what you have can beat theirs or they can't get you out of the market, Interestingly they're also the companies contribution the most to the future and advancement of global technology.

Remember how our fore fathers were deceived by the europeans, when they came with mirrors, alcohol, guns, and other eye candy stuffs. And how they were eventually manipulated, over thrown and exploited....

We are in the information age.... The wealthiest people in the world now are people that have the largest access to information. (Information technology)
Why did you think Whatsapp was bought over, instagram also for billions of dollars?
Is it not crazy for someone to spend billions of $ buying several social media platforms?

This is deeper than you think. Google and facebook are bent to harness every information it can grasp especially in 3rd world countries like ours who are fickle minded and too ignorant to know their left from right. They cant do that in Germany or france or china....
Everybody knows that at the bottom of it, it's business. It's Symbiotic relationship, You just have to be wise, when the US secretary came to Nigeria, was it not business, they don't go to countries that don't give them value, but it would be foolishness to turn them down because you think it's all business, because you need them as much as they need you, Facebook's interest in Nigeria will bring a lot of development, I was watching the town meeting and can already imagine business opportunities that would come out for Nigeria. Then some apps that'll be created custom to Nigeria - When he went to Kenya, his talk was around their MobileMoney, I won't be suprised if he creates a powerful solution that will support that. end of the day, Facebook will make much more money and those countries too will be enrich, advance in tech and businesses will benefit

I wish our own Rich men can be like him. Yes he's a business man and he obviously has interest in Nigeria, but he's going to invest in things that will encourage and make Internet affordable, supporting developers who have ideas but no money, among other things, to me, he's a Philanthropic business man.

Talking about overhyping, he is not overhyped, he is the 7th richest man in the world and facebook is one of the top brand worldwide, If I'm in Government now, I will do more than our govt have done to get his attention and show more interest in our country. Abi no be foreigh investors we they look for? what can be more foreign than this. In this case he's even the one coming, not the one that govt will go and be wasting country's resources traveling and trying to get attention of companies that are not interested.

And If I'm a celebrity, I will do more than our celebrities, call it as..licking, you must recognize when your helper is around you, and if Zucheberg shows interest in your project, you're made, even Americas are looking for his attention, how much more me. But some people are too proud, the only time you hear their voice is when they're shouting JONATHAN or BUHARI, they can die for those people, but people who are making quality contribution, they would be asking ' who is Zucherberg'. I respect 'TONY ELUMELU', and a few people truly adding value in this country, I don't foolishly Idol worship greedy politicians who are creating unfavorable condition for youth to succeed.

cryfrom the comments of the builders, they did not mention if a permit was obtained or not. However, government should also follow the due process in demolition . Two wrongs do not make a right. Further, if Government cannot provide any affordable lands and accommodation why destroy what people are struggling to put together except its an environmental hazard. Wicked world.
If they didn't get permits then they have themselves to blame, because govt have a master plan, and they have many development projects like bridges and roads, if their structures obstruct such developments, there's no other option than to be pulled down.

Yes, a woman should know how to cook but in the case where she doesn't, other factors should also determine the best action to take.

Does she want to learn?
Does she have other redeeming qualities about her?
Her personality, etc....

What if she doesn't know how to cook but she is industrious, hardworking and a really caring woman who contributes financially to the family, would you still act the same way? I doubt it.
Why will she not know how to cook? Is it that her mummy doesn't know how or she's too stubborn to learn or she doesn't help are mum in the Kitchen? I can't imagine how a full grown African woman can escape such lessons growing up right here, it must be a major cause for concern. But if the reasons given are genuine then of course the man should help her to learn, but end of the day, she need to know how.

That's crap.
There are a few reasons why marriage breaks - Infidelity, finance, quarrel, food, sex...

Cooking is definitely one of them, you know how to cook, you've removed one of the major cause of your marriage breaking. Some men will quarrel with their wives but still can't miss the food, quarrel settles at the family table. You don't know how to cook, you can't bring your family together, not just your husband, even your children.
