I see we are playing the "convenience" card yet again right? When it comes to the numbers game and politics (elections, census, state creation, revenue allocation) THEN it would be convenient to say that the igbos in the SS are not Igbos they are south southerners BUT once the political agenda is achieved then its back to the igbos in the south south NOT being REAL south southerners, right?

If we're being honest with ourselves, we'll agree that the North, especially the North east, deserves all the attention it could possibly get.
So why don't we go back to regionalism so the North can get all the attention from the North?

So this was what it was all about? Picking this rotten apple over that rotten apple? When would we learn? the system is corrupt, the constitution isn't even fit to be used as toilet paper. The system MUST change. We need restructuring and regionalism, we need a system where each region contributes to the FG and not a case where the FG contributes to the regions. We need regions to be in TOTAL CONTROL of their resources. Who does the presidency really help anyway?

That explains why they want everyone else to fail, so that they can "catch up". They have been trying to catch up for almost 60yrs now. The civil war destroyed the East, we rose up from the ashes of that unfortunate event and now we have reclaimed the top spots in the educational index.

Common sense is no longer common in Nigeria. Three pages, THREE PAGES on Nairaland and no one has even asked IF the allegations against this Nigerian is true. This isn't the first time a black man has been lynched, in some cases murdered and then accused of some random crime he certainly didn't commit, it happens to ALL blacks, in Asia, in Eastern Europe, in the Middle east (Qatar, UAE - the case of the sports presenter's son that was murdered by a jealous rich Arab student) even recently a black american student in his 20's was lynched and murdered in Greece IF not for the CCTV in the club that caught the incident by now the racist pigs would have accused him of raping someone or trying to steal something. These indian dogs are sub human animals, they have a deep lying hatred for black people. THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD FOCUS ON, instead people are saying - Afonja this, IPOB that. Look at the bigger picture you nincompoops!

IF this hell hole called Nigeria was a sane country, Our consulate in India would invite a representative of the Indian police in the province were this Nigerian was brutally lynched, the representative should present a police statement and PROOF that this Nigerian is actually guilty of what he is being accused of, failure to do that then those who attacked him MUST be brought to book in the next 7 days or else we expel their diplomats and ambassador from Nigeria BUT knowing how clueless this nation is and knowing how inept our minster of foreign affairs is, we probably wouldn't do anything about this!

People accusing me of offending the holy spirit and God should read up 1st King 22.

Micaih did NOT say the things the king jehosaphat wanted to hear, he said what God ministered to him.

The false prophet Zedekiah said what the king jehosaphat wanted to hear.

The ending was sad for Zedekiah and Jehosaphat. No man is worth worshipping, as true christians we are to worship the one and only true God. That is why i laugh when people who don't know their bible verses come here to place a curse on themselves thinking they are placing a curse on me.

We are to REBUKE false prophets. On numerous occassions this individual has shown just how much of a false prophet he is. From preaching heresy to his refusal to take a stand on issues regarding christians and their safety in Nigeria to his numerous preaching on how the church members should pour all their money into the store house ( translation into his pocket) to his vague ambigious prophesies, now he has finally showed his true colours. GreyLaw:
OP, I think you may have missed the context of the message from the pastor. Sometimes preachers have to cite examples to buttress their points.

I think it would be wrong of you to throw a blanket judgement on the man just because of a single speech/message.

Again, once you throw in tribal slurs into your assessments, you may lose every once of objectivity.
Surely you can see the subtle mockery the "God of men" was using when he made reference to lizards in the east being used as food. How could someone so revered make such distasteful and insensitive speech and from the holiest place in the church, the pulpit. We all need to open our eyes, read through the lines of every adulterated and filthy doctrine that some of these popular Nigerian pastor try to force down our throats. Then compare that with what Jesus Christ said in the bible. I have listed the bible verses above and have compared them to the filth that the G.O preached on Sunday. The truth is plain for all to see!

As for the "tribal slur", read through the pastor politicians Sunday speech then read through my post, I think you would find that the tribal slur was thrown out there by the revered G.O in a suggestive manner (I have a word that would perfectly describe what this acronym should truly stand for but I wouldn't go that far!)

Normally I wouldn't create a thread such as this because of the possibility of atheists and other unscrupulous characters hijacking this thread to promote their agenda, however at some point I believe the truth MUST be brought to light.

I read through G.O Adeboye Sunday speech here (excerpts quoted below) and I was terribly shocked to read what a so called revered Man of God (or as some would say these days, god of Men)shamelessly said to his church members from the pulpit on Sunday. This god of men went against ALL what the bible talks about in regards to the qualities of a TRUE Man of God. All through the bible, it is written that as Christians we should :

1. NEVER make a show of our righteousness.

Matthew 6:1 When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven.

When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward.

When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it.[a] 4 Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret, and he will reward you.

2. NEVER mock or rejoice over the unfortunate events that has befallen others, be them your enemies or friends.
Proverbs 24:17 - Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles.

Proverbs 17:5 - Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

Proverb 19: 29 - Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Ephesians 5:4 ESV - Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

So you could imagine how shocked I was when I read that a Christian, let alone a so called man of God could make fun of the unfortunate events that befell his fellow country men in the past. Below are some excerpts from the filth that this so called man of God recklessly spewed on his Sunday service

BEVERLY HILLS, October 02, (THEWILL) – The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Daddy GO, on Sunday revealed how the church bought its massive campground located along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for N6,000.

He further advised Nigerians against beating the drums of war, pointing out that the effects of war are detrimental. The cleric narrated the ordeal of an Igbo girl, whose resuscitation during the Civil War, took more than human efforts.

“During the civil, I was working in Ondo state, and so we were very close to Ore. And of course those of you who are old enough to remember, the toughest battle of the civil war was fought in Ore, and for months after the war was over, there were still skeletons scattered all over in the bush.

“After the war, we took in an Igbo girl; she was supposed to come and be a house help; but we spent three months nursing her back to health, because she was so weak, she couldn’t even carry a bottle of coke.
Does this sound like what a responsible man of God would preach to his members on a service day? if truly he adopted someone then it would be said he did it out of his good will and if that truly is the case, then what did the bible say about good deeds? see Matthew 6:1 -3 .

“After we nursed her back to health, physically, we had to nurse her back to mental health. We had to keep on reminding her that the war is over, but she would wake up at night shaking asking “where am I?” “Which side is the army coming from?”

“We had to spend time to tell her stop chasing lizards, because towards the end of the war, they were, according to her, no lizards left in the east, because they were used for food.

“Please, don’t talk about war. I don’t want war. I don’t want war in Nigeria,”
the RCCG Overseer said.
Does the man of God really have to make fun of the adopted girl's traumatic situation? Does the Man of God have to be so insensitive to the unfortunate event of starvation that led to the death of 3 million people during the Civil war? Has he truly not read the bible verses

Proverbs 24:17 , Proverbs 17:5 , Proverb 19: 29

Did he not read the part in the Bible when the starvation was so severe that people ate their own children? Does he not know about the fate of the Edomites and Amorites when they refused to help their starving Israeli brethren?

All these are sensitive issues and if no one in the bible thought it necessary to mock the people who went through such then how can a so called G.O say such things from the most holy place in the Church, which is the pulpit?

Also, does the man of God really need to use a trumpet to sing his own praise? does he really need to talk about the unfortunate events of others in such a demeaning manner? Aren't there other ways to speak in favour of peace and unity without the subtle mockery (a very poor subtlety if I may add ).

I would conclude with the following verses:

Matthew 24:24 NIV - For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Matthew 7:15-20 NIV -15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

John 14:15 New King James Version - “If you love Me, keep[a] My commandments.

Following intelligence reports, the Federal Government has located a slush account in Paris to which some Nigerians have made huge deposits in support of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

It has also uncovered how some IPOB members have invaded Nigerian embassies in Hong Kong and Spain and created some scenes in the last 72 hours.

The development, security sources said, was an indication of the desperation of IPOB and the justification for the proscription of the organisation.
But the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Denys Gauer on Friday met with the Minister of Information Lies and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Although the outcome of the meeting between the two leaders was kept under wraps, Gauer was said to have reassured the Federal Government that France would not support any terrorist group.

It was learnt that the French government promised to take action as soon as the IPOB’s slush account was known to it.

A top security source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Intelligence gathering has led to the discovery of an account in Paris into which some Nigerians in the Diaspora remit funds to support IPOB.

“From the said account, funds were being drawn for the activities of IPOB at home and abroad. The relevant security agencies did a thorough job and provided incontrovertible evidence on the basis of which the government proscribed the terrorist organisation.

“These Nigerians in the Diaspora are using France as a clearing house.
“Investigations also confirmed inflows into the account from Holland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore and other parts of Europe.
“In fact, a football tournament was recently organised in Senegal to raise funds for IPOB.
“As a matter of fact, the account is being used to get money from a lot of people in the Diaspora.

“What many Nigerians did not know is that the Minister of Information and Culture was talking on the basis of credible intelligence report.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “With cooperation by the international community, especially relevant countries, we will soon get the list of all the people remitting funds into the account in Paris.”

But the government was also concerned that IPOB members were becoming desperate after the clampdown on the terrorist group.

The source said: “IPOB members are becoming desperate in the last 72 hours. About two days ago, some members of the terrorist group breezed into our Embassy in Hong Kong under the pretence of renewing their passports but ended up staging a protest.

“The IPOB members also demonstrated at our embassy in Spain a few days ago.”
At press time, the details of the session between the French Ambassador and the Minister of Information and Culture were yet to be formally released.
But a source said: “The Ambassador actually told the minister that France would never condone the activities of any terrorist group, including IPOB.

“He recalled that France has always been at the receiving end of terrorists and so cannot under any circumstances back IPOB.

“He restated the determination of the French government to support any policy or initiative which will strengthen Nigeria’s unity.

“He actually made it known that his government will not back secessionist agitation in this country.”
On the account in Paris, the Ambassador was said to have told the minister that France was “not aware of the account, but Nigeria should make a formal report.”
The source said the minister also reiterated that he “never said that France was supporting IPOB, because there is a robust relationship between France and Nigeria.

“We can never accuse France of collaborating with terrorists, because it has been assisting us in tackling Boko Haram insurgency.

“France played a major role in setting up and managing the operation of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

Abagworo:
The truth remains that there can never be peaceful secession anywhere including US. A secession comes with price of millions of deaths and permanent crisis. Everybody knows this but those who lost election in 2015 want all of us to start killing each other because of bitterness of the loss and blockage of their free money.
Personally I detest the idea of secession but look around you in Nigeria, see the injustice, see how some take advantage of the filthy write up we call a constitution. I am all for restructuring but if the FG refuses to do that, then man's nature for survival and improvement would just have to kick in!

You are wrong man except you want to continue courting for more deaths from the Nigerian Army.
Referendum is alien to the Nigerian constituted law and unless it is amended it can not be achieved.
Yes bro, the word referendum can be used in regards to the amendment of the constitution. Personally I am not a pro Biafra or IPOB individual but my stance is this - The FG had better be wise and take up the call for restructuring, failure to do that would result in the call for a national referendum and while it might not be constitutional, the international law and UN charter supports the call for self determination, Nigeria being a part of the international community and a part of the UN would have no choice but to adhere to the laws, failure to do so could result in the freezing of Nigeria's assets, countless embargoes (mind you our primary source of income is through exporting crude, we can't risk an embargo), excommunication, charges of war crimes the list is endless. Lets not even go there, I would like to believe that there are at least one or two people who still reason with their brain in the government so hopefully reason would prevail and the FG would play the ONLY CARD THEY HAVE NOW which is to agree to a national dialogue on restructuring.

Throwback:
What is a national referendum?

It seems the IPOB idiocy has caught up with you. Stop shouting referendum like an illiterate who just learnt the word on radio Biafra.

Referendum is just a tool that can be used for determining an unlimited number of questions.

So I ask again, is the question you desire to be answered allowed by the constitution of the federal republic?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-determination

Kai proper aboki man, see stupidity being exhibited at its finest. The international law (read here : http://www.un.org/en/sections/un-charter/chapter-i/index.html) states that every people or nation are ENTITLED to self determination (something the parasites would tag as secession), the international law is supreme in all ramifications to that of the laws of nations / countries, Nigeria is part of the international community / UN. So unless Nigeria decides to stupidly pull out of the UN, then I am afraid Nigeria has to adhere to these laws, so the Nigerian constitution cannot over ride the international law of self determination

Lesson one : served!

Lesson two: Cooking, look below

Secondly, look up the word referendum - there isn't a single definition of referendum

A referendum (plural referendums, see below) is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is invited to vote on a [b]particular proposal. This may result in the adoption of a new law. In some countries, it is synonymous with a plebiscite or a vote on a ballot question.

Some definitions of 'plebiscite' suggest that it is a type of vote to change the constitution or government of a country.[1] However, some other countries define it differently. For example, Australia defines 'referendum' as a vote to change the constitution, and 'plebiscite' as a vote that does not affect the constitution.[2] In Ireland, the vote to adopt its constitution was called a "plebiscite", but a subsequent vote to amend the constitution is called a 'referendum', and so is a poll of the electorate on a non-constitutional bill.

In the Nigerian context, we can rightly say that referendum doesn't apply to constitutional amendment, why? because we use the term "constitutional amendment" in Nigeria whenever we want to amend the constitution! You and I both know what a referendum means in the Nigerian context, a referendum also means the same to the Catalans and numerous nations. Me and you no dey go ansarudden or almajiri school, Eagle and vulture no be the same lol. The proposal defines the referendum, In Nigeria we all know what the term "national referendum" stands for

Oya come and go and ask your Almajiri "intellectuals" for more propaganda fire power lol
