9icest: I dont understand why MASSOB cant be transformed into a political party. It seems these guys have a lot of members, and keep undermining their population. The earlier a better and more educated leader takes the helm of affairs of MASSOB, the better. And for crying out loud, if the Ibos want Biafra, this is the best time they can have it, Nigeria has never been more divided and in a fragile political state unlike now....And why are they attacking oneanother because I dont see anyone stopping them if they are really determined at this point....Im just thinking out loud.

Peacefullife: Bearing muslim names does not mean you are losing your identity to arabs. it means you are a proud muslim.

However, there are some names you will bear that are Haram in Islam. For instance, the name Ifatobi or Ogunshomi which promotes that other deities are supreme are completely Haram and muslims should not bear them.

Mind you, the Prophet (SAW) said the best of names are Abdul......

That's the slave mentality in Islam. Even the Muslims in places like Eastern Europe also answer Arabic names , Its a way of making the Arabs look superior to Muslims of other races .

If only the moderators could know put this thread here https://www.nairaland.com/1057232/case-study-p.aedophilia-incestuous-acts on the frontpage as well. Clearly Pe.dophilia is on the rise in a particular region in Nigeria

Recently crime sections of National Tabloids have been riddled with stories of molestation and paedophilia . Is this a clear indication of lack of moral values , family values or can this disgusting trend be traced to religious / tribal / cultural backgrounds of those involved in this heinous activity or has this been a hidden practice that is finally being exposed by our media houses and tabloids ? Below are certain instances of paedophilia and incestous stories gotten from stories published recently by Daily Tabloids .

A 54-year old generator repairer has been sent to jail for allegedly sleeping with his 16-year old daughter and impregnating her in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The man, Mr. Tajudeen Sanni, who hails from Oyo State was charged to the Family Court, Kakawa, Lagos, for impregnating his daughter and subsequently sent to Ikoyi Prison as he could not perfect his bail condition on time.
The 16-year old girl (name withheld) is now in custody of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation for adequate care.

The victim had accused her father of sleeping with her several times, resulting in her being pregnant.

If Mr Tiamiyu Ibrahim, a 45-year-old mechanic, had been part of the Nigerian contigent to the just concluded London 2012 Olympics, he, probably, would have won a medal for Nigeria. The only snag is that his field of specialisation, 'bedminton' was not part of the sporting activities listed for the tournament. IDOWU ADELUSI, in this piece, reports the story of a man who put his mother-in-law in a family way.

MRS Aminat Ibrahim's story appears fictitious, but it is not. The claim of the 40-year-old trader that her husband is the father of a four-month-old baby girl born by her mother leaves one wondering whether Aminat knows the weight of her claim or not.

Mrs Ibrahim said she was ashamed and rattled by the development, adding that her unrepentant mother had threatened to curse her for exposing her misdeed.
Narrating how love affair developed between her mother and the husband, Mrs Ibrahim said her mother, who lived in a village at Apomu Area of Osun State, had been visiting them regularly at Oje Area of Ibadan where they (couple) lived.

Today, Anthony Adeyemi is a shadow of himself. He lives in depression and pain as a result of partial paralysis that he suffers. But as if that was not enough a burden for him, he has compounded his trouble by allegedly involving himself in immorality. Rather than living his life as a respectable father, he chose a path of dishonour by defiling his stepdaughter.

On Sunday, October 17, while Christian worshippers were on their way to church, Adeyemi was busy scheming for the forbidden fruit that landed him in police custody. The 55-year-old man was caught making love with an 11-year-old girl in his shop.
5.Tackling r.ap.e and intimate abuse in Osun
Molestation has assumed a frightening dimension across the country in recent times, questioning the soundness of the human mind and its ability to cope with emerging challenges.

A study conducted by a group of lecturers from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, under the aegis of Women on Molestation, intimate harassment and intimate exploitation, came up with alarming results.

The study conducted in Oyo and Osun states in liasion with a non-governmental organisation showed that 80 per cent of girls, before attaining age 18, experience intimate violence and abuse while 31 per cent of girls experience intimate violence and abuse before age 13! shocked shocked

http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/332418/nigerians-charged-with-marriage-proposal-fraud

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has arrested two Nigerian men alleged to have defrauded about 20 million baht from scores of Thai women through a global marriage scam in which they pretended to be US marines.

The DSI said Benjamin Olakunle Owewole, 44, and Oladapo Awooyele, , had told their victims they were US marines deployed in Afghanistan and promised to marry them after they completed the early retirement process from military service.

They asked the victims to wire them money to help pay the discharge processing fees. One of the women eventually became suspicious and informed the authorities.

The Nigerian men were arrested with approximately 11 million baht in cash in their possession. The DSI reported that at least 400 women all over the world had fallen prey to the fraudsters and about 20 million baht had been scammed from the Thai victims.

According to DSI chief Tharit Pengdit, the suspects had approached their targets, usually single women aged 40 or older, many of them widowed or divorced, via online chatrooms and Facebook.

The alleged swindlers elaborated their stories by having accomplices play different roles, such as sick family members, superiors and subordinates calling the victims. The women were duped into wiring funds into accounts in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

The Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime, working with the police Crime Suppression and Technology Crime Suppression divisions arrested the two suspects at a shopping mall in Nonthaburi province.

At their hotel room in Bangkok investigators found US$370,000 in cash along with computers and cellphones used in the scam.

DSI investigators believe the gang is running their operation in several countries, including Sweden, Malaysia and Singapore, to make it difficult for authorities to gather evidence against them.

coogar: i just threw a name in there - i don't really care where the ejiros hail from but only a lunatic would deny there's no tribalism in nollywood. the yoruba stars have complained times without number that they don't get the big roles in nollywood because it's an igbocentric industry. far majority of the funds come from igbo stakeholders so you get your facts right instead of chasing after cheap pedantry!

you are a tool!
tunde kelani makes a movie once in 2-3 yrs......if yoruba actors depend on that then they would become scavengers feeding on scraps on a refuse dump. fact is - the far majority of the so called nollywood movies are funded by the igbos. unless you have been living under a rock, this information is not far fetched!

eniola badmus(aka gbogbo big girls)

actually, I didn't abandon English home video completely, I still do TV series in English. I have about two of such soaps running on some television channels now. Though, there was a time I almost left but I didn't abandon the genre completely. I noticed that there was a lot of tribalism there. About two or three producers actually approached me to consider adopting an Igbo name which I rejected. I told them I would not sell my birth right. More so, my parents won't be happy with me.

I'm from a very good home. So I told them that if they couldn't accept me for what I am, I would rather go to where I'll be accepted better and that was why I crossed over to the Yoruba sector. But now, I still do TV series. But there's a project in the pipeline now that has to do with the English sector. They've been calling me back now.
Eniola Badmus ?? Never heard of him. I guess he's one of those " 20K per film" type of actors right ? grin grin grin
