what is the payment proces like for this your sevis payment. what is the rate for your charge in naira??

Anyone who is doing that is just there to impersonate me because they wanted to cause wahala and whoever didn’t get or exchange nairaland email message from me first before we talk on phone or chat should take note that’s not real Walspring.

Guys an i20 with 49k usd as estimate. What do you guys think? Is it a lot. Please note I have no funding. I am wondering who has had any success presenting such an expensive i20 to the embassy?

I really don't want the embassy thinking its too expensive. I am seeing people here who have i20 of 20 something and early 30 something k dollars.

But this is a really good school I would like to go to.

Guys I cannot find my old passport that expired in 2018. I have a new one though that I have used to visit uk, sa and kenya which I got in 2018 as well. In filling the DS 160 I was asked if I have a missing passport I said yes. It this a red flag. How can I handle this? Anyone been in this situation before

Firstly, you have to decide whose bank account statement you want to use for the whole process, it is a red flag to use an account for collecting the I-20 and using another account for the Visa interview,it is a discrepancy, how do you plan on defending this? What do you plan on telling the VO on what happened why the person decided not to sponsor you again or why you decided to change your sponsor? Note: The VO's are looking for inconsistencies,pls try not to put yourself in that situation. Except if you have a very convincing reason for the change which still depends on how the VO perceives it. Best advice is be totally sure on the account you want to use before collecting the I-20.

Also, from what i've gathered here, it seems using an American bank account statement has two sides to it. Depending on the kind of VO you get, it might be a sign that might constitute 'lack of home ties' , meaning that you can decide to stay back after studies because you have adequate sponsorship for your welfare beyond your studies, this is not a good sign for F1, but another VO might feel that you have a good source of money to take care of your studies and grant you the Visa but my personal opinion is 'why risk it?'

What figures can be coming in. and how much do you think can be paid in small small. the target is 43k usd which is like 15m up. Guys. Please can I use my cousin or aunty's in america bank statement to get my i20? While I and my sisters work on building the ones we plan to use for the interview.

The i20 just has self or sponsors as means of funding. Also can that my cousin aslo be used as sponsors in the visa interview.

My cousin in american and works in nigeria. Her job is in the us and still gets paid there.\

What I am trying to say is using my cousin now for i20 and possibly using my sisters for visa. Is that any red flag?

I am currently self employed and will be sponsored by my elder sister (unmarried) and cosponsored by my younger sis (unmarried) and Mother (civil servant) who both work here in nigeria. The program I am going for is geology totally unrelated to what my business does (Steel construction services - things are tough and man gotta bounce). I am planning ahead and I really want to know what you guys think.

The masters I am going for is related to my 1st degree (2012 graduate) and I have admission already in the US. But it is unrelated to my business which is steel construction services(it was lucrative back then).
I see questions like what have you been doing since graduation and I need to know how to make moves on that. I was working for a while but quit 2 years years ago and started my company in 2017.

Also what if I am asked why i am leaving my company to go for masters, is it not a red flag? So I am thinking of using a friends company to pay myself salary monthly. till my application in maybe june. So I can say I have been working in so so and so company etc

I would like to know if, even if i am saying i am being sponsored by my family will i need to present my own bank statement etc. would they ask for mine?

Good thing you're making plans. I'd advice you edit those figures to prevent receipt of unsolicited PMs.

You wanna go to grad school to study a course that's totally unrelated to what you studied in your undergraduate nor your work experience? Except you can STRONGLY defend the switch, it can't fly.

I would assume your sister account statement is sufficient to cater for your fees but you should be able to provide reasons as to why your sister is sponsoring you to grad school. There's no need to build your account if you are not the one paying and can't defend the source of income.

To be frank, if you're just starting application for fall 2019, it's a bit late though but you can still shoot for it if you're not totally particular about funding. Spring 2020 is just around the corner and you could put that into consideration.

Guys I had a 287 in my GRE. V 141 and Q 146. I would like to apply for an MS in Geophysics. What schools would likely accept me with these scores?

My last GRE was 285 V145 and Q140.

I had a 4.23/5.0 CGPA.

Also the car prices in SA are so high when you convert it. I was even thinking of shipping my car and turning it to left hand, but I know thats ridiculous. my car is sold double the price in SA on gumtree and olx.

Hello Guys. Got admitted to study at the University of Witwatersrand for an honours program. Who knows anyone at the uni or who is currently there? I am hoping to start my study visa application in January. What do you guys think about the Job prospects after school especially in Mining and Possible Oil and Gas. GRE was not required, however, low GPA was cited as the reason behind the rejection. His undergraduate GPA is above the required figure. However, his MSc is below the required figure. He actually used his MSc as a suport which eventually turned otherwise; since his undergraduate GPA qualifies him for direct PhD admission.

Rewrote yesterday, But sadly I got 287 - Q 146 and V 141. Previous score 285 - Q 140 and V 145 and my toefl was 87. I am mentally drained and I am not writing again. I will have to raise money to pay the fees, I just have to work hard. CGPA 4.23/5.0. I am looking to study Geophysics. Please what are my chances. I sent my latest 287 scores to; texas a & m kingsville, Michigan Tech, Colorado state Uni, UT Dallas and I sent my first 285 scores I sent it to; Texas a & m Kingsville, Texas El Paso, Uni of Utah, Uni of Tulsa.

Guys after scoring poorly in my last exam I have decided to rewrite the gre again on the 11th. Please any tips, tricks etc in answering questions faster. My issue was time in the last one. And at the tail end I was just guessing to fill up the answer slots. For my verbal I answer my comprehensions first then go back to the beginning to continue from there for those vocab questions and it gave me time to finish. But my quants is an issue I think I was too slow to be honest this was the one that had me ticking boxes in the end.

Guys with my 285 which was Q 140 and V 145 and 4.0 in Analytics and 4.23 CGPA from uni. I sent my scores to these schools on test day last week which are Uni of Tulsa, Uni of Utah, Texas Elpaso, Texas A and M Kingsville. Do you guys think I stand a chance? I'm going for course based masters and not seeking funding from the uni. I have been out of school a while and I dont think I want to do research. Opinions please.

Depends on the other aspects of your profile. GPA..etc. How good are they?

My gpa was 4.25/5.0. I dont really test well in all the preps. Even in the 2 preps I did that was my range. I got about 293 highest. And I really dont have time. My toefl is coming up in december. I will try and squeeze in time for another gre this month.

that 285 has always been my range including the prep tests. I have not hit 300 at all. I have been out of school for a close to years now.
