Lucifer66:Do you know the meaning of classic cars? I bet if you see a classic Ferrari, you won't even know. |
Independence day is not October 1st Independence day is the day you get your papers to leave this country. That's your Independence day. |
This past week, Ambode shared money to wards and CDAs in Lagos. The one opposite my house collected money and campaign materials from Ambode and fought all through last week over sharing the money. Just this evening, I came out and discovered that those who collected millions from Ambode less than 5 days ago have put Sanwo-olu's banner there tonight. |
dbos11:Stingy guy. As cheap as bleep is, you can't even give one. ![]() Na wa for you o! |
I'm an APC supporter and I've never met Edgal Imohimi or care about Ambode either but the truth must be said. Edgal as the CP Lagos has performed creditably well. Under him, we no longer have cases of schoolchildren being kidnapped as happened twice in Epe and once in Isheri. Also, I wouldn't forget that Edgal Imohimi personally led the raid that finished off the Badoo cult group in Lagos. Let's not forget that Evans was captured under his leadership. Edgal is not perfect, but professionally, he's a top-notch officer. Let's not use politics to diminish his impeccable professional record. |
UK is not a place to go hustle. There's a lot of protectionism coming into play caused by Brexit. Besides, I doubt if you have the required skills to land well paying opportunities in the UK. Get a better destination and forget about the UK. |
In the North, there are well matured ladies still in secondary schools. The Corper may even be age mates with the student. However, as a teacher, there's a responsibility placed on you not to engage in amorous relationships with your students. If you know you love her, wait for her to graduate before engaging in a relationship with her. |
Sometime ago, a clearing agent boasted here on Nairaland that he helps people bring vehicles in from Cotonou and register them at the Tincan Ports in Lagos despite the fact that land borders have been closed by the Nigerian Customs to vehicle importation. When we asked him how he'll do it, he said he has his way of doing it. That day, I made this comment below: MrMcJay:Just yesterday, a Nairalander opened the thread below: https://www.nairaland.com/4737275/muscle-camry-almost-got-impounded What made me open this thread was an incident that happened to a friend a few weeks ago. He bought a Tokunbo Venza from an auto dealer here in Nigeria. Before buying, he conducted due-diligence at the customs desk and it checked out. After using it for about a year, he resold it to another buyer. The second buyer also conducted due-diligence at the customs desk and it also checked out. While on Badagry Road, customs officers stopped him and after inspecting his papers, they impounded the vehicle. The buyer was confident to take on them because he had Customs Papers which checked out as at when he bought. When he got to the office, the Customs guys explained what happened. 1. The agent who cleared the vehicle attached the details of the vehicle to a Container coming into Nigeria as if the vehicle was part of the cargo into Nigeria. 2. The Origin of the container was China and it was carrying industrial parts. 3. The dealership that sold the vehicle was in Texas, America. 4. They traced the details of the vehicle and discovered that it sailed from Houston to Porto Novo in Republic of Benin. 5. Last recorded Port was in Benin Republic before it miraculously appeared in a container coming from China to be cleared in Lagos. 6. There is no legal way that vehicle could have gotten to Nigeria from Cotonou. 7. In Lagos Port, the agent underpaid the value of the car but somehow got the customs papers. The reason for this epistle is to provide information to prevent innocent Nairalanders from falling into this crime perpetrated by fraudulent agents and their allies. 1. Is there a way an innocent buyer can avoid falling into this problem? 2. Is there a particular Customs office buyers can go to physically verify that not only were the proper duties paid, but correct information given? 3. If you pay and customs officers collude with unscrupulous agents to defraud Nigerians, is there an official mechanism to get redress for the innocent buyer? 4. Is there an avenue for innocent buyers to pay unpaid customs fees over sized vehicles and ensure they are released? 5. For vehicles bought brand new in Nigeria and receipts issued by dealers, is there a way to verify duties were paid on those vehicles? This is a kind of self-help thread since there's hardly information on these anywhere and the customs guys don't care. Cosplay:Cosplay, I'll create a topic and mention you. I have a live case over this matter at hand. |
Congrats to him |
You made some valid points but rubbished it by saying you we should buy Toyotas. Is there any valid technical scientific or empirical reason why I should choose a Toyota over a Benz for instance? |
mogreen22:You've obviously never owned a new model Benz. You'll hear sound and be turning around, looking for who is beating drums behind you. OP, the best sound I ever ever came across was a 2017 Range Autobiography LWB. Obviously not in your budget. |
sultaan:Any staff of ANY bank in Nigeria who gives extends a single kobo facility to Innoson would be fired within 6 business hours. His reputation is in tatters in financial circles and that alone is capable of killing his business. Of what use is a businessman who is not creditworthy? |
The boys that usually rig elections for Saraki and his puppet are presently in Police custody for the Offa robbery. The incentives to woo politicians to work in favour of Saraki are now in the hands of APC. The Federal power usually used by Saraki to manipulate elections are now in the hands of his opponents. 2019 would be interesting in Kwara, I won't say more than that. |
Which legal skills? It's like a mechanical engineer asking promising you that he would help you wire your house if you give him your daughter. Engineer na engineer but specialities dey. Even if he's an SAN, what's his track record in election petition? |
They would solve this crisis in a jiffy. We're in politics season when they are trying to impress voters, they won't want fuel scarcity to dent their chances. |
This is what Nairaland has been reduced to? ![]() |
Those who make noise about their relationships are trying to cover up underlying problems. Toto Decay made more noise than a colonial-era train when she was married to Churchill. Today, they're apart. This one turned himself to Clarence Peters shooting pre-wedding pictures and posting videos online like Woli Arole. When his wife's uncle hammered him, he couldn't put it online o. Good engine doesn't make unnecessary noise, when it starts making noise, it wants to knock. When you have something precious, you shut up your mouth and protect it be it money, gold, documents or bae. I wish you a happy married life and most of all, I wish you commonsense required of adults. |
The lesson is that whatever you are doing, do it well. If you want to be a prostitute, do it well. |
OP is suffering from messianic complex. If you want to help someone, see those elderly women and kinds selling stuff by the roadside? Those are the people who need help. I consult for an NGO and I've seen firsthand what poverty does to people and how little sums of money can help people. If you genuinely need to help people, there are plenty trades you can set up with 20k and they'll make a living from there. You see that girl, even if a foreign NGO comes and pays her dollars to leave that job, she won't leave if she doesn't want to. |
Tetragramaton:Ofunneka was controversial that year. Even the Senate had to step in. The difference between Ofunneka and Nina is that Ofunneka was seen as a victim of Richard's nonsense, Nina is seen as a victim of her own foolishness. Karma served Nina hot under a year. Karma came running. |
dannyzakks:The OP registered in 2006, you registered in 2016 and you're accusing him of being a scammer? Say something else. |
Nina is finished. What is remaining for her is empty carcass. No added value or intelligence to display. She's gonna end up like Ofunneka who did the same nonsense she did. Anywhere she goes, she's gonna be the dumb hoe who got dumped. She's a living definition of Karma. RIP to her reputation. |
The church in itself is Nigeria's socio-economic problem. I have more than 23 churches in my street and I have heard different kinds of funny doctrines. Some balanced, some extreme and some outrightly foolish. Instead of encouraging dignity of labour, we claim to 'tap' into other people's blessings. Instead of encouraging honest and righteous labour, we endorse criminality and dishonesty and call it unmerited favour. I remember when Mr. Lawrence Agada of Christ Embassy stole money from Sheraton hotel and donated it to Christ's embassy, he was written a commendation letter personally signed by Mr. Chris Oyakhilome. Go to Oregun Industrial Estate in Ikeja and see how churches have turned the factories into churches. They're saying it's spiritual revival but spiritual revival doesn't add to a nation's gdp, it only increases the pastor's networth. It doesn't provide work for unemployed members, doesn't do anything for broke members. I think the brand of Christianity practiced in Nigeria is not what is in the Bible as commanded of us and we must tell ourselves the truth that it's doing more harm than good. |
TEODIN:That's big trouble for Wike o. The way things are going, Abe and Amaechi would settle and it would be serious problems for Wike. As for Delta, if Ibori decamps, the only way Okowa can survive it is for him to decamp also. Cos with the nonsense Okowa has been doing in Delta, he should forget reelection. |
TEODIN:Lol Can PDP also bring someone from Kalabari? Where is Wike from? |
9 years ago, I was at a private event and Tonye Cole was there. He said he decided to stay out of politics because it usually brings bad blood among long-standing friends which he didn't need. According to him, he usually settles disputes for his friends who are politicians. At this point, I guess he's not seeking political office, political office seeks the gentleman. He's a thoroughly refined gentleman and very fit for the office. |
If you go to the police station to report, you would be like No. 18 corolla complainant in that week alone. |
Firefire:This guy, stop disgracing yourself na. Even your Daddies in PDP approve of Osinbajo. If you're doing like this before election, what would you do when PDP loses in 2019? |
remi1444:You can't compare Benz to Bajaj. Xiaomi is one of the top 3 brands in China, outselling Iphone and Samsung in some years. In that same China, if you dare sell infinix, they can behead you for selling inferior products. Infinix, Tecno and that calculator called iTel only sell in countries with high level of poverty, ignorance and weak consumer protection by regulators. |
Since Mr. Sulaiman was exposed by Stephanie Otobo and the discovery that he bought a duplex and house for a private prostitute, his credibility has deserted him. His comments these days has shown us his fruits which definitely are not of Christ. |
