The market has the setting of Ogbete or any other open market you know in Nigeria. It opens by 9am and closes in 12pm.

The open market in my opinion is for international residents. I saw few French people there but majority of buyers are Indians, Africans, etc. I saw some funny fishes yesterday

We were told that there's usually an open market in Nantes, where you can buy things are cheaper rate ![]() Yesterday, we decided to check it out. We met few Nigerians shaa but didn't identify ourselves as one. The reason is: About 2 weeks ago we went to one African shop. After selecting the things we needed, one guy there asked us one funny question: "Have you guys started processing your papers" It was strange to us. Obviously, I didn't know what that means as we were not told of any additional papers to process in France. So we told him that we don't understand. He then asked the second funny question, followed immediately by the third most funny question: "When una enter?", "how una take enter, no be water" At that point, we quickly remembered the advice we were given by a PTDF Ph.D student in Nantes. He told us not to easily identify ourselves as a Nigeria because majority of Nigerians here who are not students are here illegally. "Na plane una follow come?", we answered yes, the guy was surprised. He then requested for our number and our address. We told him that we are still new and do not have any phone ![]() See some images on our way to the market

Random pictures on my way to the bank

izzou:Within the city, there's no train. The speed train has it's own station, from there you can go to Paris, airport, or other part of France. Outside the train station, you can use the tram, bus, or car. The tram is same as the train but with lower number of coaches. It is important to state that the tram is powered by electricity and that 75% of France electricity comes from Nuclear energy and we have been sent to benefit from France expertise in nuclear energy with the hope of helping Nigeria start their first nuclear power plant in 2025. Na true self, I never see trailer or tankers for here. I go shine my eyes ![]() |
I was on my way to the bank yesterday to collect my bank card. I met this boy in the bus with this big novel. I was like: see this small boy ooo. It was inspiring knowing seeing the boy with his novel at such a young age. Update I got the best banking services in my life yesterday. O boy, my account officer took time, explained everything to me, took me to the ATM, showed me how to make cash deposit at the ATM. He gave me 15 euros and told me it will be deducted by my mobile service providers (he doesn't want my money to be removed yet). Then he promised to send 50 euros gift card in a week time.

The Tram line
|
@izzou regarding your question about the traffic light. Picture one is an image of a Tram crossing a junction used by both the bus, car, and other road users (power bike, etc). There's traffic everywhere but they only work when the Tram is crossing. The tram driver will engage the traffic that will then turn other red(stop) traffic lights on. When the tram is crossing, it doesn't respect even the Zibra crossing. Everyone must wait for the few seconds

As I no go church today, I will update this thread this morning before my day get busy |
End time generation. |
rs172:It's a world of opportunities however, those Pakistanis and Indians has messed the web designing section. Services in the web design section are very cheap because of the presence of those guys. You can try it. However, I would recommend interior design (content interior design) using Adobe Indesign. I know one Nigerian that I met in Abuja who make atleast $4k/month offering that service on Fiverr. The guy is a big guy |
rs172:Nothing bro. You won't make a dime. There are many sophisticated apps that can do such translations |

ashatoda:Lol, when I was in Nigeria, I worked with a company that is much closer to the government. We render some services that influence the common man and that also affect the ease of doing business in Nigeria. Also go to state governments and meet the top people across the country. I discovered that most of these people against the public knowledge meant well for the country. But the people (people like me and you) who also complain about them and those that work in ministries, offices, and agencies are the ones that is messing everyone up. We must come to the solemn realization that we are our problem. One day, we will solve the leadership problem and spend the next 100 years solving the people problem. It's deeper than this and I may not want to bring any touch of politics into this thread. I hope you are enjoying the thread sir? |
onemanarmy:Bro this is not Paris ooo. Paris is so beautiful that the French people say "See Paris and Die." They mean that once you have seen Paris, then you apparently have nothing else to live for (for their mind). Everyone contributed to the development of any developed country. The people, the leaders, and their system. For Nigeria, we are moving but very slow, and then all Nigerians are working towards the downfall of the country. Our leaders, our people, and our system, everything is pulling us full circle backwards. |
izzou:Hehehehe, surely, you are not an ordinary human. How knoweth thou you that I needeth the holy water? My village people failed the moment they couldn't bring our plane down. In fact, few days to my departure date, I became terribly sick. I was in the hospital up till 12pm the day I was to leave Abuja. Took 4 injections same day and almost missed the flight that later didn't fly. I am God's testimony and I welcome the holy water. Regarding the traffic lines. I thought so too but realized that in the major road, I mean the one that both the bus, tram, and cars use, there's traffic only for the tram. The tram controls the traffic. If the tram gets to a junction that the bus and cars ply, the driver will pull the stop button. Save that, everyone respects the right of road without a traffic. I have been studying how they use their roads too because it is confusing. |
Joohan:Yes I am brother. Thank you so much. Hope you are enjoying the thread |
