The castle of the Dukes of Brittany is a defensive castle and pleasure located in Nantes (Wiki). It was built since 1840. Founded by the Dukes of Brittany in the xiii th century to build a defensive base in Nantes, the castle became, under Francis II , the main Breton ducal residence. Its military function is also used by the Duke during the Crazy War in which he opposes the King of France . His daughter, the Duchess Anne , was later forced to marry two successive kings of France, Charles VIII and Louis XII . These marriages entail the union of Brittany with France , definitively sealed by an edict signed with the castle in 1532 , by François. (Wiki) For more info (consult google) This Castle is now a tourist centre where tourists pay 10 euro to have access to the main arena (which is underground). For us students, we only saw the free sections. So let's go. Pics 1. Welcome to the castle Pics 2. Door opens.

Beautyaddy:No it's not. The one that got burnt is Notre Dame in Paris. However, this same cathedral once had some fire incidence in the 20th century. |
I bet you can't guess the next place. Let me save you the stress. Welcome and let's discover Le Chateau of Nantes
|
And that is it for the interior part of the cathedral. Don't get tired.
|
Inside one church. Another tomb
|
It's amazing
|
This is the alter. I am sure the statue of Mary and the rest were made with gold. It's amazing to be inside this cathedral
|
There is a tomb inside. It's the tomb of Francois II. He was buried right there inside the cathedral more than 100 years ago

My phone camera failed me but I won't blame it because, it is so gigantic to capture once
|
Every tourist in Nantes must come to this cathedral. It is so beautiful that on week days, the church is open and some seats packed to one side to allow people have access to the entire building. My phone camera became inefficient in that it did not capture in details the designs on the walls of this building. So I went closer

Brief history to spice up the display and help you appreciate what you are about to see or what you already saw. The construction of the Cathedral began in 1434. The cathedral was completed in 1891, taking about 457 years to build. The cathedral's foundation stone was laid on 14 April 1434, by John V, Duke of Brittany (Wiki). The building process is divided into 5 phases. For more info, please consult google. Immediately I stepped into this cathedral and brought out my phone to take pictures, I became moody. I wished all of us are here to take a look at this wonderful building. I wished we were all here live to appreciate the output of hardwork. Every part of the building was littered with designs and arms of art that no camera can capture. Ladies and gentlement, please behold

Do you remember here? It was our next bust stop. We had some questions to answer. So let me take you in
|
Our first stop is a market, a popular market called Talensac. We were told to go engage the sellers with the what we have been taught in French. Everyone was given a book to fill in their answers. So you can't escape it

So these are the random pictures I took this morning.
|
I experienced a hitch trying to upload pictures here. Before, I pass the pictures through whatsapp before uploading it here. I noticed that the picture qualities were reduced by whatsapp, so I decided to upload directly. Each picture is about 5MB but nairaland can't take such size of images. Leaving me with no option than to go through my normal process which is stressful. ![]()

This morning, we were asked to RDV at Place du Cique. It's a bus/tram stop. As a good boy I got there on time and took some random pictures. So let's go

Hi guys, I am back again with lots of pictures to sprinkle on this thread. It was quite a busy day. This is the last week of our 2 weeks intensive French class. It's been very intensive to be honest, but until this moment, je ne comprend pas francais et je ne parle pas francais . Anyway, today, we went to different places, asked questions and did some tourism. So welcome to tonight's display and I hope you enjoy it. @izzou

Tonight is going to be "pictorious" Anyone up for it tonight? Tip: we finally entered inside the cathedral and it's amazing. |

MikoB:Oh great. I don't wish to see them though |
Asquare84:Okay |
Asquare84:No, the application requirements does not include those with HND |
UtilityRational:O boy I still carry my hair until I find another place. ![]() |
davide470:Merci beaucoup Monsieur. Wishing you the best. When is your classes starting and which part of France is your school? |
hammed71:Alright bro. Wish you well in your application and visa process bro. I don't know the process for ordinary students, I only know you must go through Campus France as a student applicant. |
davide470:Thanks brother. I usually identify myself as one, infact every Friday, I dress with my native attire to school and I get a lot of questions and compliments. We didn't identify ourselves because we are still new, less than a month and due to our experience with the other guy. We need to understand ourselves, environment, and neighbourhood first. Nice forum and merci. |
When you are there, you will feel like you are in 9ja. Got few fruits and left Happy Sunday guys.

Well, I think things are relatively cheap. When I left the market, I entered into one Saloon to cut my hair and spoke the little French I know. I asked the lady: "combine ca coute" (how much does it cost), she replied, vingt-six euros. I heard it but did my ear as if I dey train pig. Asked her again to be clear, she replied vingt-six euros (26 euros), I did multiplication by 400 and it gave me N10400. I remembered its Emmanuel Macron that is the president and left the shop.
