gaeul: Even you get an admission into another College before you travel to Canada , you will need to apply for another Study permit with a new Letter of acceptance. If the program also starts in September 2022 I would advice you defer till that time and get another letter of acceptance all you just need to do is inform IRCC of your new start date. |

Filanodivine: Total cost for the 2yrs would amount to $36,000CAD Housing and living for 2yrs will be $20,000CAD Other cost like flight ticket would be approximately $1,000 (just an estimate) could be more or less. So all together we have $57,000CAD. So to be safe you should have a total of at least between $57,000 to $60,000 for the duration of your program. Yes your in law can be your sponsor but to be able to convince the consular officer that he will be supporting you financially it's better if he transferred the money to your account as a gift and provide documents or you opening a GIC account with a financial institution in Canada by depositing the money there. Lastly you need to convince the consular officer that, . You have strong ties back home. . That that the total money to be spent on your studies would be available for the duration of study. . The program of study would lead to academic progression or job advancement (if working already) Lastly don't forget about writing a strong ,well detailed and convincing LOE to address all the points stated above even after providing documents . If u clear all this hurdles you have a good chance. Goodluck . 1 Like |

Nelson2k: Why do you think swearing an affidavit that you would return would help convince the VO that you will return after your studies? There is no law stopping you from applying for a Canadian study permit outside your country of citizenship, it's just that you stand a better chance of getting the visa from there if you are a permanent resident of that country . You have to know that overstaying in canada after your Visa expires or studies end is not a criminal offence , so the worst that can happen to you is deportation and ban from the country . So eventhough you decide to swear an affidavit to return to your country after your study ends and you end up not returning but instead applied for PGWP and then PR later do u now expect them to reject your application because you swore an affidavit in the past? . I would advice that you address any issue concerning home ties by drafting a good SOP that can convince the consular officer that you intend to return home by also including ties if any. Lastly I read sometimes early this week on this forum of a Nigerian applicant that applied from the UAE and got his application approved. Just do your best and hope for the best. Good luck 3 Likes |

thisdeltagirl: Cost for the 2 yrs program $27,000 CAD Money for your feeding and accommodation for 2 years would be $20,000CAD if school is outside the Quebec province, but if it is in Quebec you will need $22,000CAD for the 2years. Together with all this add the cost of your flight ticket to Canada. So if we add all the cost above assuming your school is outside Quebec it would amount to; $27,000 + $20,000 + $1,000 (flight ticket)= $48,000CAD so you will need to show at least about $48,000 to $50,000 as proof of fund ,but mind you the more the better. Even after showing all these you will need to provide documents showing how the money came about and also convince the consular officer that the money would be available to you throughout your study. You will also need to convince the office why you want to study your program of choice and lastly your home ties. If you can clear all this hurdles you have got a chance. Good luck. |

Your program of study Lenght of study Tuition fee of the program (per year) How long will the program take to conclude ( in years) The province where the school is located. Anifowoshehabee: To answer your question I need you to understand that a study permit is issued to you for the purpose of study and not to work , hence it isn't a work permit. You are only allowed to engage in part time work in Canada with your study permit after you have started classes . So if you arrive in Canada and after collecting your study permit you contact your college and defer your program for any reason best known to you, the law made it clear that you must inform IRCC , secondly your school can only defer your admission if you are inside Canada if your reason for deferring fall under certain conditions set out by IRCC. Conditions such as; . You fell seriously sick when you arrived. . You lost a very close family member . . Pregnancy if you are a female. . Due to closure of your school because of strike. . Or if the school shifted the start date. And it shouldn't last for more than 150 days before you start studies again and it is important to note that you are not allowed to work during this time. But if you intend to defer your study for more than 150days you would be required to leave Canada and wait for more than 6 months after you left Canada to be able to apply for a new study permit with a new LOA for you to start your studies again. So you see in both cases you still won't be able to make a dime and rather you will only spend money and waste your time. So your friend over there telling you he did it isn't being sincere with you and only wants you to involve yourself into some kind of illegality that will only land you into serious problems at the end. Below is a link that explains everything. Good luck. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare-arrival/study-permit-conditions.html 2 Likes |

Bukicious: Ok your own case is quite different. Someone I know who was invited for interview just like you was told to come along with a copy of the letter and his passport. During the interview he was only asked questions related to what he wrote in his SOP and after the interview he was told to go and that he would be informed of the outcome . But after about a week his visa was approved and he was told to send his passport . N.B He completed and submitted his study permit application by himself. 1 Like |

Onethe: Yes the Fanshawe college is a DLI and you are qualified to apply for a PGWP after graduation. Just make sure the program of study takes a minimum of 8 months to complete because any program that takes less than 8 months to complete won't qualify you for a PGWP. Good luck |

Jbrighto:I answered a similar question 2 days back or so. Generally speaking you are allowed to change program of study and it doesn't have to be in the same school or change school in one province to a school in another province . But make sure your new school is also a designated learning institution (DLI). The law made it clear that if you change school before travelling to Canada after getting your study permit approved ; you need to inform IRCC and apply for a new study permit using the new LOA from the new school. But if your plan is to change program or school when you get to Canada then to be on a safe side it's better to attend the old school for some weeks at least, withdraw from the program then switch to your new school . In this second case you still need to alert IRCC via their portal. 1 Like 1 Share |
