Jbrighto:That was because of the letter you shared with your post . The word eTA which simply means electronic travelling authorisation that is usually applied for by citizens of countries that don't require a visa to visit Canada for short stays. I only just assumed even though I wasn't able to read the whole letter to get a clearer picture . |
Jbrighto:Seems to me that you applied for study permit with either a passport from an EU country , UK or USA. Colleges with low tuition fees can be found in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. You can check out New Brunswick community college (NBCC) Holland college College of the north atlantic |
Baabu320:Yes that's a 2 year program. Each year comprises of 2 semesters (2 terms). So the 2 year program will give u a total of 4 semester or term as you may want to call it. |
19CannyMum:. You may be allowed to work full time for up to 150days before the second program starts if you meet certain conditions. blessingflow:Honestly Blessingflow I just hope and pray that things works out well for you. This is because you have been expecting a decision on your application for study permit for a long time now and then all this issue is coming up. Withholding information when filling the application for Canada study permit either knowingly or unknowingly might end up being termed as misrepresentation and in such a case you might be tagged as inadmissible into Canada . Just as some ppl suggested here on this platform you can decided to send a letter of explanation through webform to see if it might help or not. Below is a link that explains further what an applicant for a visa application risk if he or she withholds information . https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons.html Wish you all the best. |
Novenia:It's a college in Vaughan ,Ontario Canada. It is a designated learning institution but any international student who studied and graduated from there isn't eligible to apply for a Post graduation work permit (PGWP). So if your main aim is to study in Canada and then after graduation , apply for PGWP then I advice that you forget about that College immediately so as not to lament later. Good luck. |
blessingflow:As regards to sharing of information between UK and Canada . Yes they do share information regarding travellers seeking visa . USA ,UK,CANADA, REP. OF IRELAND, AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND do share information. Secondly when you applied for UK visa and got banned did you do Biometrics? If the answer is yes there is a very high probability that the Canadian embassy will find out concerning the ban even if you end up changing your names or passport. I wish you good luck though. |
Teemenzo:A PGWP is an open work permit and as a result you don't need an LMIA when applying for jobs. Yes you can get a PR with one year PGWP but you stand a better chance through the PNP route to PR and it all depends on the province you are applying through. If you want to apply via a federal program then you will need to apply via Canadian experience class and in this case you must be lucky enough to have gotten a Job immediately after you applied for PGWP, this is because when applying for PR via the canadian experience class you need one year of canadian work experience and a job offer too. Saskatchewan pnp usually require 6months of work experience for those that graduated from their province and have a job offer. You can also check the Atlantic provinces ( new Brunswick, nova Scotia, prince Edward island, Newfoundland and labrador) if you study a year program in a dli . You can apply for PR via the pnp of the province if you have a job offer and and meet other requirements. They tend to favour people who studied in their province. You can check them out. |
canforum65:You can carry but you need to declare it to the customs. Read all you need to know by clicking on the link below. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/ttd-vdd-eng.html |
Adunnee:Since you are on a visitor Visa . You will need to leave Canada and re-enter if the application is approved. Use the address of your home in Nigeria or country of residence. Click on the link below to read for yourself. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/making-application.html https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-215.html |
Jxool:Request for GCMS notes to find out the real reason they were denied the visit visa . If you can address those reasons then reapply. |
Lydylonge:Click on the link below to see the procedure you need to follow when travelling to Canada. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/arrivecan.html |
Ziico24:Did you get an email from IRCC after submission of the application? |
Deronke1:This is what came out after searching through google. https://jobreaders.org/universities-in-canada-without-application-fee/ |
Malone122:Let's look at it this way. If you get a new loa while still in Nigeria and withdraw your acceptance from the old school you use in getting the study permit approval then by law you need to inform IRCC that you have changed school , and you need to do this before travelling and you would need to submit a new application for study permit while still in Nigeria. So to change while inside Canada it means that you must have gotten your study permit from the immigration at the port of entry in Canada using the Visa obtained with the LOA from school A( old school) . After getting your study permit you can attend your school for a week and then decide to switch to a new school using the link I sent you and in this case you wont be needing a new study permit. You just have to inform ircc using that link. So basically u still have to be a student in school A when you land in Canada. After you collect your study permit. Then change. I know a lot of school will refund part of your tuition if you study for a week and then withdraw. It is safer to attend the old school for at least some days before you change . This is because if you change immediately you land without attending the old school you might get your study permit revoked and ordered to leave . So it's better to play safe. It's even safer if you attend the whole semester and in that case you can transfer your course unit to the new school if you are doing the same program . |
Semtu:Here is the link on how to do it. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/after-apply-next-steps.html |
Lezy:They still do. It's just that the new portal is designed in a way that submission of application is easier and faster. A friend submitted a study permit application in January of 2022 and got a decision exactly 2weeks later. |
Malone122:. You don't have to attend for the whole semester before changing from one school to another. You can attend for a week and then switch . To change you just have to login to ircc website and follow the steps in the link below. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/change-schools/account.html Please note that when changing schools the new school you are changing to must also be a dli. |
ugoguchy:If she changes school before travelling to Canada she needs to alert IRCC and that would mean applying for a new study permit. If she wants to change school when she gets to Canada , she needs to take some courses in the school she used in getting her study permit then withdraw and switch to a new DLI then alert IRCC in Canada . |
Talksub:It could be a reason. And secondly you made mention on changing name. That means their system wont recognise you except you do another biometrics. Lastly when filling the form online for the visa , the part that asked if you answered other names in the past ,what did you fill in there? |
Talksub:Did you use a different passport? |
Dreiwizzy:It cost $155 cad to apply for a temporary work permit. Let me also add that if the LMIA is approved and your friend gets a letter of employment and eventually apply and get the work permit approved. He can only work for that employer when he gets to Canada . This is because a work permit based on LMIA approval is an "employer specific work permit and not an open work permit". |
Dreiwizzy:The employer would need to get an approved LMIA ( labour market impact assessment) and get your friend a letter of employment then your friend can start the process of applying for a temporary work permit outside Canada. |
oyeflexy4217:It's United States of America |
greeners222:A year program would give you 1year PGWP. |
tuneao:3years |
amila20042001:Click on the link below to take you to the page needed for international students to apply to colleges in Ontario . You will find centennial college among them https://www.ontariocolleges.ca/en/apply-now/apply-now-international |
blessingflow:Yes you can. But it depends on how you intend to do it |
blessingflow:Repeating what I wrote earlier. All PGWP eligible colleges or universities are designated learning institutions but not all designated learning institutions are eligible for PGWP. Read that again and understand properly. Western community college is a designated learning institution but graduates from that college are not eligible for PGWP after studies. Now go back to that page you uploaded and look to the far right on the same line the school is listed to check if you find a YES or NO. If yes then you can apply for PGWP if you graduate from that college if No then you can't. So go back to that link and check again. Goodluck |
blessingflow:When applying to a college or a University in Canada to study and hope to apply for a PGWP after studies it is important to confirm if it is a designated learning institution and secondly if international graduates from that college or university are eligible for post graduation work permit ( for those interested in applying for pgwp). The bottom line is not all designated learning institutions in Canada are eligible for PGWP but all PGWP eligible institutions are designated learning institution. Below is a link to help you check if the school you intend to apply to will be able to qualify you for PGWP after studies . All you need to do after clicking is select the province where the school is located and search for the school and find if they qualify or not. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html |
BeejayB:. I think he or she meant London in Ontario Canada |
blessingflow:Graduates of Western community college Surrey , aren't eligible for post graduation work permit after study. |
