My passport expires in in July, I got a passport request yesterday. Please does the expiration date on my passport matter? It’s not possible for me to get my passport renewed in 30days from now.

Canada doesn't issue visa past the expiry date on passport. So it's better if you can find a way to renew your passport on time.

Hey guys, I need some help please. My sister is trying to submit her study permit application. She has filled the forms, attached and uploaded all necessary docs.
She then went ahead to pay. However it showed 'your payment is being processed. this can take up to 24 hours, we'll email you confirmation link' bla bla bla.
More than 24 hours later, she checked and it's just showing that the fees still need to be paid and when she clicks on continue application it does nothing.
We've tried different cards including my card which is a foreign card but nothing is working, it's not debiting me and not showing payment failed or error. Just the same 'processing' and then it reverts back to the page where they need to pay again.

Has anyone experienced this or have any input. I know IRCC's system is buggy but this is really annoying and I'm assuming all online applications must be paid for online and can't be done at the local VFS yes?

Any help from you guys on our next step would be appreciated. Thanks

Try paying with Visa prepaid card or visa electron prepaid card.

Centennial college
If the co-op is optional, and your letter of acceptance doesn't include a coop work permit letter. Then you most likely applied for the program without the coop.

I need urgent help pls, I have my admission letter to apply for visa, but I don’t under one of the this demand from visa requirements since December.

That says I should provide the letter of curriculum from my school state that work is a requirement for the completion of my studies
.
Is work placement or coop placement part of your program of study? If the answer is yes ; you will receive a separate letter from your school , together with your letter of acceptance stating this and asking IRCC to also approve an open work permit together with your study permit. The application system is requesting for this document , because you must have selected yes to the question " is work placement a compulsory part of your intended study in Canada".
If work placement isn't part of your study , you must select no as the answer.

please someone should please guide me on wat to do next after geting an admission in a canadian university, and i would love to know if study permit comes before visa processing
When you get an admission , your next step is to apply for a study permit. When you apply for the study permit you are also applying for the visa that will enable you fly to Canada. If your application is approved , you will also be issued a Visa to allow you to travel to Canada. It is when you get to Canada that you would be issued a study permit by the immigration. I hope my explanation is clear?

Only CAC documents submitted as self employed
.
You also need to show your tax records , other documents to show how you made your money . Having a lot of money in your account is one thing but IRCC is also interested in how you were able to make the money and they want to see proofs to be convinced. If you also have assets like building or Land that can also stand as home ties that will be great.

thank you very much for your response.

but if she does that, how will she get her study permit?, I understand she needs it for her study. how will she get it

If she applied for her study permit while inside Canada and stated it in the application. Her permit will be mailed to her address in Canada. But if she applied outside Canada , she will be issued the study permit at the airport whenever she comes to Canada to start her study.
Doesn't she intend to go back to Nigeria after her visit , then come back later when school is about to start?

Good morning good people of this platform.
Please I need your help,
A friend of mine got admission to a school in Canada.
The issue now is that, he is married and wants to apply with his wife and child.
The thing is, on POF, he wants to apply with #12million.

Question now is, will #12m be enough for family of three.
Please your kind opinion.
Thanks

You need to calculate your tuition for one year and add $10000cad (upkeep for you for 1yr) but if your school is inside Quebec you will need $11000cad for 1yr upkeep. After making the calculation deduct the amount from the 12million naira you have to see how much you have left. If your program will last for 2yrs or 3yrs then you need to multiply your expenses accordingly.
NB: the above expenses is only for you. Expenses for your family is not included.

Hello Experts in the house I need guidance.

My sister received PPR today for study visa, but she is currently in Canada on a visiting visa, what is the best way to have her passport stamped (study visa).

does she necessarily have to travel to Nigeria before sending her passport to Nairobi for stamping, or can she send it straight to Nairobi from Canada through courier?

please assist with advise.

thank you

She can send her passport to IRCC office in Ottawa for the visa stamp. She will need to use an express mail to send her passport and in the envelope also include a copy of the passport request letter and another envelope with her address, for the return of her passport. Please note that the cost of the return mail must be paid for by her. She should inform them at the post office about this.
NB: make sure her stay in Canada at the time of sending her passport is authorized.

Thanks a lot Mrprolifik, Quinstershaw and Pace6.
Note*i compressed each of these files to 4mb each before submitting them in October . They were so small and barely readable

POF, Fam info,
Digital photo, Int'l passport,LOA, Client info and Imm5257
I'm wondering how to compress already compressed 7 files. That is 4mb×7 compressed into 3.5mb sad each of the files are barely readable.
Try to convert the original files to pdf . After converting then you compress each files separately . After compressing you can calculate the size of each files and if the total doesn't exceed the allowed limit, you can then merge your files.

@bullstriker and other gurus in the platform I need your support pls

See attached

To get the full picture you need to request for your gcms notes. But from what I can see here you didn't show strong home ties and secondly you didnt make any tuition fee payment.
My advice to you is to use your family as home ties, together with landed properties if you have any and try to at least pay 1year tuition if you can . This will go a long way in convincing the visa officer that your main aim of going to Canada is to study and not to migrate.
Lastly , in case you need help in writing a convincing letter of explanation for your next application , you can reach out to some expert writers in Nairaland and I am sure they would gladly help you.
Goodluck.

**IRCC requested I resubmit my application with all my documents through webform. ** As it's not possible to merge all these documents to 3.5mb
(POF, Fam info, Digital photo, Int'l passport,LOA, Client info and Imm5257)

Is it advisable for me to submit the files one after the other...that is 7 webforms?
I'll really appreciate everyone's contribution.
May God grant all of us ppr in Jesus name Amen.

You can merge and compress your file online using pdf compressor to make it smaller.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to start my application to study in Canada come September but the agent is telling me my application won't fly without an ielts or it's equivalent. How true is that?
If the college or university didn't request for it before granting you admission , then you dont need to provide it.

Good morning. Please I need advice on this. My sister student visa got approved after she had deferred her admission to September 2023. What can she do now because the visa is currently running, and will expire at the time she resumes school if she decides to wait.
.
Don't get confused. The visa only allows her to travel to Canada. It is when she gets to Canada that she will get her study permit. So as long as she deferred her start to fall 2023 , she must also make sure she has an updated letter of acceptance which shows the program starting in fall 2023. If she likes she can also forward IRCC the new letter of acceptance for records , via webform. When she decides to travel later in the year she won't have any problems.

Thank you for the swift reply. I think we will start by getting an admission then, just wanted to have an idea of what our chances are before starting this CA long journey. Do you advice we go for MBA or just get a college degree again? She has bsc in Bank & finance.
.
Masters would be better because it also shows academic progression.

Apologies for calling the TOWN HALL meeting.. need your advice. here is my story.

My wife has a Bsc but has never worked. graduated 5years ago. (5years studey gap)
We have a child.
She's in her early 30s
We want her to be the primary applicant, so she'll go for Masters or any better program
Husband own a small business.

Is there a chance of getting admission? if Yes, what is our chances of getting visa, if we are able to pay the 1se semester fee and show enough funds in SOA, can husband be the sponsor or any one of us can?
.
Here is my own little contribution.
She can still get an admission even with a 5yr study gap, as long as she meets other admission requirements. Yes you as the husband can be her sponsor, as far as you have enough money to cover her expenses while she is in Canada ( tuition and accommodation). She can use you as her home ties .
Visa approval depends on how she is able to convince the Visa officer that she really intends to study and not trying to migrate. From the way I see it she needs to find an expert writer to help her draft a convincing Statement of purpose (SOP).
Goodluck

Good morning my good people.
Please I plan to apply for my study permit, I was once denied Canada visiting visa in 2019 based on purpose of visit . My question is will I still need a letter of explanation to explain the denial or I should tackle that in my statement of purpose that I will submit..Please urgent answers needed.

Thanks my great people
You don't need to explain anything because you are applying for study permit this time. Secondly your UCI (unique client identification number) would remain the same with that of your visitor visa application . Therefore they will know that you have applied for a visitor visa in the past. Lastly make sure you answer yes to the question " have you ever been denied a visa to Canada or any country in the past ? ".
Goodluck.

Please we need to be clear on new letter of acceptance after visa has been issued. We had to defer from Jan 2023 to may 2023 admission ( about 120 days or so) because the visa came late and could not met the; resumption deadline. Do we need to send the New letter of acceptance to IRCC through webform or not?.
.
According to IRCC deferment is between you and your college. So as long as you are going for the same program, in the same school and you have a new letter of acceptance to show for your new start date. It's not compulsory to send IRCC a copy.

Good day guys. A friend of mine applied for Canada visa while in Nigeria and now IRCC asked him to submit his passport but he’s currently out of the country. Can he submit it at where he is or would he have to DHL it to Nigeria? And how long does it take them to stamp passports these days?

Thanks in anticipation.
After getting a passport request from IRCC you can submit your passport at any Canada visa application centre ( VAC) in your current location for Visa stamp. It is very important to take along with you a copy of the passport request letter.

Moyosore019:

“inform IRCC via webform using your account“ please how? Is it the same as sending emails and webform? Please what do you mean by using your account?
.
The visa in your passport is not a study permit. The visa allows you to travel to Canada. It is when you get to Canada that your study permit will be issued by the Canadian border security agency ( immigration).
If the visa in your passport is still valid when you plan to start your program , then you are good to go, as long as it's the same school and same program you used in applying for the study permit. But remember to get your updated letter of acceptance from your school. You can send IRCC an email via webform after logging into you account to inform them of your new start date but it isnt compulsory.
Remember it isn't compulsory but its safer. But if your visa isn't approved yet and you defer your program ,then it's a must that you have to inform ircc via webform by also sending them your new letter of acceptance .
Goodluck

Make sure you have enough money in your account, or your sponsors account that covers the balance of your tuition and extra $10000cad/ year for upkeep if school Is outside the Province of Quebec , or $11000cad/year for upkeep if school is inside the Quebec province.

Alot of people have gotten their study permit application approved by paying only the tuition deposit.

If your updated letter of acceptance is for the same program and same college, then all you need to do is inform IRCC via webform using your account and they will reply you and tell you what to do. But if you plan on attending a new college and you are outside Canada then you will need to apply for a new study permit.
NB: if you defer your start date by 150days or more then you need to get an updated letter of acceptance and inform IRCC by uploading the new LOA and sending it to IRCC via your account.

Hi guys, I just moved to the UK In October for my PHD with my wife and 2 kids. I’m the main applicant and wife is dependent.

My two younger brothers are also coming in February for their masters with their wife’s
and kids

The 3 of us are planning on buying a property which would serve as a family house for 3 of us our wife’s and kids, instead of paying multiple rent.

We jointly have about 18M in Nigeria
Please can this be enough to serve as a down payment for a bungalow where we can spread the balance over the years in a mortgage plan.

Also, we are planning on putting all the funds (18M) into one account and send it to UK via form A. Would this be possible?

Please can someone advise me on the process for all this and guide us on what best to do to avoid mistakes

Please advise

I dont think a bungalow would be able to stand for 3 families. The way things work in Europe is that each house or appartment has a maximum number of people that can live in it, according to the building plan of the house . And during the registration of your residency at your local mayor office where the building is situated they will also make sure the total number of people to be registered as living in that particular appartment doesn't exceed the allowable limit. So maybe your best option for now, would be for each family to rent an appartment based on the size of their family until you can find a house so big and built in a way that it can accommodate 3 families.
