Phew, at least we only chopped 4 at the etihad, spurs and arsenal chop am. |
coogar: that's a player that managed 38/38 in the last 2 seasons. he played about 30 mins on tuesday without any incident. he is injured again off the pitch. moyes has turned carrington into a terrorist bootcamp. maybe he asks them to carry rocks or kick concrete balls. It's a disgrace he played 90mins against Newcastle after being out for almost a month. But Moyes said he didn't want to take him off because of the fans. Clueless doesn't even cover it. |
Goes to show how poorly managed RVP has been by the staff. |
Katsumoto: You nailed it.Vieira to have taught Keane a lesson? ![]() |
elampiro: If Moyes were to be in Everton now, even without Lukaku and Barry, he would be around 5th to 7th. Not 9th.The pressure at a big club is different that's why only the best survive. There are results that Moyes might get at Everton but the expectation to win every match wasnt there. At united it is and you should also be prepared for teams to raise their games against you. Whats making it worse is he is putting the pressure on himself. All fans were ready to give him a chance. He wasnt even my first choice but I was ready to support him and give him a chance but look at where he's getting us? |
I didnt answer it because I said it was a loaded question. Any names I give you now would be irrelevant as we are all armchair football experts. It is up to Moyes and his staff to either unearth the next gem or scout the world class talent that will allow him to be successful. The point in the post was he couldnt do it with all the tie he had to do, what makes you think he'll do it in January or the summer? |
Oghos1: I'm glad u said 85%That's a loaded question. Loads of players are available but it is the job of the scouts and his coaching staff to recognise those players and sign them. He recognised Fellaini, a player he brought to the premier league and coached for many years as the answer to our midfield issues. We can see how well that is going. He also earmarked Anders Herrera, so what happened there? So 1) we cant trust to club to identify the right targets and even when we do identify potential targets we cannot sign them for whatever reason. We cannot even rely on them to unearth a hidden gem. So what's the point giving him the funds and players? |
StarBoard: At this stage, wouldn't you look at Martinez? If Moyes was the only other option, then yes, but Overall. No. Is till still it hard to believe we were unable to get any manager with a winning pedigree and experience in Europe to manage man utd. Even Fergie was hired based on his achievements, which included those two. What would be the achievements used to hire Moyes or Martinez? I like Martinez but he's not exactly perfect himself. One of his first signings was Kone who is pretty awful but he saw fit to spunk nearly £7m of everton's money on him. Think he also brought in Alcatraz, again another awful player from Wigan. I like the fact his teams play progressive passing football which he started at Swansea before Rodgers but he's also well known to be very clueless about defending and set pieces. Again, I'm not rubbishing Martinez, as in my book he is better than Moyes but I feel we should be aiming higher than those two to manage Manchester United. |
It looks obvious that it was Moyes holding Everton back. With Moyes in charge there was always going to be a ceiling, a limit to where he could take them. You can't say the same with this current Everton team. Martinez could eventually talk them to the top. Under Moyes they would not have brought in Lukaku as Moyes would have said he already has Fellaini. What exactly was Moyes' biggest achievement? Finishing the top 4 once and not making it past the qualifying for the CL Proper. That's it?even though Martinez got relegated, he has an FA Cup trophy on his CV. Not saying I would have preferred Martinez, just saying Everton upgraded the coach while didn't. |
Swansea in the cup. |
I do not doubt that the shared scottish background played a factor in DM's appointment I thought it was more from the long time management of Everton on a lean budget and achieving moderate success (top 10). Management and SAF assumed he would maintain the man utd standard with a larger budget than he was use too but won't be too much strain on The Glazers financially so we get to pay off our debt. Sad part is we have to spend now.
SAF confirmed he picked Moyes for his Scottish background.its in his book. |
Wow, Fergie needs to come back. |
No words anymore ![]() |
Evra nearly killed us at the end there. We're just not very good. There isn't enough from our midfield in terms of creativity. Adnan and Nani have same talent level but Adnan is already more mature as a footballer than Nani which is a shame. I'd still rather see Nani than Valencia out there given a run in the side like Valencia has been given. |
I really hope we haven't rushed RVP back. |
afrodoc: I don't think anybody is claiming that Jones is a world class midfielder or the long term answer to our midfield problems, however it looks like he is the best bet for now. This says more about Moyes than Zaha. |
Where do we go from here? Im hoping things can't get worse right? Or can they? Will they? ![]() |
Oghos1: How many more hours till january transfer window? You want to give Moyes more money after the Fellaini signing? Are you sure? |
Our season is over in December. ![]() |
Still no RVP for tonight. ![]() And we know Lukaku about to be on beast mode again. Not looking forward to this. |
Fellaini will play v Everton on weds. We will drop points. The two are linked. That is all. |
Its not the spurs result that im disappointed with. Its the season so far. In the grand scheme its not a bad result. But we dropped very silly points to west brom, Cardiff, soton. That would have made a huge difference for us right now. We didn't improve the team this summer and we brought in a worse manager. So what did we really expect? At this stage we would be very lucky to make top 4 and a forth place finish would be a huge achievement for Moyes but that is part of the problem we're facing. We want to be fighting for the title but Moyes doesn't know what that is like. And that is how we have to adjust our expectations. Taking this match in isolation Moyes cannot see Valencia' weaknesses on the pitch. Cleverley as bad as he is, is among the best of what we have. Definitely better than Fellaini. Same with Jones. Anyways. A good point in isolation. Everton on Wednesday. Very tough. Hope Rvp is back soon. |
We concede too many goals for my liking. |
coogar: kyle walker + lennon is trouble for evra - we need a water carrier on that side & welbeck is the best we have got to be honest. welbeck's ball retention is the best in out striking department & he recovers ball excellently.Id rather walker worries about keeping Nani quiet. And id fancy Nani's chances. |
I guess its what we have. Im just happy i don't get to watch Fellaini. |
Not sure about this lineup Moyes. |
Huge respect to the legend that is Ryan Giggs. His quality is still there but his legs are definitely catching up on him. But his quality is still there at age 40. I do hope he retires gracefully at the end of this season as I don't want to feel any annoyance towards him. Tearing you apart since 1992! |
Well that was an absolutely fantastic result and performance. I do have to acknowledge how absolutely woeful Leverkusen are but still you can only beat what's in front of you. hope Moyes and the players take confidence from this. Oh and can Fellaini please go away. |
coded guy: With the way Moyes goes about his subs if we had Messi on the right and CR onthe left, Moyes will still conspire to introduce Giggs nd evry effort would go south.Messi and CRonaldo would be on the bench under Moyes. |
Fact is, the buck stops with the manager. It is his responsibility to get the best out of his squad. Moyes isnt even close to doing that right now. |
chamotex: Moyes: "I would have taken the result (2-2 draw) before the game."It's our reality. We hired a mid table manager so we should set our expectations accordingly. This is it from now on until Moyes leaves. |
We didn't even deserve the point. No way should the 4 in midfield be starting. All awful. Also Nani should be starting ahead of the limited Valencia. I cannot believe how bad my beloved man united is. Moyes is just showing his mentality. He doesn't know how to go for it. He's bringing on Giggs. We have Anderson,Young and Nani there and he brings on Giggs. He's showing his small team mentality. So we should adjust our expectations accordingly. We're a mess and he doesn't know what he's doing. He's not willing to use his more talented and flair players. He prefers grafters. |
