- President Muhammadu Buhari has rated his administration in the area of delivering democracy to Nigerians - The Nigerians leader stated that his government has done better with fewer resources right from 2015 - The president, therefore, called on Nigerian elite to judge his leadership style with nothing but fairness President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, September 8, gave his administration a pat on the back during in his speech at the first-year ministerial performance review retreat held in Abuja. The Nigerian leader claimed that his government has done quite well in comparison with past administration with fewer resources. Based on this, the president called on the Nigerian elite to judge his leadership style and delivery of democracy with fairness, Channels TV reports. He reminded fellow citizens that from 1999 to 2014, the average production of oil in Nigeria was 2.1 million barrels per day sold at an average price of $100. President Buhari recounted:“When we came, it collapsed to $37, $38 per barrel, you know it. And the militants were unleashed on the administration, and the production went down to half a million barrels per day. “I want you to please reflect, what was the condition of the infrastructure then, in spite of those earnings. The roads, the rail is dead and there was no power, up till now no power; where does the money go?” Earlier, the federal government, through the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) had hands-off from fixing prices for petrol . This came after the PPPRA's executive secretary, Abdulkadir Saidu, on Tuesday, September 8, announced that from now on, factors that would determine the retail price of the product will be influenced by demand and supply and the global market. Speaking on behalf of Saidu, Victor Shidok, PPPRA's general manager for administration and human resources, said that in order to prevent abuse of the government's consent, the agency will remain the regulator for marketers. Saidu said:“This, however, must be in accordance with our code of conduct because as a regulator, it is our duty to protect the consumer and operators must abide by our codes.” https://www.legit.ng/1364085-please-judge-buhari-begs-nigerian-elite.html Lalasticlala Mynd44 OAM4J Na me talk

According to the clergyman, “the whole world will celebrate Biafra victory on October 12, just a few weeks from now”. “I am not a prophet of doom but I must tell you the truth we have not seen the end of the Biafra agitation. The respected clergyman who is always known for his accurate prophecies and predictions is being remembered at this time when the presidency has taken on IPOB leader and the group. Afeez Agoro Oladimeji was just like any other child while growing up until the age of 19 when he fell ill and soon started growing above the normal human height of any other person from his age group. He continued to fall ill several times and consequently realised he was growing abnormally tall. His parents sought medical interventions for his strong condition but to no avail. Today, at 44 years, Oladimeji is a sight to behold in Nigeria as he stands at 7 ft. 4 inches tall, which makes him unofficially the tallest man in the country and among the list of the tallest people in Africa. This would, however, come with many inconveniences, including a battle with rheumatism, restrictions on movement and, of course, a long delay in finding love. Born in Sabo, Yaba in Lagos on December 13, 1975, Oladimeji is the youngest of three children who had his early education at St. Finbarr’s College before obtaining an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), followed by a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Town and Regional Planning at the Lagos State Polytechnic. He subsequently pursued a degree in Computer Science at the University of Lagos. “My growing up was a miracle in a way. All through my secondary school days, I was not even one of the tallest students. But right after secondary school, I started feeling that I was growing tall. Ten years after secondary school, some of my mates who hadn’t seen me for long started telling me I was no longer the same Oladimeji they knew. They said I had become an alien because I was twice as tall as them,” he told The Nation in an interview. Oladimeji said his parents had to give him some special care and attention due to his condition. “My father, when he was still alive, showed a lot of concern, especially because it got to a point when none of my clothes and shoes could size me anymore. He took me to Igbobi Hospital to ascertain whether I had one deficiency but the doctors never saw anything.” “My father, before he died, built a house that would be convenient for me to move in and out, and that has helped me greatly as I bear the pain and challenges of rheumatism. “When he died in 2005, my mummy was sceptical about my health condition. She took me to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to get me tested and the report of the test was that I was over-secreting glands. I later underwent a heart surgery in the US. Heart correction is one of the surgeries that most persons with abnormal growth will have to go through.” Oladimeji, who has since been an actor and model, said his condition requires him to work out regularly to ease the load on his legs. He previously had difficulties finding a job as well because most employers were intimidated by his height, he said. Luckily, he got a contract job with the Lagos State Government, which lasted for two years. He subsequently decided to establish small businesses for himself and is, at the moment, combining those with his work in modelling and entertainment. But to move around, Oladimeji has had to rely mostly on commercial motorcycles. If it’s a taxi, the passenger seat in front has to be adjusted all the way to the back for him to be able to fit in. His clothes are often made from special tailors who sew to fit his size while his shoes and other personal items are usually imported from the U.S. Then the other major challenge for most people of his height arrived: finding a partner. “Many ladies run away from me as a result of my height; so finding a wife, for a long time, was tough,” Oladimeji recalled. He, however, indicated this June that he had found a woman who he has proposed to and would be marrying soon. Despite the setbacks, the actor and model said he does not regret his condition as the positives are far greater than the negatives. Apart from the love and special treatment he receives from people due to his height, what he finds awesome was how swiftly he got a visa when he applied to go to the U.S. He is, nevertheless, not happy with officials in Lagos, especially the Lagos State Tourism Board after a promise to make him a Tourism Ambassador due to his exceptional height is yet to be fulfilled. Oladimeji is currently among several others who have grown much taller than they otherwise would. From time immemorial, there exist stories of men and women who grew above the normal human height — a phenomenon that has attracted several scientific terms, such as pituitary gigantism, eunuchoid tallness, acromegaly, and Sotos syndrome. Sultan Kösen is currently the world’s tallest man while Africa tallest men include: Hussein Mohamed Bisad; the tallest man in Somalia; father of four Jackson Kipkirui Koskei, suspected to be the tallest man in Kenya, and Mounir Fourar who remains Algeria’s tallest man despite his death in 2012. Scientists say children who have an adenoma, a tumor of the pituitary gland, may secrete too much growth hormone which can cause them to grow much taller than they otherwise would. According to an article by Medical News Today , gigantism is almost always the result of a pituitary tumour, though some rare medical conditions can also cause excessive growth. These include Carney complex, neurofibromatosis, McCune-Albright syndrome and multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1. “People who are abnormally tall are also at risk of a wide number of health issues. Their excessive size can strain the metabolic system and cause cardiovascular problems, including an enlarged heart,” the article added. https://www.adomonline.com/meet-nigerias-tallest-man-photos/ Lalasticlala Freiburger r231

Kogi Commissioner, Abdulmumuni Danga Who Allegedly Raped, Brutalised Lady Finally Charged To Court Five months after incident, outrage and calls for justice by activists and concerned Nigerians, Police have finally charged Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Abdulmumuni Danga, for allegedly raping and brutalising a young lady over her Facebook post. Recalls that trouble started for the victim identified as Elizabeth Oyeniyi when she posted on her Facebook wall, a message urging the commissioner to assist his kid sister and other members of his family financially, following series of complaints by the commissioner’s sister to her. The commissioner reportedly hired thugs to abduct Elizabeth from her home in Lokoja with her three-year-old son after stumbling upon her post. Narrating how Danga brutalised her, she said “On getting there, they flogged me. He flogged us himself, stripped me naked and made a video of me threatening to post it when next I make any public comment about it,” she said. Narrating how the commissioner raped her, she said Danga held her captive and took her to a hotel at night where he forcefully had sex with her. The incident sparked outrage after the lady shared evidence of her ordeal on social media. Elizabeth had expressed fear for her life, revealing that she and her family members were receiving threats from loyalists and thugs of the commissioner. The commissioner, however, was arrested after former Kogi governorship candidate, Natasha Akpoti amongst other concerned Nigerians and activists pressured for justice from law enforcement agencies despite several attempts to bury the case. The Nigeria Police Force has now charged to court Mr Abdulmumuni Danga, on a seven-count charge including rape to brutality, coercion and torture, five months after the event took place and three months after the commissioner was first invited for questioning by the police. He was also charged for falsifying documents and threatening medical officer to forge test result. In count one of the charges, Danga was accused of having carnal knowledge of Elizabeth Onyeniyi without her consent; and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015. In count two of the charges, the police said Danga with other persons now at large; in Lokoja willfully inflicted physical injury on Elizabeth by flogging her with electric cable wire. https://autogists.com/2020/09/08/kogi-commissioner-abdulmumuni-danga-who-allegedly-raped-brutalised-lady-finally-charged-to-court/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 OAM4J

Barring any hitch in plans, northern power brokers, in concert with their influential counterparts in the South, have commenced the search for presidential candidates who they intend to push for the 2019 election. While the godfathers, as well as foot soldiers of the secret plot, are mostly members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), they are looking beyond the party for the candidates. This is even as the possible presidential running mate will still emerge from the South-West. In this regard, the fate of acting President Yemi Osinbajo hangs in the balance as far as the permutation is concerned. Those behind the plot for the new presidential candidates are hoping that President Muhammadu Buhari would not contest the 2019 presidential election. But the plan appears to run contrary to the pronouncement made by the national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, that the party would still field President Buhari as candidate in 2019 in spite of his fragile health. An impeccable source close to one of the camps behind the plan confided in our correspondent that at least, three serving governors, as well as two serving senators are being touted as possible candidates to replace Buhari. They are Governors Kashim Shettima (Borno), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto) and Senators Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Kabiru Gaya, who were both governors of Kano State at different times. All, except Dankwambo who belongs to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are of the ruling APC. “From the look of things, the president, who is currently on medical follow-up in the UK, might not have the energy to face the rigour of political campaigns for the 2019 election. “While some might be praying for the unforeseen so that their political empire will blossom, what we are praying God to grant us is to give Mr. President enough strength to complete the remaining period of this term, so that we can redraw our political architecture in the country. “Already, some elders from the North with deep contacts in the South have started consultations on the way forward for the nation with regards to 2019. Those who set the tone for Buhari and the APC are still there and they are talking. “From all indications, this time around, the search will be expanded to other parties, including our most vociferous opposition, which is the PDP. “But we cannot just face the burden of the name. So whatever it is that happens, whoever the lot falls on even outside the APC, he will join us in our party,” the source, an influential member of the APC, said. It was gathered that talks in this direction commenced in March during Buhari’s first medical trip abroad this year. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who is said to be actively involved in the push, was reportedly rooting for Kwankwaso until last month when he allegedly drafted in Dankwambo. He is the only known southerner involved in the plot. The Gombe governor served as Accountant General of the Federation under Obasanjo. If plans work according to the former president’s game, Dankwambo may dump the PDP for APC towards the end of this year. For both Kwankwaso and Gaya, movers of the plot are banking on the voting strength of Kano while Tambuwal’s youthful advantage as well as his deep contacts in other zones, are being considered as assets for him. For Shettima, he is said to be considered on the strength of his position as chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, a group he has led with maturity for over two years. But the need to placate the devastated North-East is also paramount in the thinking of those behind the plot. https://www.oduavoice.com/2017/06/26/2019-norther-power-brokers-obasanjo-shop-for-presidential-candidate-beyond-apc-plot-to-ditch-osinbajo-pencils-3-govs-2-senators/ |
