I love weddings. I really do. There’s nothing better than seeing either my friends or one of my family members committing their lives to the person that makes them the happiest. I love being able to share in the joy and beauty of the day. However, there’s always one thing that inevitably ruins the fun at weddings for me. And that is the well-meaning, but unwelcome attention from those people who can’t help but comment on the fact that I’m single. But, believe it or not, and I say this on behalf of most singletons I know, your concern is misplaced. Yes, it’s nice to have a partner, but we’re certainly not defined by them (or lack thereof), and judging us on the fact that we don’t have someone by our side, especially at a wedding, isn’t fair. To give you a bit of a guide on how to interact with single people at a wedding, here’s a list of things you shouldn’t say or ask us: 1. So, have you been dating anyone? Frankly, as far as conversation starters go, we’d much rather talk about the weather. I suppose I could be nice enough to let it slide the first time around, but if you do this at every single wedding I see you at afterwards, consider yourself uninvited to my future wedding. 2. When will you get a boyfriend? When pigs fly? When the moon turns purple? Oh, the snarky comebacks one could come up with in response to this question. But, I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’ll get a boyfriend when I want one. Trust me, I’ve made the mistake of dating for the sake of dating and to not be lonely, and I’ve learned that it’s better to be on your own than to be with someone who feels more like a platonic friend than anything else. 3. When are you and your partner planning to get married? (This one’s for the singles who are dating) Oh it depends. If I’m at a funeral can I ask when it’s your turn to die? (Oh, and for the record, don’t follow those questions up with when will you have children, when will you have a second child, etc) No one likes being asked this. No one. 4. The bride is about to throw her bouquet. You should totally go and join in on the fun. Not all single people are comfortable with the idea of going to the middle of the reception hall. If you want to, then by all means do (and good for you), but don’t try to force me to join in. I happen to be an introvert and hate feeling as if I’m being exposed. 5. Oooh, I know someone you should totally meet. Um, no. I didn’t come to the wedding to find someone to date. And no, I don’t need you to play matchmaker for me. If someone wants to get to know me, I’d rather that it happen naturally and unexpectedly, instead of having someone trying to set me up with someone. I know that it works for people in some cases, and I’m always thrilled when it does happen, but I’m not up for it, and would appreciate it if you’d not try to decide how I should meet my potential soul mate. Has someone ever said one of the above mentioned things to you? What else would you add to the list above? Source - women24. |
Abuja - Facing an increasingly violent Islamist insurgency, governors from three states in northeast Nigeria asked President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday to deploy extra troops to secure their regions before next month's presidential election. With less than six weeks to go before the polls, officials are concerned the northeast may be so destabilised by Boko Haram militants that millions of people are prevented from voting in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, the worst affected of Nigeria's 36 states. "We need more troops. The troops on the ground we have in our various states are not enough," Yobe state governor Ibrahim Gaidem told journalists at the presidential villa after meeting with Jonathan. "We appealed to the president to deploy additional troops with full equipment to tame the situation." The presidency was not immediately available to comment, but a presidential source told Reuters Jonathan had accepted the request in principle. The source did not give further details. Also read: Insurgency, fraud pose risks for credible election Security will be a major election issue in the country with the biggest economy and population in Africa. The electoral commission says more than a million Nigerians displaced by the Islamist insurgency in the northeast may not be able to vote on Feb. 14 unless the law is changed to enable them to do so away from their home regions. Parliament is considering such a law. Jonathan's main opponent is Muhammadu Buhari, a Muslim from the north who, as a former military leader, is seen as tough on security. The five-year-old insurgency, which is trying to revive a medieval Islamic caliphate, has killed thousands of people and uprooted more than a million. The militants have also kidnapped hundreds of children: 200 girls snatched from a school in the village of Chibok last April remain missing. The military seems ill-equipped and overstretched against a determined foe. Boko Haram killed dozens of civilians and at least 11 soldiers when it took control of a Nigerian town and army base on the shores of Lake Chad, at the borders with Chad and Cameroon, at the weekend. Refugees aside, it may be too insecure in some parts of the northeast to hold an election at all, officials say, and many foreign observers will not get security clearance to go up there. But the governors of the three states under a military state of emergency were confident the polls would happen everywhere. "Definitely in all those areas where the insurgency exist, elections will hold," Gaidem said. - Reuters http://m.news24.com/nigeria/National/News/Governors-facing-Boko-Haram-request-more-troops-before-election-20150106 |
Oduduwaboy:The answer to your question is simple. Everything bout Lucifer being sent down from heaven is thrash, all lies and myth. |
1. Well for starters, I don't hate religion but i do hate the aspects of it. That being said lets talk about the aspects of religion that gets peoples blood boiling. First its probably the fact that most religions do not have such a great past behind them like Christianity, for a religion to be so well peaceful and nice they have a whole bunch of hypocrites and well bigots. The ones preaching and screaming love to everyone but yet they go and they become different people. 2. The other issue with religion is that they teach their members to spread their belief system. Its not bad but why spread it but when it comes down to it , its more or less if you do not believe then when you die you got to this or that place(hell fire) and it will be bad and you wouldn't like that. Its bad to get new members out of fear they should do a different approach. 3. Street preachers... i really really hate that they can say horrible things and get away with it. Like calling people whores or they are LovePeddler in gods eyes. That really burns me up how can you say those things to another human being and then say i'm not saying the bible is, clearly one would have empathy not to say such horrible things. 4. Door to door theists. Enough said yes they are annoying and are trying to spread the word of god. nothing is wrong with that but why on earth would you go around on the weekends doing this why waste our time on the weekend try again maybe on a Friday or a day close to the weekend. 5. Also the teaching of ignorance over fact. If its one thing I learned, ignorance is not bliss not one bit. Humanity has been around for millions of years and adapted and changed and evolved. We are still animals but we are the smartest animals on this planet. But one thing people choosing myth over fact won't change. The only way for religion to be around is they have to adapt and change even the pope knows that and is pushing for more science in the catholic faith. Now saying science is wrong its fine because you know why, if science is so wrong on everything why is that things such as airplanes wouldn't exist if people didn't make the impossible possible. Science will always triumph over faith and religion any day. Does prayer cure the sick? no. Does modern medicine and that would be yes. 6. I should probably tie this up, but there is some people in religion who wants to legitimately help you but, how does one be a republican and a christian. Last time I checked republicans really do not like helping others, so a non helpful christian isn't very much a christian. And in ending note its funny how hate groups can get away with hatred and other forms of it by using the bible as a justified means of hatred. Last time I checked you were supposed to be loving and kind and helpful oh well considering they can't do anything too dramatic like christian extremists do. 7. And in tieing this up, I do see religion being a minor issue with humanity because there is the people who want the world to burn and end. I do not want the world to burn and end everyone has a chance for life and a chance to live till the day of his death, why want it to end; it seems kind of selfish. 8. Impregnate a virgin and raise the child as his only son, but also as his own incarnation, so that he can sacrifice himself, to himself, around the approximate age of 35 on a crucifix to save everyone from their sins and then resurrect him/ himself 3 days later to live with him/himself in heaven until some undesignated time in the future which the son (and also himself) can return for some kind of ultimate apocalypse. Pure Shitt. Like I said,it is my views, I don't expect insults from anyone. I have every-fuckingg-right to my opinion. |
1. Constant lying When you did something that you know your boyfriend or husband wouldn’t approve of, it can be tempting to lie to him about it. While it can be easy to lie, your lies will haunt you down the road. If you really love each other, you should never be afraid to tell the truth, no matter how hard it can be. A strong relationship is never based on lies. Remember it. One of the worst temptations that ruin your relationships is the desire to cheat on your partner. If you are in a long lasting relationship and you meet another man, everything can become so complicated. The only way to maintain your relationship strong is to refuse to give into that dangerous temptation, if you really love your partner. 3. Stealing your partner’s things When you are in a long term-relationship and you are living together, it can be tempting to steal your partner’s clothes or cash without asking him. While many couples are okay with it, others are not comfortable. Your boyfriend/husband has the right to know what you take or how much money you take. Don’t take anything without his permission and you will avoid lots of fights. 4. Spending more time with friends When you are in a very long-term relationship, you might get jealous of all of the parties and free time your friends (especially single ones) have. But, don’t allow the temptation of alone time to ruin your relationship. Don’t forget that you can spend time with your friends; you just need to discuss it with your partner and rearrange your schedule. 5. Putting no effort into your relationship Once you have been together for a long time, you may feel so comfortable that you may stop putting effort into your relationship. While comfort is a great thing, it can be dangerous as well. No matter how long you’ve been together, you still have to put effort into your relationship to make it last. 6. Constant fights When you are in a bad mood, it’s so easy to scream at your partner to let out your emotions, however, he could get hurt and it can lead to numerous fights. Don’t risk upsetting your partner, scream into a pillow if you are tempted to vent. It may sound funny, but it’s actually work. Never blame your sweetheart for problems that he didn’t cause. It’s one of the best ways to keep your relationship strong. 7. Taking your partner’s efforts for granted Just because you can walk all over him, doesn’t mean you should do it. If he washes your clothes for you and makes you breakfast every single morning, let him know that his hard work is highly appreciated. Treat your partner with respect and don’t take his efforts for granted. It can be hard to keep the relationship strong, especially if one of the partners put no effort into it. If you want your relationship to stay strong, make sure you don’t act on the aforementioned dangerous desires. There’s nothing wrong with you, if you have these desires, but just don’t act on them and ensure your partner doesn’t act on them as well. Which one of these desires is the most difficult for you to avoid succumbing to? Do you know any other temptations that can ruin a strong relationship? |

Yeah,I think those guys needs to apologise even after the demise of Yekini. It was very bad of them for doing that. I remember his lone celebration(can't really remember the match,I guess it was Nigeria's first World cup goal). Yekini deserved much more respect than what he got from his teammate and probably most Nigerians. Fact be told,He was Nigeria greatest striker. |

An Old Bailey jury has convicted two young London men of the brutal murder of fusilier Lee Rigby. It took the jury of eight women and four men about 90 minutes to return guilty verdicts on Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22. The pair were found not guilty of attempting to murder police officers at the scene of the killing on May 22. Adebolajo glared at journalists as he was led to the prison cells and kissed his copy of the Koran. Adebowale did not react to the verdicts. Mr Rigby's family and loved ones reached out to support each other, some of them in tears after the verdicts were delivered. Relatives later sobbed on the court steps as a statement was read by Detective Inspector Pete Sparks on their behalf. The statement read: "No one should have to go through what we have been through as a family. "We are satisfied that justice has been done, but unfortunately no amount of justice will bring Lee back. "These people have taken him away from us forever but his memory lives on in all of us and we will never forget him. "We now ask that we are left alone to grieve through our loss." The men will not be sentenced until January. Speaking to reporters in Brussels after the verdict, David Cameron said: "We have to redouble our efforts to confront the poisonous narrative of extremism and violence that lay behind this and make sure we do everything to beat it in our country." Home Secretary Theresa May said: "The sickening and barbaric murder of Drummer Lee Rigby united the entire nation in condemnation and I welcome the jury's decision. "Violence and extremism of any kind have absolutely no place in our society and cannot be justified." Farooq Murad, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "The murder of Drummer Lee Rigby was truly a barbaric act. "Muslim communities then, as now, were united in their condemnation of this crime. "This was a dishonourable act and no cause justifies cold-blooded murder." Speaking outside the court building, Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick, who leads Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism teams, said: "This horrific attack and murder which took place in broad daylight on the streets of London shocked the whole country. "It was intended to divide our communities, it has had largely the opposite effect and in fact brought people together." A member of the public shouted "hang them" as Ms Dick addressed television cameras and waiting journalists. The murder of the off-duty soldier both horrified and united the nation, as politicians, faith leaders and members of the community in south east London came together to condemn the killing. The 25-year-old drummer with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was singled out by his attackers because he was a soldier. Adebolajo, the only defendant who gave evidence, admitted killing the young serviceman, but claimed his actions were justified as part of a war against the British military and British government for wars waged by the UK in Muslim countries. During the trial, he was asked directly for his defence to the charge of murder. Adebolajo told the jury: "I am a soldier. I am a soldier of Allah and I understand that some people might not recognise this because we do not wear fatigues and we don't go to the Brecon Beacons to train. But we are still soldiers." He told the court he considered al Qaeda to be "mujahideen". He said: "I love them, they're my brothers. I have never met them. I consider them my brothers in Islam." Both Adebolajo and Adebowale had been known to the police and security services because of their extremist beliefs, but they had not been considered a significant or immediate threat. Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee is examining whether any opportunities to prevent Mr Rigby's murder might have been missed by the authorities. Scotland Yard's head of Specialist Operations, Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick, told Sky News the Met was fully co-operating with the inquiry. "If we had known, if we had information that told us that these people were likely to commit this attack, or if somebody had said this was about to happen, of course we would have done everything we could to try to prevent it from happening. "The profile of these two young men is not unique, sadly. And we will do our level best to try to find out about such people and to try to find out what they may intend. But we can't reduce the risks to zero," she said. Lee Rigby's mother, widow and other family members sat through each day of the three week long trial, listening to often very harrowing evidence and viewing graphic video of the events outside Woolwich barracks. At times, the evidence was just too much for the family to bear and they left court in tears on several occasions. ifeness: The fact that you noticed those awful stories in the bible is a fact that you have evolved mentally and consciously. The less evolved minds hold those stories dear to there heart. You are killing them by pointing out their foolishness. It is not their fault, after all a day old baby is yet to understand life. They’re too s!lly to know they’re the ones causing all the problems. They’ll fight to keep a fetus alive, but then they refuse to support single mothers or provide birth control. Hypocrites. They try to shove their morality down our throats, but in reality they’re a bunch of self-righteous bullies who probably watch kiddy porn on their computers, pick up prostitutes by the airport or solicit sex in public bathrooms. Christian women? A bunch of frigid Betty Crockers who clutch their pearls and demand censorship if they hear a top 40 song. You have to cut them a little slack, though. Their husbands treat them like crap and most likely beat them into submission. HOP ![]() |
5. You just don't know. Let's face reality here for a moment. There is no valid evidence for any deities. If there were valid and compelling evidence, then we would all be on the same page. There wouldn't be a million sects of each religion and there wouldn't be a million different religions. There would be one sect of one religion and God would make his presence known to us in a way that was so obvious that it couldn't be disputed. We would be able to see him, hear him, smell him, touch him, etc. There would be no atheists because we would have no choice but to believe. After all, he's God and he could do that kind of thing. No, that doesn't affect our alleged "Free Will." I know that MANDELA exists, but you don't see me worshiping him. |
