EducationRe: ASUU Strike: Government Blinks, Agrees To Spend N200b Each For Four Years by MrTAnonymous(m): 3:44am On Oct 17, 2013
Toyboyz: Towards ending the ongoing ASUU strike, the Federal Government has committed to spending N200 billion in the 2014 budget on the universities as well as on each of the next three-four years until the universities are brought to world-class standard. This is in addition to the N100 billion dedicated and already made available for 2013.
The government has also increased to N40 billion as a first installment, funds for the payment of earned allowances to the striking lecturers, an improvement from the N30 billion previously released.
This information is contained in an internal Federal University of Otuoke statement by Professor Bolaji Aluko, its Vice-Chancellor, seen on Wednesday night by SaharaReporters.
On the earned allowances, he explained, “Government will top it up with further releases once universities are through with the disbursement of this new figure of N40 million, so Vice-Chancellors are urged to expedite this disbursement within the shortest possible time using guiding templates that have been sent by the CVC,” the circular said.
Professor Aluko said the development followed meetings on September 19 and Oct 11 of representatives of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, led by CVC Chairman, Prof. Hamisu of ATBU and ASUU Representatives led by its President, Dr. N. Fagge with the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc. Namadi. Sambo, Minister of Education Barr. N. Wike and others.
Of great interest to stakeholders, Vice-President Sambo, appealing to ASUU to call off the strike, apologized for the "take-it-or-leave-it" comments credited to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the onset of the strike. The Minister did not seem to have been involved in either meeting, perhaps as the government’s way of soothing the feelings of the university teachers.
Other points of agreement at the meetings include the following:
*.Project Prioritization: Universities will now be allowed to determine their priorities and not be “rail-roaded” into implementing a pre-determined set of projects with respect to the NEEDS assessment. Decisions are not to be centralized.
*.TETFund Intervention: Government assured that the operations of the TETFund will not be impaired, and that the regular TETFund intervention disbursement to Universities will continue, unaffected. So the NEEDS assessment capital outlays are in addition to regular TETFund intervention.
*.Project Monitoring: A new Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) for the NEEDS Assessment intervention for universities has been set up to take over from the Suswan Committee. The new one is under the Federal Ministry of Education and chaired by the Honorable Minister of Education. In addition, to build confidence and ensure faithful implementation and prevent any relapse as before, the Vice President will meet quarterly with the IMC to monitor progress.
*.Blueprint: ASUU was mandated to submit a blue print for revitalizing the Universities to the Vice President.
Prof. Aluko further stated that a signed document will soon be issued to itemize the full issues on which the consensus he had outlined here, as brokered by AVCNU, was reached.

LiteratureRe: And I Wept.... by MrTAnonymous(op):
"Why don't you ask her out", Kolade said".
"I don't know what she might say,you know she has a boyfriend", I replied.
"You just have to try your luck, who knows she might agree",Na Naija you dey oh.
I had been trying to get my mind clear ever since that night that I met Tolu,I started feeling lovesick because I was not sure if Tolu was lovelorn with me. When I got tired of hiding between the 'lamp' ,I determined to express my feelings.
.
.
.
******
.
.
.
If I'm honest,I mean real honest,it took me a while to hook Tolu. She was so hot,so I had to get myself in a competition that was so had to get past.. I tried talking to her in private but she stuck to her decision that she doesn't want to cheat on her boyfriend.
But everything swung my way at her best friend's birthday. One of her best friend,Chidinma threw us a party for her birthday anniversary. It was at her hostel.
During the night party, Tolu sat on a bench with her friends; "Whats up Tolu, how are you?", I asked, walking to them with my "big boy" walk.
One of her friends,Chidinma looked at me as if I was invisible.
"Hey Joy,Chidinma, hope you gals are feeling good?
"Sure, said Joy as she stood up; Let me go get you some cakes".
"Hey wait for me,Chidinma shouted and followed suit leaving me staring at Tolu's legs.
Oh!,I forgot to tell you about Chidinma and Joy.
Both were Tolu's best friends, they did almost everything together. I didn't really know much about them, but all I can say is that Chidinma liked sweet things, sweet words and probably anything that starts with "sweet",but Joy on the other hand was a more reserved girl, but She was more beautiful than Chidinma. *winks*
When I was sure they had gone, I sat down on a chair beside Tolu.
"Enjoying the party?"
"Yeah",She said with a smile on her face which revealed her beautiful deep dimples".
"How are you enjoying the party when you ain't on the dance floor,"I said knowing fully well how she hated dancing?
She looked at me with a kind of funny face I couldn't explain.
Nobody to dance with,my boyfriend isn't the party-type.
What did you say? I was forced to ask her, although I heard what she said,I couldn't believe she wanted to dance willingly.
"I said I don't have anyone to dance with,my "bf" isn't around.
"Wow,yes.s.ss...,I stammered,I'm in,I'll dance with you,"I almost shouted.
I took her hand and led her to the front of the hostel where the booze was really getting hard.
We danced a bit and sat down to talk.
We talked about school, She told me liked her department. We talked about almost everything that we could "talk" about.
After a while,I said; I think we should go out to talk more because the beat is distracting me.
She smiled; OK,Tunde.
I pulled her up and we started strolling. When we got to a big mango tree,we sat down.
"So,hope your boyfriend won't hit me hard for bringing you here,"I teased her.
She looked up at me and smiled! Oh no,he wouldn't.
I knew she was happy from the way she was behaving, she was happier than usual,I couldn't pick up the reason.
"So,what do you wanna say?,She asked.
The question took me unawares,I managed to pull myself together.
"Tolu,I began; I have always tried to suppress this feelin inside me,but...
"Oh no,Tunde, don't start again,I told you I have a 'bf'.
I wasn't interested in arguing but I was determined to fight to the last breath that night.
''I know,Tolu,I understand but...
But before I could complete the statement,I felt a wet but warm lips on my mouth.....

SportsI Knew I Would Score –emenike by MrTAnonymous(op): 10:40am On Oct 14, 2013
Two-goal hero Emmanuel Emenike says he knew he would get a goal, despite the attention of Ethiopian defenders in the Super Eagles’ 2-1 win over the Walya Antelopes in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
“I was not worried at all even though they were marking me very tight,” Emenike toldKick OffNigeria.com after the game.
“I knew I could score with a shot because my shots are very strong, I just wanted to get the right moment.
“We were not worried. We knew that they would come at us, and we had to save our energy for the second half.”
And with the result secured, Emenike says Brazil is not far off.
“It is not over yet, we still have to play the remaining 90 minutes at home. After that, we can celebrate,” he said.

philfearon: Well, this shows just how little ur faith and trust is,and how ignorant of God you are...I Now conclude that You dont even know God....If u know God,you wont be saying whatever things you are saying here...
You say u are nt after Materialism, but all your statements are Materialistic in nature...Place ur priorities well bro...Know ur priorities!!
I can see you have nothing else to say.
I don't need going online to tell the World why I suddenly turned to an atheist.,why I dumped atheism for christianity,so bro, stop trying to force words out of my mouth.
As I said earlier, christianity is a waste of time, just believe in yourself, work very hard, expect calamities to befall you and the most important thing,
Forget about god...
Simple!!!

Christianity EtcRe: If He Exists, God Is Not Someone I Want To Follow by MrTAnonymous(op): 12:21pm On Oct 13, 2013
philfearon: You dont have a strong Faith in God,thats why with a little obstacle, you are all about saying Your trust in God caused u something...Bro,like i said,if u want to enjoy God,you have to displease yourself...If you think u can please urself and please God,thats a Mistake...
If i go to the bible nw,u wil start attacking me,so i wil use a place of Work 4 example..
For u to be retained in a company's payroll,u must be a worker..For u to be retained longer,u have to be able to displease urself by waking up early everyday and going to work..You wil make sure that u obey every single rule in the company...The longer u stay in this company and work hard,u get increaze in salary, promotion and other incentives...
Now,you are getting all these becuz u are obeying the company's rule and instructions and the likes...But what happens when u dont obey them? You are fired....Your probability of being back is almost equal to zero...
Same with God..The more u stay in God,and obey Him,despite the obstacles, thats the more u grow in knowledge of Him and understand Him more..But unlike the company case, when u stop obeying God,he wil temporarily go out of ur way,but wil be hoping you come back to Him...If u eventually admit ur sin and go back to Him,He welcomes u wit open arms, and then just like in humans, you wil realise just how much u have missed Him in ur life...
..
If u expect that trusting in God means that things will be rosy for u,that means u started off on the wrong note...Many people have died preaching about him..Many were killed, beheaded, cruxified, thrown into burning oil, thrown into burning furnace...Why do u think He allowed them die when He can save them? The thing is,there is nothing here on earth.....Everything here is vanity....You have Asha200 today, tomorrow Asha305 wil come out,and ur interest in Asha200 wil subside...We want to look gud, appear wel and doing b4 family members and society, and all that....You build a house with 10rooms,yet u sleep in one room,in a particular corner of the room...All is vanity....But then,u die,the flesh u are labouring all this earthly things for, will get devoured by terminates within weeks, and none of ur accumulated wealth wil be buried with u.....Whats the gain?....
When u decide to look past this life, thats when u wil start appreciating the Essence of God in ur life!! One luv..
Who said I didn't misplease myself to please himhuh
It seems like this christianity philosophy has sunk deep into your skull?
For a god to prove he is alive,he has to reaffirm hope in followers-but you christians still believe if you have an obstacle, pray and if he doesn't answer, you conclude god's will is the best.
What is god's willhuh
Do you wanna tell me that Oyedepo buying 4 private jets is god's will?
Or Adeboye climbing the pulpit every sunday shouting Halleluyah, whereas paying huge money on luxuries of a jet, where countless of unemployed youth are in his church?
Is that what you call the will of god?

WHAT A gOD!!!
