Disney remake of classic animation “The Lion King” is now the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

The Lion King has left popular animation Frozen biting it’s dust to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time. As at the time of this report, the Disney live-action remake has reportedly grossed 1.33 billion dollars globally, beating Frozen’s 1.27 billion dollars.

The Lion King features the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

James Earl Jones maintains his role from the original film as Mufasa.

Also, the movie came with a beautiful album curated by singer, Beyonce featuring superstar African acts such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade among others.

News reaching Brainnews has it that unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Mr. Ifeanyi Onyenankeya, a popular blogger in Imo State.

The blogger, Onyenankeya is the owner of two popular news blogs, Okigwe Arena and Imo Arena, PUNCH reported.

According to reports, he was reportedly abducted on Monday night at his father’s compound, No. 3, Duru Close, Ekeagbara, Okigwe. a family source said.

The three gunmen who abducted him operated in a Sienna SUV, the source said.

They allegedly beat him before whisking him away. He was said to had resisted them initially.

His relation on social media said, “This young man in the picture is by name Ifeanyi Onyenankeya from Arondizuogu in Okigwe Local Government, a staff of National Examinations Council.

“He is 6.2 ft tall, dark in complexion, slim and a Christian. He is the admin of Okigwe arena/Imo arena on Facebook.

“He was kidnapped in his father’s compound (3, Duru Close, Ekeagbara Okigwe) yesterday 12th August, 2019 between 7 and 8pm by three men wearing masks after being brutally beaten in an attempt to resist Kidnap. These men were said to have come in a Sienna car.

“Any useful information would be appreciated. Call 08035406874 or the nearest Police Station.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed to our Correspondent that some gunmen abducted the blogger.

He, however, said that the Command had yet to confirm if it was a case of kidnap.

The Police spokesperson said that investigation had commenced, with a view to unraveling the circumstances behind the incident.

Ikeokwu said, “Yes, the news is confirmed, but we cannot categorically say it is a case of kidnap or not.

“As we speak, they have not called for any ransom.

“We heard that some gunmen came to the victim’s father’s house in Okigwe and abducted him.

“This happened on Monday night and we heard that they (gunmen) came in a Sienna vehicle.

“But investigation has commenced. We are on top of the situation.”

On Saturday, sixty-four people perished in Tanzania when a fuel tanker overturned and then exploded as crowds of people rushed to syphon off leaking fuel.

The deadly blast, which took place near the town of Morogoro, west of the economic capital Dar es Salaam, is the latest in a series of similar disasters in Africa, according to reports.

“At the moment, there are 64 dead after two of the 72 people who were injured died from their wounds,” the governor of Morogoro, Stephen Kebwe, told reporters at the scene in Msamvu, about 200 kilometres (125 miles) west of Dar es Salaam.

Footage from the scene showed the truck engulfed in fierce flames and huge clouds of black smoke, with charred bodies and the burnt-out remains of motorcycle taxis scattered on the ground among scorched trees.

Regional police chief Wilbrod Mtafungwa described a “huge explosion” and said the dead were mainly drivers of the taxis known as “boda-boda” and locals who flocked to the scene for the fuel.

A video posted on social media showed dozens of people carrying yellow jerricans around the truck. The tragedy has also triggered an outpouring of grief across the country, with President John Magufuli and ordinary citizens sending messages of condolences.

See Moment Man Driving Jeep Ran Over A Bus Driver Following A Traffic Accident (Photos)

The terrifying moment a man driving a jeep ran over a bus driver following a traffic accident in Colombia has been captured with a cellphone.

Fellow motorists driving by the scene recorded the sickening moment José Mauricio Gil Velásquez slowly accelerated and drove over Vargas’ body following an argument between the men. Witnesses shouted at the Gil Velásquez to reverse in order to free the bus driver who was pinned under the wheel.

Vargas was treated by paramedics on site and taken to a local hospital. He didn’t suffer any fractures although he was diagnosed with bruising to his legs.

Gun Violence: Amnesty International Issues Travel Warning For Travelers And Visitors To The U.S.

In the wake of mass shootings in the United States on Saturday where more than 22 were killed, and dozen injured has seen Amnesty International issuing a travel warning for travelers and visitors to the United States, Brainnews report. The Travel Warning was shared on Amnesty International verified Facebook Page.

Below is what Amnesty International wrote;

“Today we issue a travel warning calling for travelers and visitors to the United States to exercise extreme caution and have a contingency plan when travelling throughout the country. This is due to ongoing rampant gun violence in the United States.”

In Kontagora, Niger State young men had their hair forcefully shaved by some men of the state taskforce on Monday, August 5th.

According to Hausa media platform, Rariya, the men were accused of carrying “uncomplimentary” hairdo. The taskforce members used scissors to cut their hair.
