Nigeria's population is basically almost 4 times that of south africa, that means if SA used $10b for feeding with a $5b remnant, Nigeria would use nothing far from $40billion for feeding at same standard market situation leading to budget deficit of over $25billion and nothing left to finance other sectors e.g military, bt yet still Nigeria is economically transparent enough to go in par with SA Defying the great and enormous advantages you have! SA ecomomy is a little higher than Nigeria's all things being equal SA should have been 4 x 50 years ahead of us given that SA has more revenue to carter for a less populace while Nigeria has less revenue to carter for more populace . . . . . .bt no we are in the same boat!!! This was just an example of how Nigerian military should not compare themselves with SA military. Nigeria has a lot to deal with, construction of roads of international standards, sanitation, welfare, etc, other than buying expensive military hardwares which will starve the whole nation. Nigeria is not under Military threat to compete to the rest of the world, let alone the social challenges it faces.

I could ask myself the same question that since SA has a smaller population with state revenues almost double that of Nigeria and still experience some serious welfare issues, how the hell will Nigeria compare themselves with such a Nation. Even when tomorrow Nigeria can surpass the GDP of SA it will still not make the difference because of its population size. This will mean per head, individuals will have less to consume as compared to South Africa who will have better GDP per capita and better salaries.

If there is a need whatsoever that SA requires to expand and transform their military to a formidable force in 5 years, I don't think that will ever be the challenge for SA, since they have such a huge reserves of revenues. Just think of these, not all countries manage to build their citizens houses and still offer them grants and pensions.

This is stupid. We have many manufacturing plants of international Automotive brands, yet you will not see any Chinese, Japanese or American in our plants. Even when it is so it does not mean that the technology and patent rights does not belong to them.

Do you know that Nigerian trained doctors cannot practice right away without going for a bridging course in the US and UK.
