aux409: educating me on what i already knw about! my point, it was only a joke, he apologised. why is everyone creating a monster out of it? why not also take on movie producers that act r-ape in their movies! u all mis-interpreted his joke. did it ever occur to u that his joke culd hv been a better way to pass a message of "be carefull ladies, not all guys are who u think they are" . so thnk u, i dont nid to do the findings, i knw! and i understand. It was a joke in bad taste, Justine Sacco also made a joke , everyone was up in arms about it, I'm sure even you, if you were aware, Senator Cruise also made a comment about Nigerian Yahoo boys and Obama, why didn't we laugh at that? What about the Oga at the Top saga? None of these comments are anywhere as bad as Molestation , which is a crime in and of itself. Basketmouth is a public figure with a Corporate endorsement, he should as of necessity be careful what he jokes with. He owes his corporate sponsors the duty of care and unfortunately, in my mind, maybe he has apologized, but if the sponsors do nothing, it is tantamount to condoning what he said and it makes them look bad too. Also it will be a lesson to others to be careful how they utter comments in public, an ambassador should be discreet and responsible! Nigeria has to veer away from sentimentality and uphold, acceptable values. |
RuuDie: Wonder why nobody is talking about the earlier part of the joke where he paints a scenerio of the woman "incessantly" extorting the man...!? Isn't that where the whole joke started from...That part of the joke is even ridiculous, can a woman extort money or anything from a man he is not willing to give? What was his intention in giving in the first place? Did he make it known to her that the giving was in return for intimacy at some future date? Dating does not necessarily have to lead to intimacy, or even a relationship for that matter. That is just what the warped mind of Nigerian men tell them, that because they have spent money on a lady, they are entitled to intimacy and if she does not give in, then it's their privilege to take it by force! What arant nonsense! Women , teach your sons to respect the right of a woman to say NO! If you want to pay for intimacy please visit a commercial intimacy worker ( even they have rules )! Anything apart from that would be considered a violation of a woman's rights, the body does NOT belong to you, because you spent some money! Dating as defined by Wikipedia - Dating is a form of courtship consisting of social activities done by two people with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as a partner in an intimate relationship or as a spouse. While the term has several meanings, it usually refers to the act of meeting and engaging in some mutually agreed upon social activity in public, together, as a couple. The protocols and practices of dating, and the terms used to describe it, vary considerably from country to country. The most common idea is two people trying out a relationship and exploring whether they are compatible by going out together in public as a couple who may or may not yet be having sexual relations. This period of courtship is sometimes seen as a precursor to engagement or marriage.[1][2] |
aux409: one question: are u a victim of R..PE?Does one have to be a victim of rape to empathize with rape victims? every single woman , from the time she understands what it means to be a woman is in constant mortal fear of being Raped! It is the one thing women fear above all else, many would rather die than be raped! Have that discussion with any female in your vicinity ! Armed robbers, strangers , husbands boyfriends , male siblings , cousins, drivers , cooks , gate men , soldiers during war, etc the list is endless! Every single woman is a Target and has in one way or another been molested by a male, sadly to say even female children as young as 6 months have been sexually molested by men. If u think my statistics are wrong, visit a police station one day and ask, ask google if u can't be bothered to do that, and furthermore , have a candid conversation with any woman folk near you! As I type this a woman somewhere is being raped! It is that bad! |
Snoggy: It's called common sense! No he didn't Just want them off his back ! I assure you, that Glo is discussing this issue as we speak! Even in Nigeria there is something called corporate responsibility! |
vcvibes: Ah hope u get anally rapedI doubt you are an adult, and if you are , I doubt you are a parent! Your Utterly brainless comment may live to haunt you! |
All you Basket Mouth supporters and those saying there is nothing wrong with the joke, why then did Basket mouth apologize? Cos he is smarter than all of you mumu's and understands what is at stake! You wouldn't know cos I guess your all jobless, so you don't realize what it means to protect your reputation at all costs, fortunately basket mouth is more mature and focused than you are! |
kokoA: sharap! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the joke. I bet if he had cracked a joke making fun of albinos you'd laugh your whole teeth out. Tell me, which is worse? Stop this hypocrisy. My dear kokoA, whether you like what I say or not, with that stupid joke, Basketmouth put his foot in his mouth. Your childish protestations make no difference whatsoever, he messed up big time! He understands it, unfortunately, you don't! Too bad, I don't know where you work or maybe you don't, but, go and read up on corporate representation, eg the case of Festus Odumegu , Nigerian Breweries and the unpopular third term agenda! Maybe then ur small mind will understand why Glo should as a matter of urgency disassociate itself from Basketmouths tasteless joke! |
kokoA: Dem dey craze all.. Nice joke jare. American comedians say worse things. Africans and sabi sabi.. Nonsense.Read the tweets, 99% of the outraged ones are from white people! both men and women! Africans don't even begin to understand why the joke is so wrong! SMH |
sucess001: Pls wat exactly is distasteful about d joke?Ask Glo, or if they have no reasonable answer, ask Google, they will definitely tell you! |
Africans and their biased mentality.. ![]() there is no need to be sentimental about a joke from a renown joker.. ![]() Dis joke is hilarious in my view
Really? Have you ever been raped? Or anyone you know? What is hilarious about it?? Have you asked your mother, sisters, female cousins or lady friends if it's funny? Or maybe anyone who may have been raped? Can you ask them then get back to us and tell us how funny they think it is?? Untill you do that and collect the data, do not tell anyone who is not finding it funny, how sentimental they are being! |
Justeenaleo: Rats gon rat, snakes gon hiss, haters gon hate,it was just a harmless joke,e be like say dey don dey wait for am since make him do one mistake, see attack, and dey wr targeting his contract, ppl sha smhGlo needs to terminate his contract, because like Justine Sacco , who represented IAC and made a tasteless joke about going to South Africa and contacting AID's, he is an ambassador for a brand and since he does not take his role as an ambassador seriously , glo needs to dissacociate themselves from his small minded distasteful jokes as soon as possible! If you don't know who Justine Sacco is , please ask Google! |
Mr Aboki: So how would the manager incrase his monthly pay by working in the hotel?! Tips or what?!Many Nigerian graduates have no initiative whatsoever! I'm shocked at some of the replies here! First of all accommodation and transport take up the largest chunk of your salary, this is taken care of, the next is feeding, also taken care of. As a lady said he can make more than his salary if he works smart, every hotel is a potential promotions and event centre. Every drinks company is looking for where to do branding and promo's no matter how rural, as long as people are there. Don't they have weddings? Night joints nko, fish , Suya ,pepper soup. He doesn't need to be dishonest, doesn't need to touch what belongs to the hotel owner, but every job has it's perks especially when it comes to events. You make a job like this great or terrible,it's up to you! Use your head! |
For those saying that the bank has no responsibility as long as the person has not deposited the cash, that is not true, the bank owes the customers a duty of care within their Banking hall as the customer came to conduct business with them. As for verifying how much the customer had in his possession, proper investigations will be done to determine the probability of the customer having such money's . Many Nigerians don't know their rights and that is why they walk away from such issues. Banks have insurance to cover such matters, and as Legit said such a case , especially in issues of death or injury, would hardly ever go to court, the bank will settle. I doubt anyone would embark on a law suit with a bank frivolously. |
Has anyone signed up for Obamacare? |
I wonder why you people on this thread are up in arms? If Adebayo is bothered by Koo's rant, why doesn't he sue her for defamation of character? Or is there any truth in what she says? |
Bossforeva: That's not popular in Nigeria, tis only popular in Crime Channel of DSTv. Anyway i've read of major crimes in the world, including how Versace was murdered so i dnt think tis heard of in Nigeria. Is that what you think, or what you know for sure? FYI , There are many serial killers in Nigeria, some may be less sophisticated than what you see on dstv , but there are serial killers nevertheless . Eg Clifford Orji. Another reason , is that many of these killings are not reported, Nigeria is a huge Dustbin, corpses can be thrown away and never be found, and the inefficiency of the police system. Also, until recently, not much that goes on in Nigeria is actually documented or reported as news, even now, What we see is possibly about one hundredth of the news worthy issues in this country. Even in America, do u think everything is reported? |
247cheapgadgets: JESUS TURNED WATER INTO NON-ALCOHOLIC WINE OOOYou people should not commit sin o...Was there anything like "Non- Alcoholic" wine in those days?? I seriously doubt it, that's why it was watered down, get your facts right! |
portable31: Well said Naira. One need to be careful! Just saw this thread a couple of minutes ago and I can't believe that I know these people. I'll be asking him to take the pictures down.Meaning? If Nigerians were so powerful as you seem to think, why the heck are we living the way we are? Careful about what? What can anyone do to him or his wife or baby? Gosh, pls must everyone comment, can't anything be innocent and light hearted and enjoyable? Biko move on if u don't like the post, not everyone is immersed in negative superstition or suspicions, it was a most enjoyable , pleasant thread, don't make it out to be anything else! |
So a killers excuse is that the man was gay, and he killed him in self defense and you BELEIVE him? This muscular guy? Maybe the other guy was the Incredible Hulk ! It's a Criminals word against that of a dead man, after all dead men can't defend themselves, so of course with all the homophobia in Nigeria, that's a great defense ! Pleaaaase! Tomorrow, a young muscular man kills an 85 year old grandma and he tells us she was the one who attacked him first,so he killed her in self defense! yeah right!! Once a criminal , always a criminal. |
Too cute, congratulations once again, sweet family! Enjoy!! Thanks for carrying us along on this magical journey, makes one appreciate the joys and sweetness of life again! Awesome! My best time on NAIRALAND ever ![]() |
is there a particular reason why we must follow your wife's delivery when you could as well just post the whole thing on youtube? i mean, i dont know you from adam and neither do I particularly want to know every single detail of the labour. Just pray for her and assist her when necessary, i think that's more important than blow by blow accounts of someone who is a stranger to most of us here. just my opinion, no offence.
I don't get you, your comment is offensive, because you didn't have to comment, just pass and let those who are enjoying it keep doing so. if this is what he wants to do, that's his business, you didn't have to comment!! Just my opinion , no offence either! |
