You may know the owner and quite familiar with his maintenance habit. When I bought a new car a few years back, a guy who knew me kept begging that I sell the old one to him because he knew how I had been taking good care of the car. |

PeaceJoyLove: A don talk am. Lagos will die there. The brain that Asiwaju (Jagaban) and Prof Osinabjo used to box OBJ to corner when he was the president legally with law to collect taxes is still there. I am telling you, since Lagos has joined Wike, FG has lost VAT. Forget it. Lagos will die there cos they know how much they are making from taxes. Oh! All VAT from Tin Can Island, and Muritala Muhammed Airport.... Yee Paaaa! Lagos don win lotto. Jagaban and his warrior will die there. All VAT from oil companies for River alone...jack pot....lol. Dem no send Buhari and Abuja. If this will break the little friendship remaining btw Buhari and Jagaban, I know Tinubu will not send. All other SW states have joined. Dem no send Buhari. I keep saying it that SW is the fore runner of this Nigeria. Only that Igbo should wake up too. Igbo Kwenu. Let's go there. E no go better for anyone wey say Naija no go get better. Let's go. Are you serious?Tin can, MM airport and other key federal establishments pay Vat to Lagos govt? That won't ever happen - and Lagos govt can nothing about it. All this VAT noise is just dancing to the gallery ahead of 2023 election. Hahahaha, Wike for president! Truth is, central collection of Vat is even more cost effective. The only issue is distribution formula- 20% allocated to contribution and whopping 50% to equality. Without resorting to dishing out stupendous bribes to corrupt judges for favourable judgement, sanity should prevail by reviewing the distribution formula, giving more priority to contribution. Simple as ABC! |

richmond500: As a Rivers man, this VAT sweet me but is the common man going to gain anything?
People have been begging Wike to pay pensions, he has been deaf to their request and punishing Rivers people. Now to collect money, he is at the forefront. The common shop seller who doesn't know VAT, will be tormented by Wike's tout from now on, I like this VAT ruling but Wike's not doing this for the state, he is just being selfish. God bless you. I have said it before that more revenue does not necessarily translate to better service delivery. Imagine, Wike is wasting hundreds of millions all over the place but is refusing to pay pension and gratuities to elderly people who served the state all their youthful years and are now helpless! On VAT, many people are being misled into thinking only northern states will suffer if central collection by FIRS is stopped. But that's far from the truth. FG will immediately rake in over 50% of the present collection by taking all of collection on imports. At present there is only one percentage point difference between rivers(6%) and kano (5%) contribution to Vat collection. Kano, kaduna and fct contribution is more than that of SE states combined. Wike is just dancing to the gallery. |

ISLAMOPHOBES. The mods have fallen to the propaganda against Afghanistan. Fact is, Taliban muslims have inflicted a crushing humiliating defeat on western Christian forces led by the Americans. The only thing left for the humiliated crusaders is try to undermine the gallant forces that chased them out of their beloved islamic homeland so disgracefully. For 20 years Afghanistan was held captive by disguised missionaries, but the people didn't fall to the false propaganda of the crusaders. Moral of Taliban victory: 1) Light will always overcome darkness. 2) Even if a lie had been travelling for 20 years truth will catch up with it one day. |

why do people come to nairaland to exhibit utter idiocy. Americans arrested Ksm as the mastermind of the 9/11 attack. Under the law he is absolutely innocent until convicted. Now, Ksm has been held by the Americans for 20 years allegedly being tortured and has never been tried. Yet stewpid people come here to call him names. May God save his servant Khalifa Sheikh Mohammed from the hands of his tormentors, most of them claiming to be Christians. Who said aboki can't think when put under pressure? Kudos to Wike. Ipob miscreants always exhibit ignorance - kano and kaduna states contribute more to Vat collection than SE states combined. BTW, there's only one percentage point difference between rivers(6%) and kano (5%) Vat contributions. The issue with Vat in Nigeria is not the centralized collection by FIRS, but the formular used in distribution - states like Lagos, kano, Rivers, fct who represents 87% of collection ought to get a fairer share. |
