Christianity EtcRe: Technological Innovation Is It Through Withcraft by Mudley313: 8:29pm On Nov 10, 2010
ROSSIKE:
We know that most of the west's major institutions spanning business, media, religion, industry and education are subliminally infused with the occult.

The Illuminati all-seeing eye, and allusions to Greek mythological figures are recurring decimals in much of their occult symbolism.

Many believe this is where they derive their power, from harnessing these energies, while keeping the sheeple in the dark, deceived and distracted by their controlled media, 'religion', fake 'education' system, sports, etc etc.

I actually read somewhere that huge sports events like the Olympics and the World Cup are in reality huge sun worshipping rituals/festivals, with 'football' and 'sport' merely the front used to elicit public participation and consent. Consent being a necessary requirement for the ritual. Needless to add, the cup itself used as the ''world cup'' is a chalice pepperred with imagery from Greek 'pagan' mythology, just like the Olympic torch and medals.

The energy harnessed by human participation in these rituals empowers those that create them.
in the US people who believe such balderdash are called conspiracy nut-jobs. the overt paranoia and belief in the most absurd of theories by these nut-cases is unrivaled by even those who believe in talking snakes and donkeys
Christianity EtcAtheist Pastors Leading The Faithfuls by Mudley313(op): 10:08am On Nov 10, 2010
These poor pastors endless pursuit into Christian divinity eventually shattered their faith, now they haven't figured out how to transition their way out of the church without being persecuted by the clergy and or ostracized by their family; or even still they don't have an alternative plan to earn cash and make a decent living that doesn't involve the church.

tough break

I am an atheist," says "Jack," a Southern Baptist with more than 20 years in ministry.

"I live out my life as if there is no God," says "Adam," who is part of the pastoral staff of a small evangelical church in the Bible Belt.

The two, who asked that their real identities be protected, are pastors who have lost their faith. And these two men, who have built their careers and lives around faith, say they now feel trapped, living a lie.

"I spent the majority of my life believing and pursuing this religious faith, Christianity," Jack said. "And to get to this point in my life, I just don't feel like I believe anymore."

"The more I read the Bible, the more questions I had," Jack said. "The more things didn't make sense to me -- what it said -- and the more things didn't add up."

Jack said that 10 years ago, he started to feel his faith slipping away. He grew bothered by inconsistencies regarding the last days of Jesus' life, what he described as the improbability of stories like "Noah's Ark" and by attitudes expressed in the Bible regarding women and their place in the world.

"Reading the Bible is what led me not to believe in God," he said.

He said it was difficult to continue to work in ministry. "I just look at it as a job and do what I'm supposed to do," he said. "I've done it for years."

Adam said his initial doubts about God came as he read the work of the so-called New Atheists -- popular authors like the prominent scientist Richard Dawkins. He said the research was intended to help him defend his faith.

"My thinking was that God is big enough to handle any questions that I can come up with," he said but that did not happen.

"I realized that everything I'd been taught to believe was sort of sheltered," Adam said, "and never really looked at secular teaching or other philosophies. ,  I thought, 'Oh my gosh. Am I believing the wrong things? Have I spent my entire life and my career promoting something that is not true?'"

Christianity EtcRe: Atheism Is A Religion by Mudley313: 11:26pm On Nov 09, 2010
if atheism is a religion then not playing basketball is a sport

i wonder what the obsession with labeling atheism a religion (especially by those of the christian faith) is all about. its like they really feel insecure bout their own beliefs. it's as if they're saying, "you atheists think you're so rational, but really your beliefs are just baseless as our- wait! that's not what I meant. I was trying to say that atheism has just as little evidence as Christia- no that's not coming out right, "

it definitely is not and, just as thehomer stated above, neither is theism. they are only religious positions. it would take elaborations of those positions, including traditions and dogmas, to describe a person's religion. it's essentially the same as "voter" and "non-voter" not describing someone's political affiliation. one may as well argue over which brand of car pedestrians drive.

Atheism is in fact a lack of religion (even the so-called militant atheism people like jesoul arbitrarily attempt to drag into the sphere of being a religion can best be termed anti-religion)

incase you haven't noticed, i've long since cut to the chase. you asked a simple question: is god evil? and it's either you just wanna be plain stubborn or too blind by your delusions to deduce from my posts that my answer has been an equivocal "YES". It's you who needs to quit beating around the bush and come to terms with the unquestionable evilness of your god

*1 >>> same goes for you. people invariably find their own answers to suit their own belief systems. >>> How subjective truth can be.

*2 >>> what evil implies is always redefined. I previously stated how ambiguous (the concept of) evil is, stating as proof the fact that evil changes in relation to zeitgeists.

*3 >>> If there is no God. Or the idea of God is a farce. What then ULTIMATELY constitutes reality
quit dancing around the actual subject matter like you're talking to kindergarten children on here. evil is evil. in the context of the english language we all know what evil is. stop trying to redefine evil as it suits your warped religious objectives

hitler was evil for gassing 6 million jews and all the other numerous WWII atrocities he perpetrated; only an ardent racist neo-nazi will disagree. the 9/11 terrorists are evil for flying a plane into skyscrapers and murdering thousands in the process; only an islamic fundamentalist thinks otherwise. your god (as depicted in the OT) is the epitome of evil; only a deluded christian fanatic will see it otherwise as you're trying to do here

when it comes to the devil for you guys evil is no longer subjective even though his perceived evil deeds far dwarfs that of your all loving god, as recorded in your bible book of jewish myths. he's resume in comparison to the all evil devil speaks for itself

"anonymous ancient illiterate jewish nomads"? Empty meaningless words. Just as Shakespeare wrote: ". . .a tale told by an idi*t- -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Smh @ poor muddled Mudley. Ever so predictable. Didn't I say that lacking answers, you would retreat into your usual bombast? grin

Or are you simply too intellectually lazy to follow the leads that have been given you?
you're the one here retreating into unnecessary abusive jabs and bombast in the guise of being an intellectual wanna-be. i don't need wikipedia to know that most of the writers of the bible are anonymous and most of the bible stories were actually passed through word of mouth before being penned down generations later. it's clearly evident from the atrocity riddled conduct of your god, especially in the old testament, that he/she/it was the invention of a people, of lesser understanding of the world around them, fraught with savagery and barbarity. so i reiterate, "the atrocious idea of your savage jewish god was concocted by ancient illiterate jewish nomads". he/she/it (your imaginary god) actually "acted according to their expectations" causing utter mayhem, unrivaled by the devil himself, in the cause of showing favoritism to these self proclaimed chosen people. hiding under the guise of a smartass and quoting all the shakespeare you know don't make you any less retarded for believing in such a savage, biased and vain glorious entity that is the bible god

From Jenwitemi:
Let me buttress this with something extracted from a book I read sometime ago. God wants you dead by Sean Hastings and Paul Rosberg.

Why should it be automatic that, just because a higher being created the universe, that you should worship him? OK, so you are told that GOD is bigger, more powerful, and more knowledgeable. But there are people right here on Earth that are bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter than you. You don't automatically worship them. You don't consider yourself to be obligated to do their bidding, and to serve their interests. Why should a god or GOD be any different?
Why would anyone ever assume that GOD would want you to do everything he said? It’s all supposed to be about free will right? GOD would want you to use that brain he put in your head. He would want you to make your own mistakes and learn from them. Maybe when you do bad things, it really does make the baby Jesus cry. But he is probably crying more about the people who always do what they are told without question. It is
this blind obedience without thought that causes most of the horrible poo that happens in the world.
If GOD exists, he doesn't want you to worship him. He is confident enough in his omnipotence not to need that kind of ego boost. He is certainly going to be pissed off if you don’tthink for yourself and choose to have someone else tell you what to do. He gave you that brain and he wants you to use it!
And if you are one of those people that have a need to tell other people what they can and cannot do, stop it! Don’t try to prevent other people from exercising the Free Will GOD gave them, he would want them to come to the right decisions because they figure it out for themselves, not because you prevented them from doing the things that you think are wrong. Find a better place to get your self-esteem from than controlling others.

Christianity EtcRe: Atheism Is A Religion by Mudley313: 6:40pm On Nov 06, 2010
Uyi Iredia:
Religion finds its origins in the Latin word religare which means "to bind together". Time and Time again in the religion debate atheists seek to distance themselves from religion and religious connotations. But nothing could be further from the truth- Atheism is a religion. My critique of the 'new' definition of Atheism on Wikipedia should suffice as proof

"Atheism, in a broad sense, is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities."

*1 >>> Given that this is true, and that Atheism needs be expressed in terms of a belief (viz-a-viz the rejection of a belief). Then Atheism itself is a belief, and consequentially could be categorized as a religion; moreso, given the rise and spread of militant Atheism at this turn of the century. Atheism has lost its brand of 'meekness' exemplified by greats such as Paul Satre, Bertrand Russell.

Therefore, Atheism can be defined as: " a belief in the rejection of all belief(s) in deities".

*2 >>> Making a dichotomy of faith and reason amounts to the second volte by atheists to escape being branded as a religion. The fact that atheists have different stances on multifarious issues shows how subjective atheism can be.To further prove Atheism as a religion (albeit inchoate), it is necessary to remonstrate the subtle use of faith by atheists by :

their faith in the improbability of deity/deities whose existence is/are open to possibility
their faith in a vague explanation of man's origins which is primarily predicated on materialist philosophy
their faith in the validity of a "lack of belief in" which isn't absolute (by absolute I mean self-evident to all humans)

to be continued

I think you know the answers to your own questions (although i see your lame attempt in trying to shift the goal post by redefining what evil implies as it suits your imaginary god). And please give me evidents that what Vedaxcool worships is IMAGINARY and it is an it is an ARABIC deity, while others have a different deity and there is a savage arabian peadophile masquerading as a prohet? If you cant provide cogent proofs, it is better to not make accusations.
even though you also came at me with the usual vitriolics of name callings usually employed by supposedly religious folks on here, i'll take my time out to provide proof of my earlier assertions just cos you were a tid-bit more civil than that goat roymary, even though like anyone brainwashed by obviously absurd religious dogmas, you still may see it otherwise. okay, here you go:

-your god allah is imaginary because (like every other imaginary gods) it only exist in the pages of your worthless religious text and in the minds of it's deluded followers. proove me wrong

-your deity is arabian (or of arabian origin) because it was concocted in the mind of an arabian peadophile, first worshiped by ancient arabians (before they decided to spread it outside of arabia through force and terror) that's why its words (purportedly written by the deluded peadophile prophet) is in arabic. just like yahweh has it's origins with the jews, zeus with the greeks or olodumare with the yorubas. if you know the stories of each of these aforementioned likewise imaginary deities, you'd know they aint at all one and the same. unless, you're not only deluded but mentally imbalanced as well

-on muhammad being a peadophile:

Sahih Bukhari vol. 7, 65:
“Narrated Aisha that the prophet wrote the marriage contract with her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: “I have been informed that Aisha remained with the
prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death).”"
if banging a 9 year old does not constitute peadophila to you then i'm worried for your neighbours children

And snce you think Quran which you write as Koran is gutter, you may have to eat your words under it,if you can show me how it is gutter, when through it many people become "very clean and hygienic".
oh please, save all that for your fellow deluded morons. your gutter koran inspired those who perpetrated the dastardly acts of 9/11, the senseless massacres in northern nigeria and countless other better-not-to-be-mentioned acts of savagery and incomprehensible brutality throughout history and across the globe. gutter is even too nice of a word to use in describing that despicable book you call the koran

@ alethea. . .so, according to the twisted christian apologetic bullcrap you just typed up there, this is all like a movie script preplanned and preconceived by your all knowing god. from creating the devil, knowing damn well he's going to rebel against his despotic azz and in turn be the cause of all of humanity's problems, to the unnecessary wiping of the worlds population with a flood (which still didn't eliminate evil), to the rigors of sending his son/himself to go through some sick and twisted ritual of torture and death and blood sacrifice (which still didn't do jack in the elimination of evil)

If there really existed the mythical tree of knowledge in the garden of eden or a mythical angel called lucifer and god knew of the consequences of eating from the tree or creating this devil in the first place, he damn sure knew of evil and he damn sure could have prevented it. AND, if he IS omniscient he knew what was going to become of the world in the future - a whole lot of evil. But what do you expect from a twisted and sick minded egotistical, deceiving, bloodthirsty, unforgiving, jealous, chauvinistic god.

Tower of Babel, was conceptual-bliss. God used it in a few ways, I think, primarily to smote those who had nerve to lose faith and to question his presence with the audacity to think they could build a tower, reaching him.

think about it. . .he could have very well let them continue to build until they reached a height where they couldn't breath properly, featuring an unstable tower that God's laws of physics would've soon caused to fall and injure or killed many humans. . .not including those who had already died (meaninglessly) building it, up to the point.

But God did something much greater, instead, he used that Tower-incident to create, nationalities. Languages. Beauty-in-Tongues.

Isn't our God, a great God?!!!

https://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt69/hollow_shinji312/sarcasm_1.jpg

seriously tho, people built something very high. It collapsed, they believed it was god who collapsed it (that is, assuming this particular babel story even ever occurred).history has documented cases of statues or buildings crumbling due to faulty engineering (even ships sinking, ala titanic) being placed in the "The Gods must be upset with us" category. Tower of babel has to be one of the better fairytale stories of the bible yet stupid in its own way. It tries to explain that all languages were the same at the time which is foolish

atleast, yahweh and his arabian counterpart allah got sumthing in common here; crashing down buildings 9/11 style
