I am still your plug; if you are interested in birthing in Ontario, I can help. I do help people who come to birth in Canada, as I have a house in Mississauga, Ontario, close to Toronto Pearson Airport. You can give me a call or WhatsApp message at +14377884353. We do mostly Doctor's appointments (pre- and post-delivery), accommodation assistance, hospital appointments, baby documentation, and visas on arrival for return. Omugwo services (especially a baby's first bath) are also available.

Hi,
My girlfriend is about 4 weeks pregnant and i want her to have the child in Canada.
What are the best options and part to take please.
As it is our 1st child is it possible for her mum to accompany her to Canada as we have zero idea on how to nurse the baby, what type of visa should she and her mum apply for?
Will she have issues at POE?
I will accompany them or meet them there, im British so i do not require a visa and if i fly with them from nigeria sef they might separate me from she and her mum.
Please help.

Even arriveCan is not compulsory. You can register on the self service machine when you come. A lot of people I met did not do it till they landed Toronto and did the self service there. No covid 19 and no one also asked for yellow fever card via ET
aestake:
@MummyDsquare, welcome. So only ArriveCan is in place now? No COVID -19 from Lagos to YYZ right?

LANDING GIST!!!
My people,
I promised I was going to drop my landing gist because I got valuable help from this group while on this journey and I do not take it for granted. I left via Lagos on Ethiopian airlines, 17th November, 2022. Travelled with hubby as it is just two of us (The Dsquare na the name of my unborn twins and since they have refused to come in Naija, I’m sure they have been waiting for me to make this move so they can come as Canadians lmao )

My mum, mother inlove and siblings all followed me to the airport. The drive to the airport was smooth and the flight was scheduled to depart by 1:40pm but two days earlier, it was moved forward to 1:20pm we started checking in at about that time. We left home at 7am and got to the airport before 9am and checked in. Agric took one Ziploc of my dried fish saying that they saw fish ants in it and that Canadian police will call their head office if they found it on us (yen yen yen) We left it for them and then one hustler came to meet us to help us with weighing our bags (beware there are many of them at that MM airport international wing). I told hubby make we ignore the guy but he said lets hear what he has to say. He charged us 50k so he could help us with our extra luggage at the ET counter. We burst out laughing and told him we won’t pay. When we got to the ET queue, the guys there charged is 40k, (we had 2 boxes 23kg and 24kg respectively, then 2 GMG bags both 27kg then our hand luggage were both 12kg each because we overpacked them lol) hubby was even willing to give them 20k but they started saying they won’t collect and acting like they helped us make the money so hubby asked my brother to get an empty GMG bag he brought from home and he removed items from both boxes bring them to 23kg each and then we didn’t pay anything at all. My MIL will help us bring the items in January as she lives in Canada too. When we got to the counter, the attendant was so nice and didn’t complain about the hand luggage as they were both meant to be 7kg each. She let us pass and we gave her small money. Every other stop was a breeze though from then on, at any stop, they kept asking for money down till it was time to board. It was as if they believe you won’t need the cash so they want you to finish it before you leave. I had frozen palm kernel oil in my luggage but I wrapped the bottle well with newspapers and put in Ziploc then hid with sweat clothes so they were not found.

We landed Addis Ababa at 9 something PM and proceeded for our next flight. Before we could use the washrooms and get to the next boarding gate it was already time to board. We left Addis at 11pm and had a quick stop for refueling at Dublin then arrived Toronto Pearson at 7:50 am.
Pro tip: If you use an iPhone 12/13 or anyphone that has that funny head (not the USB regular port enabled) you might want to get a magsafe charger or the regular cable that has that regular USB enabled port so you can charge your phone on the plane.

The food on the plane was not so bad and as soon as we came down from the flight I followed the signs and quickly rushed down to arrivals, We already did the ARRIVE CAN online before leaving Naija so the self service machine was a breeze. Please obey all the instructions you’re given and kindly ask questions on things you don’t understand.
One CBSA officer was quite harsh to the Indians before us (90% of those on the immigration queue were Indians btw) and we were praying she won’t be the one to attend to us but alas when it was our turn, her counter was free. She was nice to us sha, She then proceeds to ask for our international passports, asked if we were married and for how long we answered, asked our address and said our PR cards will be sent there. Asked if we had goods to follow and we said yes because we cargoed a lot of items. Then she said Welcome to Canada and directs us to customs to check in our goods to follow. We proceeded to customs and listed the goods we are expecting and they gave us a receipt with zero duty payment and told us the area we could pick them when they arrive.

My husband’s sister lives here so her hubby was already waiting for us and as soon as we left the airport doors, the cold hit us with dirty slaps on our faces and there was snow everywhere. We got home and ate and rested. Now we have gotten our sim cards, health cards, opened our accounts too. In case you are coming to any of the GTA towns in Ontario, you can holla!

Thank you so much to everyone who had contributed to my journey by relentlessly answering my questions.
I’ll be resuming at Humber college this coming January and I have started a work from Home IT job Hubby resumes Sheridan as he wants to take some nursing courses. Make sure you are prepared for the cold because even when the sun is up, cold still dey for Canada but thank God for warm clothing and heaters. All the best guys! :*

Hello my people!!! i'm finally awaiting PPR (Vancouver please be nice to me smiley ) Thing is that my passport expires in February. I was honestly thinking i'd have gotten PPR and left before it is less than 6 months validity. However, I applied for a new one and got capture date for 5th Oct.

1. Please can anyone help me with any contact or location where I can capture and get it asap so I can send quickly to my VO (who knows it might expedite my PPR lol grin )

2. If I get PPR now I am ready to leave Asap and if I send to Kenya, will they stamp for me?
3. If you have any other advise for me pleaseeeeee epp me.

Thank you and God bless. @Dimple10, so sad I missed your PPR announcement but I have gone back to read up. Thank you so much for all you do here. May the Maple land favour you.

@GraciousWords, @PrettiePearls, @ednut_1, God bless you guys and everyone doing the Lord's work here.

If IOM has sent the result i wouldn't worry too much becuase they would have requested he do a follow up test before sending.

Thank You MrPein! I called the nurse that sent the report immediately and she said it is nothing to worry about. I just wanted to know if there are other people with any parameter "Abnormal" that still got medical passed. I really appreciate your response. God bless you.
MrPein:

Hi. Your worry is valid but know that IOM will always inform applicants of any serious issues that can lead to a failed medical from IRCC and would advise the applicant if to do additional tests or not.
My advise is to call or visit IOM to clarify on the "Abnormal" parameter. It may be nothing but at least just for rest of mind.

Thank you so much. It's the same thing the doctor said for his second opinion test at a different facility. I appreciate. IOM said they have already sent the result.
legionISproteus:
He may be required to undergo further medical tests at IOM based on the doctor's assessment. If everything is normal, he will be informed. Sometimes people experience transient Creatinine elevation, but IOM has to be sure he has no underlying medical condition before they submit a final report.

Dear House please I need to understand something. Please is there anyone who has received their medical reports from IOM and any of the result parameters showed "Abnormal" ? Does it affect anything or will it affect one getting their medicals passed? IOM said they had sent our report and forwarded a copy to us and everything on my report shows normal but my spouse's Serum Creatinine shows "Abnormal" the figure there was 71ml .... He has gone for another follow up serum creatinine test on his own and was told with his results that his level is normal. With that out of the way, please I want to know if there's anyone who has had any parameter "Abnormal" and still got medicals passed since its neither syphilis nor tuberculosis or mental illness. Abeg someone help with an answer so I can get clarity. thank you and God bless.

Exactly. Because my surname on my BSC and the one on my BCS aren't the same. So I submitted an affidavit of one and the same person stating that my full name before marriage and full name after marriage belong to one and the same person and also submitted my marriage certificate and newspaper publication. That way, I know that I have proven beyond reasonable doubt that my name changed legally as a result of marriage. I have passed OINP and I have also submitted my application to IRCC. So just go ahead and do it. all the best dear.
icehot:

I understand why you are worried, but it is nothing really. You are just the one thinking that they will think you are trying to revert your name. If you got married after school, I truly see no issue there.

But in order to be sure and have peace of mind, you should do an affidavit like mummyDsquare suggested, and include it in your letter of explanation after you get ITA, and preparing to submit.

I think that an affidavit of one and the same person stating that you with surnames Mango, Orange and Mango-Orange is one and the same person should suffice.
LearnerForLife:
Thank you very much for the response.

I was asking because I intend to create my EE profile with the surname on my passport - Orange, and when the time comes for me to quote my ECA file number in the process of completing the EE profile, and I quote the number (which would reveal records with a surname different from the one I used in creating the EE profile) won't that spell doom for me?

I have never created an EE profile before. It's just what I read here and on IRCC's website.

Because I reached out to IQAS and they were giving me generic responses.

If I provide marriage certificate which shows that I am married to Mr. Orange and that that was why I used Mango-Orange in applying to IQAS, won't it now be suspicious that I want to revert to my maiden name of Mango even though I am still married to Mr. Orange?

Moben Jackson my guy!!!! You are an amazing writer. I relived your experience just by reading it. Thank God for a safe trip, May the Maple land favour you.

mobenjackson:
Album title: Sounds from the North side (Landing gist)

Artiste: Moben Jackson

Featuring: Family members, Uber, MMIA (Muritala Muhammed International Airport), Customs officers, NDLEA, Agric officers, ET (Ethiopian airlines) desk, AABIA (Addis Ababa Bole International Airport), DIAI (Dublin International Airport, Ireland), TPIA-T1 (Toronto Pearson International Airport -Terminal 1, also known as YYZ), AirCanada, YEG (Edmonton International Airport) and flights ET900, ET552 and AC169.

Executive producer: Moben Jackson

Album length: 33hours

Track 1: MMIA (Leaving the trenches) - Woke up and freshened up, booked uber to the airport alongside loved ones. We arrived past 9am even though my flight was for 1.20pm, we heard that the earlier, the better as you will be more settled b4 u fly, so we followed advice. Got a trolley guy to push the load, paid him 1,500 at the entrance where all begi begi started. I paid 500 per head for loved ones to enter into the airport with me, which also totalled 1,500. I loaded my baggage on the conveyor at the entrance, ut rolled over to the other side of the entrance and was searched by NDLEA guys, nothing was found and so i was left to roll my trolley over to agric officers. My brother who has done 2 airport runs within the last 6 months knew who and where to sort. He saw the officer beckoning on us to get to the agric stand and asked me to see the man, i followed him like a baby bonding to his mom and after jokes made between us, i shook his hands with yet another batch of 1,500 again. And there goes me jumping agric to queue on ET baggage weight line.

I weighed my bags, 32kg and 23kg respectively and these weightwere tagged on each baggage. I also had to celo-wrap my bags at that stand for 3,000 (1,500 per bag - standard fee). I got payment advice from one of the guys doing the weighing. He basically asked for name, final destination, how many bags to be upgraded, airline I'm flying with. I scanned my passport, arrivecan paper and vax card with a lady at the ET desk and she asked that i do copies of my data page. To upgrade my bag, i went upstairs to make payment, i upgraded one bag from 23kg to 32kg at the rate of 28k (they only accept cash or card payments, not transfer). I was issued 2 receipt and my copy of POS reciept. I went back to the lady to give her the copy of my data page as she requested. Then on another line to tag carry on/hand luggage (make sure y'all do this. It is important). No need to tag your backpack or school bag. There i was told to weigh both my bags (23 & 32), unfortunately it totalled 56kg instead of 55kg, i had to remove 1pack of milo & sugar to make it 55.8kg, the lady wanted to ask me to reduce again, but i gave her a very stern look and she understood the assignment and let my people (bags) go onto the conveyor belt which happens to be the last time you'll see your load until YYZ.

Once u done all that, y'all can now take as many pix and videos as una like. By 12pm, we bid our goodbyes and i headed straight for immigration checks, i collected a yellow card which had some biodata i filled, join a queue to submit your passport and in 2mins you'll be done. The officer asked if i had anything for them, i replied - me no get shishi...lol. Another queue to join again, where they will collect that yellow card from you and ask that you do some biometrics registration. Once done, you proceed to strip yourself (phones, belt, keys, earplugs, jacket) to pass through the detector while you pass your carry on & backpack to the other side.

After that, you meet another set of immigration guys who just ask you random questions like where are you going and why. Once done, i located ET boarding gate, here i was frisked again, carry on & backpack ransacked and one of my upgrade reciept was collected and ticket was authorized for flying (one part was torn for their use, while the other part will be given back to you). By 1pm, i boarded the plane and we left the TRENCHES by 2pm.

Track 2: AABIA (Addis Ababa Bole International Airport) - we landed just 5hrs after, though 9pm in Ethiopia cus they are 2hrs ahead 9ja, so technically we took off from 9ja by 4pm Addis time. We got down, and another queue this time, very long o. The airplane was way beautiful than MMIA, it seems 9ja is cursed ground, cus wtf, with all the money we have, we can't even build a standard international Airport. Was frisked again and searched thoroughly, including my carry on & backpack, then found my way around the boarding gates for the Americas (Canada to be precise). We were boarded onto the plane via zoning, i was in zone 2, so i was part of the 2nd set that went on the plane. Our layover of 2hrs was barely enough to get us all on the plane.

Again our journey began....

Track 3: DIAI (Dublin International Airport, Ireland) - We flew for 8hrs, and landed Dublin for refuel which was just about 1hr. Inflight entertainment and food was good. I didn't watch any movie, cus i had seen all the Hollywood movies to be seen except for HIDDEN FIGUEES, but i couldn't watch cus the earplugs given didn't have any bass, so the noise from the plane was too much interference, instead i focused on the flight 3D map and it was interesting to monitor our flight and know where we headed. For food, ET try o, abeg, they served us 4 times (rice, chicken/beef sauce, bread/bagel with spread, biscuits, water, drinks - wine or soft), being not much of a foodie, i only ate the rice at all times, cus small food laidis my belle don full. We were given coffee (with cream & sugar) and cakes, as we finished fueling at Dublin, on our 8hrs flight to Toron'o...lol

Track 4: YYZ (Toronto Pearson International Airport - Terminal 1) we landed by 9am instead of 8.10am bt no lele, we sha don land, my papa go talk say "welcome is better than sorry"...lol... na so people dey run o, to join immigration queue o. So first you join a very long queue, to register on the kiosk machine, no officer to say next, na here DIY (do it yourself) start o, you just look around for the next empty kiosk machine as we have about 20 of them or more sef, then you leave the queue and do self registration. Scan your passport, position to take picture, accept declaration and print, a white slip will come out of the machine. Move to another queue, where they will check the white slip and you may be selected for covid-19 random testing, i wasn't selected sha. So i moved to the CBSA queue, where you'll declare purpose of entry and all those shenanigans, finally you go hear the famous line "Welcome to CANADA". moved on to baggage claim and got my 23kg & 32kg. Then asked for connecting flight lounge, i got there and was told i had missed my flight by some few minutes. I was directed to AirCanada desk to help reschedule at no cost, i was put on the next available flight with wait time of over 3hrs. Well, i enjoyed free wifi and the wait flew by in no time. My big bags were e-tagged and loaded onto the conveyor belt so it can be passed to the airplane to carry it (P.S: my hand luggage wasn't weighed or stuffs bcus i didn't use a box, if u used a box for hand luggage, it will be weighed and if overweight or the dimension is not as it shld, then u may have to rearrange your bag or find a way out sha).

Track 5: YEG (Edmonton International Airport) - flight time from Toronto to Edmonton is 2hrs on paper bt 4hrs in reality cus Edmonton is 2hrs behind Toronto. So flight left from Toronto 2pm (Edmonton 12pm) to land by 4pm (also 4pm Edmonton time), which is correct but in reality, we flew for 4haaaarrrrsssss, mo ni Bleep shit, Canada yii ti tobi juu mhen (this Canada is too big). Na here all the geography for secondary cun dey useful, all those yeye time loss and gain, with those yeye latitude & longitude calculations became reality that day...lol.

I landed Edmonton and my host came to pick me up. The anxiety made me forget my backpack at the airport, i remembered when we were over 10mins drive away. We turned back o, i reach airport, i no see bag, i was scared shitleds, cus na there all documentations dey, most importantly COPR (gobe!). I asked around and a nice lady officer told me to come over to a storage room, there i saw my bag o. My mind just flashed back to the TRENCHES, say if there, that bag is a goner...lol. I retrieved my bag and thanked her and went on my way.

Track 6: Edmonton (the dream turned REALITY) - hmmmm, the breathe of fresh air. It's worth it ooo. Pls y'all should come over, it's worth all the wait and patience. I have done my SIN (social insurance number), gotten a mobile plan, opened a bank account. Will start applying soon. Wonder why i dropped my landing gist now? I am still jetlagged, my body clock is betraying me coupled with say light no dey go for here. It's 5.01am here and i have been awake typing this since 3.00am. People say it's cold, yes, -12°C, but then there is me who sleeps without a shirt or coverlet and the heater isn't turned on sef (e be like the heat wey do me for 9ja don fry my hard drive...lol)

Outro: CANADA in Jesus name - The wait is worth it in the end!

Thank God it ended in praise

No It doesn't alter my scores. Spouse's work experience adds nothing to your scores but their ECA and IELTS can. That is why i'm thinking of removing it to reduce document requirements.

greenverte:

Hold on.
If I may understand you clearly, you filled spouse's WE pre-ITA, and any details filled before ITA is for points.
So it means removing your spouse's WE will alter your scores.

So check well before any alterations.

Okay, Thank you so much

That's what I think, yes from an IRCC perspective.

Disclaimer, no idea how OINP runs things.

No It does not alter my CRS.

So is it okay for me to put NO and NO in his work history and education and then declare them in his personal history.

Responses in red from an IRCC perspective (post ITA), I have no experience with the way OINP sees these things.

It means you just received the NOI from Ontario. Just proceed to their website to submit your required documents to give you a shot at getting ITA via PNP.

headhoncho:
Hello house,

Just received the mail below;

Ontario would like to consider you under their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Dear xxxxx,

The Government of Ontario is interested in considering you for nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Express Entry.

If you want Ontario to consider you for nomination under its PNP, you must visit the website of Ontario after receiving this notification of interest. Note that this notification of interest is not a guarantee that you will be nominated by Ontario. You will first have to satisfy Ontario that you meet the requirements of their program.

xxxx

Please what those this mean and what is the way forward? thanks in advance
