healthserve: No wonder. That man is doing good for hinself and his people. If this continues, the bad mark that has scarred Ebonyi for a long time would be a thing of the past Yeah for sure... present components of Ebonyi were neglected in their former states, and I'm happy the governor is changing things and trying to build the infrastructures that should have already been in Ebonyi..That's why I laugh off when people criticize his projects like anyone built them before..if he can build the airport, stadium and other capital projects then it will attract more investors to the state |

healthserve: I'm beginning to suspect Umahi. All of a sudden e come be like say him be Ebonyi first governor and he had no predecessors.
All these large projects makes me wonder where he's getting money from. Kudos to the man.
Let's hail performance when people are doing well abeg Thing is this...most projects are direct labour and are of good quality, he uses his own contractors to do the work and give a high quality..he's a civil engineer himself..so instead of stealing the money without doing anything, he rather build them and get his money still..win win situation both for him and Ebonyi people |

That's a good one from Umahi, but he shouldn't just concentrate on the Abakaliki bloc..Afikpo bloc needs the ring roads and linkages as much as the Abakaliki block to connect more to Abia and Cross River states.
I'm even proposing construction of a bridge across Ndibe beach Afikpo to connect to the other part of Cross River, with this the time frame from Afikpo to Calabar will be less than the current 2hrs from Abaomege...Infact it could just be almost an HR and maybe some few minutes..This will also help those traveling from Enugu, Anambra, west and north to cut short the travel time to Calabar |

I think you are ignorant. Go to lagos, go and see what they are doing with tax payers money. So is only Lagos that deserves to build infrastructure..abeg wetin be your own state? Make we start from there |

ArcFresky: We have misplaced priorities in this country. 1.Scarce resources is being used to build a meaningless project
2. We are praising the governor for building such a meaningless project with his money abi?
3. The governor is happy he has impacted in the life of ebony people by building a glass whatever, that adds no economic value to the life of ebony people.
And OP is proud to say "ebonyi amaka"... such stupidity
A pastor once said, we can see, but we are blind.... Nothing like a misplaced priority..you're not from Ebonyi, only Ebonyi people can say that and from what I see they're happy with giant strands of the governor, so what's your bitterness all about? |

Lifestone: I am not against building of infrastructures, I am for making life work first, then spend money on infrastructures that supports first line of life before going into aesthetics. That's my point. I am from Ondo State and what am saying to Ebonyi is what am saying to my Governor (Ogbeni Akeredolu) Your logic is akin to giving people fish instead of teaching them how to fish..is it not infrastructures that bring in investors and thereby creating job for people..if the developed worlds reason like you I don't think they would have gone so far now...the purported Abacha 320m$ loot that was shared to poor homes in Nigeria how far did it reach..did make them to automatically not to look for money again..or are u saying states should just be doing stomach infrastructure like fayose did, how far did it go with Ekiti state, reason well biko |

Have been researching on that even to thisday. No more reply BC u know nothing.. artificial state creation by fraud lugard...Igbos even cut across to Benue and Cross River, so can u now kill yourself? They're even strong Igala population in anambra so what's your point with state and tribe..get educated and don't display your ignorance here.. Let's always guide ourselves especially in our choice. Of words. Lol..I thought u were real I didn't know you were obviously an Impostor...had to read some of your post and people's reply to you only to find out you're not even Igbo...sorry for wasting my time on you |

We are only against notions like Ending whatever subject on ebonyi with Good for Ndigbo.....it is simply good for ndi ebonyi......ndigbo is a miscontrued term to be used especially in ebonyi state.
Flyover in ebonyi first in SE....SE is not a state. Concentrating the praise singing in ebonyi state....thats all. I can't actually comprehend your points properly, people can decide to pray the state or the region(south east) where it falls under or Igbo that's their choice...I'm just saying some people who are asking of the use will so praise it if it's built in their own place |

Lifestone: We all thought Northern region problems were theirs but now it's for all of us. My point here is that our leaders irrespective of region or state should first fix the basic things of life before talking of aesthetics. A glass tunnel is a pure waste. No sir , is not a waste to build standard infrastructure,..what's your state if I may ask? |
Politics › Re: Muhammadu Buhari Glass Tunnel In Ebonyi Constructed By Umahi (Pictures) by murphyibiam15(m): 9:39am On Feb 19, 2020 |
Lifestone: My brother this is wastefulness. This Governor needs to first attend to the basic needs of the people like education, healthcare, food, security before projects like this. I have same feeling across Nigeria where our leaders are doing fanciful projects to amuse themselves. Go and check that project in 5years, it will be an eyesore for lack of maintenance. He has built good hospitals already in all the LGAs, so he's not one sided in development Seriously I don't understand how people are pained oo....it isn't your state, the people and the governor are not complaining so why feel so pained. I remember when Akpabio was building uyo airport and flyovers people were shouting waste of funds but now everyone is happy with it...make Una free Ebonyi biko...if them no build Una go still talk say them no get infrastructure so wetin Una want? Or is it really pure jealousy? |

uuzba: Glass roof traps heat. They use it in Europe where the weather is cold. Doing such here in Nigeria, with our blazing sun, that tunnel will change to oven. Nobody will like to stay inside Then the dust from the air will settle untop When the rains fall, water mixes with the dust untop to form soil. Grass will start growing on that soil. The rest of the glass will have green algae on it
This is a VERY bad idea. Will people live there ni..no be to pass? fubsy: How beneficial is this project to the people of Ebonyi State in particular, and Nigerians in general? Is it an economically viable project? In other words, will it generate revenue for the state? What is the projected revenue per year that this project will generate? Don’t get me wrong. It could be a tourist attraction. But if that is the answer, to what end? Tourism without revenue or tourism with appreciable revenue. State funds should be used for the overall benefit of the state! What a failed backward country talking of minimum wage of #30,000 per month whereas elsewhere one can make more than that a day working.
No the issue is not even about the #30,000 minimum wage but for the fact that the politicians are not even willing to pay them whereas they pay bogus pensions to ex-governors and numerous allowances to themselves and the law makers without hesitation.
Fact is that Nigeria can't get better than this |

leokid866: Not possible....for two reasons....1) there are some economic criteria which has to be fulfilled before such a swap is considered and currently of all the African countries connected to the eco only Ghana has fulfilled the criteria. 2) you have to consider the debts that will be shelved unto the currency and living Nigeria out of it when you consider the debts of countries like the mali I'm sure even you would not want to be tangled up in the eco currency. Best we can do is keep the naira and have a favourable exchange rate to the eco anything short of that would be a disaster. You're saying Ghana only has met the criteria while the minister of finance is saying Togo.. please read again |
