If this heinous crime was committed by Hausa or northerner, some nitwits would be calling Islam all sorts of names. Here we are with a crime committed by someone no less than a pastor but no one says anything bad about Christianity. Talk of double standards! |

Yomieluv: My fiance called me on thursday that she's converting to a moslem.
Actually, she was a muslim, but when the mum was going through financial difficulties while growing up,she and her brother went to stay at her uncle's place, who happens to practice christian, which made her practice the family's religion.
She has gone back this year to her mum's place, because her place of industrial attachment is very close to her mum's place.
I thought she was joking, till she came to my side yesterday, and observed her prayer the muslim way.
I haven't made any comment,or taken any decision on that, but my fear is that
1. This is a lady I want t get married to in few months' time.
2. I practise christianity, and I know the importance of uniformity of religion to married couple, and children.
3. I have been worried since,am I over reacting to it?
4. Has anybody been in this situation before, whereby hubby, and wife practise different religion?
5. Should I be worried,or I insist on her to practice christianity?
I need contribution, and advice on how to handle the difference in religion,if eventually we get married.
CC: lalasticlala. Her conversion is not the problem. Your conversion to Islam is. If she's s true Muslim then marriage between the two of you is forbidden except if you convert to Islam. Christian women are however allowed to marry Muslim men. So let me in advance welcome you to to Islam, brother. |

Why must the North always cheat us? Huh? 3 Mosque, 1 Church..... Why? Why?? Why Am sick and tired of this shit. Its high time we separate Religion from government!
Check my Signature it not a competition sir. The nature of worship in the two religions differ. Muslims pray salat five times a day but Christians have a different praying regime which does not necessitate building many churches. There is a mosques at every street and corner of the north. In fact most houses in the north by default have mosques attached. Would you say the same for churches in the south? |

Many people are ignorant of this issue. NYSC age is determined as the age at the time of graduation. If at the time of your graduation you are not more than 30 years then you are eligible. So if your age is under 30 in 1970 when you graduated and did not do NYSC for any reason then you are still eligible. |

chowlade:
Why Do Nigerian Women Hate Smoking So Much? 45% of our Men does it, but 99.9% of Women are not into it.The few ones that does it, are termed as a prostitute, or looked down upon by Nigerians. Why this?
Pls don't quote me wrongly, the purpose of this thread is not to encourage smoking but to get explanation from Nairaland deep thinkers of what could be the probable cause of it. but from my own observation, When i was opportuned to visit USA (Miami, Florida) to be precise. I was forced to compare and contast the social live styles of our Women with theirs as regard to smoking and drinking. I noticed about 45% of them were habitual smokers.
Note: Pls don't abuse me on my thread if you have nothing good to say just view and leave or else i'll give you the feedback you wanted
Pls your comment is needed. OP, your topic is silly to say the least. My problem with your post is that you see smoking by American women as the norm rather than the exception just by visiting America and seeing their women smoke. This is a typical way western society messes with people's brain. It's like asking why do Nigerians hate stealing, if you see what I mean. Your topic should rather read "Why Do American Women Love Smoking So much " |
