Nigerian Corpers are really suffering. cry Can't imagine myself earning 19,800 (a little over a hundred dollars shocked ) a month when school children here earn $10 an hour working part-time.. How can one possibly live on that? Ha! That country is in God's hands o.

Next step is to employ 45000 genuine Nigerians to replace them. Just imagine 45000 slots across 36 states and FCT. Each state would have 1216 slots! But i don't think they will ever consider doing such.

IslamRe: We Are Losing Our Identity To The Arabs by murtalaa(m): 1:39pm On Feb 12, 2013
justaqad: Are you saying ALLAH understands only arabic on the day of reckoning? so if i dont understand arabic i would be mute that day abi?
back up your ambiguous claims from the quran.
mr Islam is a universal language, arabic is just a tunnel for conveying the divine message of Allah.simple.
there is no clear cut aya confirming that arabic is the language of the hereafter. but ahadith confirms it to be so. I will leave you with the response of the eminent scholar of islam when confronted with the same question. I believe it captures my response succinctly.

"It is clear from the Qur'an that people shall freely communicate in paradise, but the Qur'an has not specified the language or the method in which people shall communicate with each other. However, there is a narrative ascribed to the Prophet (pbuh) in Tabraniy's Mu`jam al-Awsat[1], according to which the Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said that the language of the people of Paradise shall be Arabic. If this narrative is considered to be reliable and accurately reporting the actual saying of the Prophet (pbuh), then one a Muslim would obviously be inclined towards believing that the language spoken by the inmates of Paradise shall indeed by Arabic.

Whatever the case may be, it should be appreciated that because of our limited perspective during the life of this world, we are not in a position to fully comprehend either the exact nature of the life in the hereafter or that of the rewards and punishment of the hereafter. After fully appreciating this point, we would naturally be more concerned and involved in rendering ourselves deserving of God's mercy in the hereafter and not be too concerned about the details and the exact nature of the life or the rewards and punishments in the hereafter."- Moiz Amjad

Again if this is the only fault you find in my reasons why you should consider yourself lucky for having Arabic name, then you should give the other reasons a thought.
PoliticsRe: Massob Members Killed In Onitsha (Picture) by murtalaa(m): 12:58pm On Feb 12, 2013
This is what we are talking about when we say soldiers and police are killing innocent people in Maiduguri under the guise of fighting Boko and some useless bigots attack us and call us all sort of names. Now igbos can join us in the fight against extra-judicial killings and killing of civilians.

PoliticsRe: El-Rufai's 'The Accidental Public Servant' Book Launch (Pictures) by murtalaa(m): 1:33am On Feb 08, 2013
Mkpotu: It stil boils down to What Anyim said about his Boss, GEJ being a tolerant leader who gives them the freedom to practice democracy. But come to think of it, how on earth is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (SLS) suppose to be there. No matter his relationship with ElRufai, he's not supppose to be there. He is a top Govt Public Officer, yet he's is winning & dinning with opposition in flagrant disregard of his master.

Can this happen under OBJ's govt, if Soludo had done such I bet, he wouldn't last 1month on that seat. I know SLS will not attend such if Yaradua were to be in power.
I therefore urge SLS to immediately resign his position as CBN Governor, because of the impression he has created to the int'l community, Nigerians & the world at large. Where he refuses to resign, GEJ should quietly terminate his appoinrment & replace him with someone else. This is the opportunity to do it becauise SLS does not qualify to be in that seat ab initio. He only attends opposition gathering, the other it was when OBJ had his political gathering to frustrate GEJ out bf 2015, though he termed it fund raising for building mosque in Otta farm, SLS was there doling out money, meanwhile that gathering was a scheme b/w OBJ & Northerners to choose from amongst them who will jostle for GEJ's seat in 2015. Plz let SLS go
I think you are too pedestrian in your thinking. If you factor out your Nigerian way of thinking, you will notice that SLS is not a politician. He has the right to attend any event that he so wishes provided it is not a political gathering. Can you in all honesty say the even was a political gathering?

Were you at the event? Has the name of any party been mentioned during the event? Elrufai is SLS's friend and SLS is not one of those pitiable public servants who turn their backs against their own parent just to get president's approval. He is professional servant and not a professional bootlicker.

Your illiteracy is even obvious. let me educate you. Jonathan cannot remove SLS because it is not a ministerial appointment. The only reason SLS is on that seat is because his seat is protected by the constitution and therefore insulated from the interference of politicians. Sucks to be your master, init?

Jobs/VacanciesWhat Is The Worth Of A Phd Financially? by murtalaa(op): 3:31pm On Feb 07, 2013
Many people are of the opinion that getting a PhD adds to prospect of a good salary. I plead guilty to having that opinion because I used to belong to such school of thought. Over the years, however, I noticed that one really does not need a PhD degree to reach any level of financial achievement.

I have come to understand that PhD should not be pursued merely for financial gratification. But one disturbing issue I noted is that majority of people who seek to obtain a Phd don't want to work in Academia. I don't why is that.

I want to get the opinion fellow NLder on this. Do you think getting a PhD pays-off financially? Can you say the highest earners in your coy owns a PhD?

@Poster

If you think you will get a pat from these bigots on NL you are sadly mistaken. You will never get anything short of ridicule. let me tell you why you should be proud of your Arabic name: 1. Our beloved prophet was an Arab 2. Qur'an was revealed in Arabic 3. Arabic would be the language of the hereafter. If you don't find these reasons enough to be proud of your Arabic name then you have no besiness identifying yourself as muslim. When people mistake you for hausa, does that implies that you are loosing your identity to Arab? when have Hausas become Arabs?

PoliticsRe: How Will You Rate Jonathan's Interview With Amanpour? by murtalaa(m): 12:20am On Jan 24, 2013
GEJ, in the interview, reminds me of a child who does something bad and could not meet his parents eyes in a feeble attempt to string a coherent lie that would hopefully save him from stick.

Den Amanpour was too intimidating...he made good points, he just wasn't confident...
what are the good points? u must be dafter than him, if that is possible. claimed electricity is one area his government is making an impact. have we seen the impact? international community should help him catch oil thieves. so u will let your house wide open and when thief steals from you, you beg me to catch him for you, right? also couldnt depend his govt on corruption......and tell him to look at the dam.n camera next time.

As a graduate entrant, DPR pays more than NNPC. But your colleague at NNPC would earn more as the years keep building because higher up the ladder, NNPC is way more lucrative. Lucky few senior managers at DPR are crossing over to NNPC for a better pay.
