the bride price is collected as a token to show that ur taking a very valuable entity away from the family. it doesnt really mean they are selling their daughter out but just a show of love. @ OP, bride price are just a part of the marriage rights and u shouldnt see it as a problem. a bad man will harass his wife whether or not he pays a price on her.

Northern muslims are not silent, they are speaking everyday right now ACF is meeting for the upteenth time in Kaduna. Besides, the terror of BH is affecting them and they (both muslims and christians in the north) are busy at burial grounds on a daily basis because of BH killings. The northern muslims have no constitutional basis other than to support the government at all levels (Federal, State and LGA). It is the government that is silent or just inactive towards addressing a national problem. I do not know what the Niger Delta community did differently to help the government solve the problems of their restive violent youth, did they talk? what did they say? remind me? The federal government or Yar'adua went in with the solution they thought was best. The current President needs to read his job description again, this is his job and he has all the institutions and the resourses at his disposal to bring peace to the country. If the country breaks it will be due to his weakness and cluelessness.

it does matter cuz the high level of unemployment means you get lots of c.vs for few job openings. so the recruiter tends to set up lots of measures to trim down the number of applications. e.g age, grade, field and institution attended.
i av been involved with 1 in my office and we started by screening out HNDs, second class uppers and then schools that have not been in the top 20 in the last 5 years ranking. even Uniabuja was out of our list of Qualified schools

The arrest of Nollywood comic actor, Babatunde Omidina over hard drug is the latest gist in town at the moment. The widower who was arrested on his way to Paris a fortnight ago, we scooped, has excreted over 16 pellets of cocaine last night.

A source in the anti-drug agency said that the controversial drug peddler cum Yoruba actor has already excreted some of the drugs he ingested while a large quantity is still lodged in his abdomen.

Another reliable source said the suspect has been given a cup of tea to drink that will enable him excrete the remaining drugs while he has been placed on observation.

If you recall, this same offence was committed by Baba Suwe about two years now but he had his way out of the situation and called it 'mere rumour' but it's so obvious now that what he tagged as rumour then is now a reality.
